The Slice has the best food! The Vodka made me do it is to die for! I get it every time I go!

Today a friend and I went to the slice for lunch. The place was nearly empty as it was only 11:30 in the morning. The waitress told us they only had one 2 top table and we had to sit at it. It was right by the hallway leading to the restrooms and the open door that the manager sat in was 2 feet away from us, and he was in there. I asked if we could sit at one of the other empty tables and she said oh no those are just for four Tops and more. So I said if we have to sit here, can the manager at least close the door because it felt like he was sitting at the table with us. She went to ask him and he refused. At that point, I decided that they were not interested in our business and we left and went to Shortsfields in Simpsonville and had the most amazing service ever . Needless to say, I will never go to the slice again. read more

I don't get the hype about this place. The pizza was like any generic "NY-style" pizza shop. It wasn't bad, but nothing special. They added a lot of meat toppings but hardly any cheese even though we ordered (and paid $4 for) extra cheese. The house salad was $5 for romaine lettuce then a handful of shredded mozzarella, some sliced cucumber, and 2 wedges of tomato. It was basically all just lettuce. The house red wine vinaigrette dressing has very little flavor, just tasted like olive oil. It does have a cool atmosphere and our server was super nice. I just think this was way too expensive for mediocre pizza. read more

New York style pizza. We had the Arancini appetizer and Hawaiian pizza. I had a Peroni on tap which I highly recommend as it's a taste of Italy in a glass! The Arancini were good. I have to say that I was a little disappointed in the Hawaiian pizza. Only a third of it had any sauce and no spices. I expect basil at a minimum but like rosemary for flavor. They did have Oregano and a few other spices on the table. I just thought the pizza was bland until you got to the third with the sauce. Hence why it's 4 and not 5 stars. I'll try again to see if it is just the Hawaiian made that way or all of the pies. read more

OK, so I have given 5 stars to a few other pizza places during my time on Yelp but HEAR ME, THIS ONE IS DEFINITELY THE BEST I've had in SC and among the best including NY/NJ pizza places. We had a plain pie with double sauce and double cheese and it was very impressive. The sauce was among the most flavorful that I've had anywhere and the cheese was as good as anywhere I've ever been. Dela Ventura's, also in Simpsonville, has similarly good cheese but the sauce and crust at Slice of Brooklyn was much better (not that Della Ventura was bad...it was good!) The owner, Mike, just added house made pasta to his menu and I happened to be there while it was being prepared....looked great! The here-say is that the guy who made pasta at Jianna in downtown Greenville is now making the pasta for Mike. If so, I'm going to have a weight problem between the pizza and the pasta. The space is nice and can accommodate a good number of people and the location, in downtown Simpsonville, is very walkable with lots of interesting small businesses nearby. Stop by and try a slice and see if I'm right. You won't be sorry!! read more

Good food, and service. We enjoy coming back to this restaurant. They have gluten free pizza as well. It does get crowded.

Yum yum yummmmmmm. Moved close to this place a couple months ago and finally got around to trying it. What captured my attention was the garlic rolls posted on a GVL eats page so we RAN here. Unfortunately they were out of garlic rolls and the pasta I wanted to try "vodka made me do it" so I tried the ziti instead. Not my favorite. The cheese to sauce ratio just wasn't my cup of tea, and that's okay! Because their pizza was absolutely delicious. Closest to NY PIZZA we have had since moving to SC. my boyfriend had the chicken wings and he realllly enjoyed them. for now until I can try their garlic rolls. Look forward to coming back read more

Fantastic! Now my favorite pizza in the simpsonville area. Crust is actually a new york style crust, many claim to be new york style but this actually is a ny style crust for a change. So good, but keep in mind this 5 star is based on pizza in the area Large cities like NY STL ATL etc this would be a 3 star pizza. Since I don't live in a big city anymore all that matters is this pizza vs area pizza and compared to this area this is a fantastic pizza! read more

