Plenty of comfortable seating

Absolutely delicious cream puffs! Plenty of comfortable seating, clean bathrooms and a huge assortment of cream puffs made fresh in house. We had a plain cream puff with vanilla filling, and a chocolate cream puff, both totally decadent highly recommend.!

I have always loved Beard Papa's and was so excited to hear one has opened up in Greenville! We came Saturday night near closing but they were gracious enough to let us order whatever we wanted! My friends and I got tons of filled cream puffs and cheesecakes - I got the matcha cream puff with matcha cream, the honey butter cream puff with vanilla cream, a cookies and cream mini cheesecake, and a lemon mini cheesecake. My parents LOVE their matcha cream puff. It's a tad sweet but the matcha flavor is delicious. My personal favorite is the honey butter cream puff-it has a crispy, sweet and salty shell that is DELICIOUS with the smooth cream. The cookies and cream cheesecake was rich, smooth, with chunks of Oreo cookies and the sweet creme. The lemon cheesecake was light and fragrant, perfect for a snack after lunch. I heard they make Japanese cheesecakes occasionally and cannot wait to try them!!! Please come support this local bakery and family, they make delicious cream puffs and desserts! I'll definitely come back whenever I'm in town.

I was going to pick up dinner when I saw Beard Papas... I thought hmm what an odd name. Is it something with potatoes ? Papas in Spanish means potatoes. Well... to my delightful surprise, it's cream puffs! They are fluffy puffs that are not overly sweet. You choose your puff and then pick what you want it filled with. Last night they had vanilla, chocolate, blueberry and green tea filling. I tried *Churro with green tea filling *Cereal with blueberry filling *Dulce de leche with vanilla filling *Cookies and Cream with chocolate filling (my fav) It was a delicious fun treat!

Amazing crème puffs! I Loved my ube dipped purple dessert so much. It was perfect in every way, not too sweet and so fluffy soft. The young woman helping me was great in explaining the process when I mentioned it was my first time. I also ordered the Japanese cheesecake which was fluffy and phenomenal. So simple and incredible texture. The green tea puff my friend got and let me sample was very intense, amazing if you love matcha flavor.

Waiting on their order and checking out all the ice cream toppings!

I was pleasantly surprised! I had planned to take the kids somewhere else that was closed, so we stumbled on Beard Papa's! It was delicious and great service. Kids had ice cream and I had a puff pastry with the flavor of the month filling. Definitely will be back!

A small clean store off of woodruff. Lots of parking available outside. Service was quick and staff was friendly. The cream puffs were very good! I liked that they had an ube flavor and green tea fillings. It's also nice to get to customize each puff. Large menu with snow ice, boba, and other pastries.

This place is good but they do run out of items. I do like the japanese cheesecake which is a nice alternative if you didn't want a cream puff. I've gotten the strawberry milkshake which I don't recommend. It was super thick and flavorless. My nephew didn't even want it and he eats everything. The place is quiet but I usually get my stuff to go. I like the classic cream puff with vanilla cream and chocolate on top of the puff.

Love this concept!! Good flavor choices for the pastries. I only with that they were warm and not cold. I tried the new shaved ice and it was yummy. I got the taro with rice crispies. I do think it'd be better with a drizzle of condensed milk. The service left something to be desired.

One day I was going somewhere on Woodruff rd and I noticed this sign from the distance. I thought it was so cute and interesting, so I immediately had to Google what it was. That is when I found out that it was a bakery chain that specialized in cream puffs. I instantly became excited because I love cream puffs lol But I also found out that they weren't open yet. And as much as I wanted to stop by when they did open, I decided to wait and go on my 30th birthday (back on July 24th). I got two different cream puffs and they was essentially my birthday cake for the day lol. The first cream puff I chose was the Green Tea Eclaire shell with green tea filling. I am an HUGE matcha fan so this was amazing to me. Both the matcha topping and filling was the perfect balance of sweet and earthy. It wasn't too sweet. The employee who rang us up let us know that they only use natural and real ingredients, and I could tell. Also, the cream was the perfect texture. Not too thick but also not too runny and EXTREMELY creamy. The actual cream puff itself was the perfect airy texture. I also got the creme brûlée cream puff and it was delicious! It had the normal creamy custard that a regular creme brûlée has, plus the the crispy caramelized sugar topping. But with this, there was the addition of the airy cream puff exterior. Which honestly, is better then a normal creme brûlée in my opinion. My wife got the Honey Butter shell with the green tea filling and that was also really good. I think I actually liked it more than matcha on matcha. I think next time I go I will try that one out for myself, plus a strawberry and a chocolate one of some sort. But yeah, I highly recommend Beard Papa's. They are awesome. Especially if you are looking for a sweet treat that is also natural. I can't wait to go back.

I've been here twice since they opened. The first time was their 2nd day opening and the owner was there. He was telling us about the ingredients they use on their products and different flavor combinations he likes. Basically, you choose from the different puff pastries and fillings. I believe the different puff pastry options they have right now are - original, chocolate, green tea, honey butter, crispy almond, Oreo, and creme brulee. For the fillings - green tea, chocolate, and vanilla. The vanilla is actually made from real vanilla beans. They will have additional flavors later on. I think I've ordered pretty much all of the flavors. I like that it's not overly sweet. Just the right amount of sweetness. And I like that there are so many options you can do to mix and match flavors. On my 2nd visit they had a sign for a special - you can choose from any of the puff pastries and it's cut in half and sandwich a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I'll have to come back and try that next time. The store is located on Woodruff Rd across the street from Lowe's and in the same strip as Oriental House. Parking spaces are available but it's probably hard to find a spot during prime hours. They do not currently have indoor dining. I think you can call in your order for pick up but no online order options. Overall, it's a nice treat to have in Greenville. Will definitely come back and try other flavor combos.

Original cream puff

I used to live in California and worked in Cupertino. There was a Beard Papa's there but I never tried it. THANKFULLY, Greenville has the only Beard Papa's in South Carolina. The staff is so sweet and very friendly. I asked "so how does this work?" He let me know that there were originals (the not so sweet kind), eclairs, strawberry and Oreo (the more sweet kinds). There are so preservatives and they use vanilla bean for their custard. I choose the original. OH MY GOSH. I was shocked of how much custard was in the puff. I loved that there was a hint of sweet but I didn't feel sick walking out. I've already decided that this is going to be my cheat dessert for the week. I highly recommend this place. It's very clean and the staff are super nice to talk with. They all had smiley faces!

Tried the Ube with Matcha, strawberry with strawberry cheesecake and coffee with chocolate. Wished there was music playing inside and maybe more friendliness.

My first time was better (pun intended!). The dessert was so-so. I got the Naughty by Nature and the lime was WAY too tart. I wish they had more variation for those who don't want a lot of chocolate or peanut butter. My guy had the Peanut Butter Perversion and said it was too creamy. We may try again one day, but not too soon. I do love the menu process and ease to view options.

That kind of service is appreciated. Unfortunately, everything else? Pretty underwhelming. First impressions? Chaos. The entrance area is a logistical mess. People trying to enter, others trying to leave, a cramped waiting area, and no host in sight to direct traffic or check people in. Add dim lighting that makes it hard to see people moving around, and you've got elbows bumping and bodies brushing. Ironically, the most "intimate" part of the whole night was navigating the front door. The concept? Great. The execution? Not so much. I actually love the idea behind this place -- seductive storytelling by your server, iPads with flirtatious menus, and provocative questions to ask your partner. That's all fun... if that's what you're coming for. I came for the desserts. And as someone who takes sweets seriously, this place didn't deliver. Let's talk drinks: Tiny, overpriced, and flavor-wise -- basic. Nothing memorable. The chocolate-rimmed glasses are a nice touch in theory, but licking the rim doesn't elevate the drink. If I want to rim a glass with something sweet at home, I can. That alone doesn't justify the price. Now, the real heartbreak -- the desserts. My fiancé had the Prince Charming red velvet cheesecake, and I don't think I've ever encountered a cheesecake so dry, so devoid of flavor. Even the crust tasted off -- weirdly savory, and not in a creative way. I ordered the Blueberry Birthday -- it sounded like heaven: buttered cinnamon-sugar toast, Belgian white chocolate, spiked blueberry compote, brie cheese, and a strawberry champagne dip. Sadly, it was more like culinary whiplash. Dry. Disconnected flavors. The only thing that saved it from being inedible was the champagne dip -- without it, I probably would've choked. Three drinks and three desserts came out to around $90. For that price, I expected to be wowed -- or at least pleasantly full. I left confused, slightly annoyed, and still craving dessert. Maybe we came on an off night. Maybe we chose the wrong menu items. Either way, I won't be back to find out.

This good ice cream shop is in proximity to other restaurants that's ideal for dessert after a meal. Personally, I'd go in the summer time after a haircut (Julio's best barber in Greenville). Prices aren't bad at all. In 2025, anytime you can get ice cream for well under $10 is a win in my book. Quality of ice cream is good. Not the largest variety, but they have a seasonal menu. The honey lavender flavor is one of my favorites and one that I'd get the next time I go back. My only complaint is one time I went and they closed at 8:20pm when the sign says they close at 9pm. Perhaps it was a one time thing that it happened. Every time I've been, I've consistently seen young family present with their children. I was in the mood for some homemade soft-serve ice cream. To our surprise we stumbled upon River Streets Sweets- an homemade candy and ice cream confectionery located in the heart of downtown Greenville. I was in Oh, with the desserts they had ranging from candy, fudge, chocolate covered apples, soft-serve ice cream, popcorn, nuts, chocolate covered pretzels/marshmallows, and so much more. Thankfully my family was there because I would have bought everything-it's a child's dream. At last I got the soft-serve ice cream I was craving all day. Let me tell you, the ice cream, gelato, and sorbet were truly homemade. To my surprise the prices were not as pricey considering they were in downtown Greenville. My family got two scoops in a cup costing $7.95 a single scoop is $4.95. The scoops are a decent size for the price you are paying. River Streets Sweets has some unique flavors that I have never heard of before, such as Bear Claw, Blueberry, Hazelnut Coffee Crunch, and Pink Grapefruit. They also serve Raspberry Sorbet sugar-free which is nice. My family decided to get Rocky Road and Bear Claw. The ice cream was so rich, creamy, and flavorful. It did not taste artificial like some ice creams in supermarkets. My whole family was pleased with the purchase. The staff were extremely friendly, especially the one member who was mending the ice cream section. She was so kind and energetic, letting my family sample the flavors before purchasing, which a lot of food businesses do not do. In addition, to my surprise, the store was huge, leaving plenty of space to walk around without running into other customers. The store was organized, making it easy to see all the yummy treats. There was no visible dirt or dust, the businesses looked polished. The only downfall would be the parking situation, since they are located in the heart of Greenville parking is limited.