For me and how I like my pizza this is about as good as it gets. Perfect New York style pizza with toppings that are fresh. It's on Simpsonville's main street which is a nice little "side" of Greenville. This is a pretty typical Italian/New York Italian/New York Pizza menu and restaurant. Anyway, we got fries as an appetizer. They were perfect crispy fries. Exactly what you want with pizza (pizza and fries are a thing for me). Oh man the pizza was good. We had a pepperoni and mushroom pizza. It was the perfect New York style. I'm talking crispy on the bottom with a lite crispy crust with a good chew. Mushrooms were fresh (I hate canned mushrooms) and the pepperoni/cheese was top notch. I don't want to bore with going on and on about how good this is, but it really is. I highly recommend it and it's probably in my top three for pizza I've ever had. There's nothing I would change about it. read more

I have lived in the biggest pizza cities in the US. Chicago, Detroit, NYC and Philly. All have their own versions and all good in their own way. The Slice is the closest to NY pizza I have found in the Carolinas. Great crust, super fresh and high quality ingredients make this a great pie! The arancini is also top notch. We stopped here before a family walk to Cedar Falls Park. What a little gem in the heart of Simpsonville. Pair with a beer and some ice cream for the kids and you have a sweet little family day in town. The pizzas are huge. The prices blow the other NY pizzerias out of the water. The toppings tasted fresh and delicious. The owners wear many hats as most small business owners do. They may come off rude, but they is hardly the case. They are taking orders, hopping over to the pizza line, serving and doing with hustle and love. After the rush dies down, and they're able to breathe they make their rounds to the customers to see how they are enjoying it all. Then a customer walks in, a regular customer, and the owner shouts out a bit of banter with him and they share a laugh. It's all refreshing to watch. They love their customers and they love sharing their food with their customers. We cannot wait to come back and share a slice and maybe a laugh. read more

The pasta is really good. It's nice on the rooftop when the weather is good. Gets crowded quickly but usually the wait isn't too long.

The chicken wings were delicious. We sat at the bar and had chicken wings and four different flavors. The bartender was so nice to us and the restaurant had great vibes. Native New Yorker here. Cannot recommend The Slice more. Their cheese pizza is as authentic as you can get. The chicken Parmesan sandwich is a sight to behold. A bunch of friends had the best time here Thursday night. We absolutely love The Slice! You can't go wrong ordering their pizza, but our fave is the pepperoni. The cheese and the pepperonis are full of flavor. The service was amazing, too. Thank you, Emma, for your excellent service! Michael, the manager, was good to us, too, and he made sure we were happy and had plenty. We sat inside (too hot and rainy for rooftop), but we were very happy with the seating and ambiance. We love The Slice and could probably be considered "regulars" here! My husband and son love the pizza... well cooked and a great crust and toppings! I love the garlic Parmesan wings - extra crispy (well done). And you won't have to worry about vampires after eating lol! Went to this place for the first time a few months back and I would go once a week if I could! My mother and I went for dinner and we both got a pasta dish and the noodles are so fresh and cooked absolutely perfect and the sauces are amazing. The garlic knots appetizer are not at all what you'd expect, they are massive rolls coated in fresh garlic and seasonings with Parmesan sprinkles in a bowl of olive oil. They are the DEFINITION of heaven in a bite of bread. Another dish I highly recommend would be the buffalo chicken pizza, it is amazing! Only downside I had during one visit were the chairs being very uncomfortable but I was also 8 months pregnant at the time! The staff are all friendly and attentive, I'm excited to visit again once they are done renovating and building the upstairs area!! read more

We finally got a chance to go back and dine in since they've reopened. The aesthetic is awesome and comfortable. Staff super friendly. The garlic knots to die for and pizza just the same. Great flavor and crips. Our northern family we took with us gave them their stamp of approval as well. Overall excellent. One thing we hope to see again from the old menu is the calzones.
