Me and my boo came here late night to try something that was more local and plus we wanted some drinks too. There are two sides to this place a bar side and then like a little game room with pool tables and other games or what not. I ordered a margarita and boo ordered a beer. The margarita was STRONG. (Thanks to Brett) And if I'm not mistaken they were only $5. We ordered a pizza as well which was only like $12 for a small two topping so we got banana peppers and mushrooms. The pizza was super good and gooey and cheesy. My boo is picky with pizza so he really like this one. The drinks were strong and the vibes were there . They are open pretty late which is great cause the food is great as well. 10/10 might just be my new local spot read more

We have been wanting to try this place for a while since I see them all the time on facebook posting. We stopped in and were greeted pretty quickly. Sat at the bar and started ordering our drinks. Beer was cold, and the specialty drink the wife ordered was on point. We ordered the chessy bread which came to the table smoking hot. Cheese pull was on tap as well as the garlic flavoring. Best cheese bread I've had in a while. For the main meal, I ordered the veggie pizza. Trying to keep it healthy. Pizza came out hot with plenty of toppings. Crust was toasted good with little flop. Pizza sauce was just the right amount for toppings. It appears they offer slice specials for lunch. Would come back to the Slice again. Can't wait to come back and try the wing selection as well as the pickle Pizza. read more

This is the epitome of dive bar that serves food. When you first come in there's a large bar and a few high top tables. But this place extends another TWO rooms along the street! So they can easily accommodate groups if you're coming out for that. There's nothing flashy or expensive here. They don't have beer taps, so you're getting things in bottles or cans. They have some local craft brews so that's nice. They're pizza was actually quite good. Definitely above average. They do have a pickle pizza I might have to try next time I go in here. We got a veggie pizza and it was just the right amount and size of veggies. I'd definitely come back here if in a pizza mood. They have a couple hoagies as well. Not a lot of food, as it seems to be mainly a bar first, but I love me a good dive bar with a side of food lol. It was decent and good, but nothing over the top amazing. I ate this while enjoying local craft beer in a brewery nearby. I had their steak sandwich with mushroom sauce. The person that took my order asked how cooked I wanted my steak, which I thought was strange but I appreciated it. I don't think it made a difference in the end. I didn't much care for their fries. They weren't crispy, as I was hoping for. They were greasy and limp. The seasoning was good on them, though. I also had their garlic knots, which had good seasoning. My kids and I stopped by for what we thought would be a quick slice of pizza. We each ordered a slice of the signature pickle pizza. The place was essentially a bar with three high top tables. We sat at a high top where we could see into the kitchen. While watching I noticed a guy wearing a beanie in the kitchen, I guess that's their cooler version of a hair net. Whatever, I'm not super freaked out by that, so long as I don't find a hair in my food. Ten minutes later we see our three plates put into the window, under a heat lamp. Fifteen minutes later, our food is brought to us. Not sure what the reason. The server saw it, but simply ignored it. She did however, bring us a jar of clumpy cheese. See picture. When our food arrived it was hot, surprisingly. The flavor was good and we all ate every bite. Since it was sold by the slice, we all decided to order a second piece. We waited for the server. I finished my drink and we waited for a refill. Finally, I called out to the server. No response. I called again. Customers at the bar were looking at me, so I know I wasn't too quiet. Finally, my sweet five year old boy decided to intervene. He called, and called and called until a gentleman at the end of the bar intervened. He got the servers attention and I asked for my refill. When she brought it we used the opportunity to order a second slice of a different variety. Again, about a twenty minutes wait. Good thing we had no where to be. While we waited, the guy at the end of the bar came to our table and collected our dishes. So he must work there in some capacity. Again, the pizza was good. The service just sucked. read more

6pm on a Saturday night I thought we would stop at the slice for a couple quick slices to go... one guy at the bar, one couple at a table. We asked for 2 slices to go one mushroom & one sausage, the menu says $3.75 each, my recipe said $4.00 a slice then charged extra to use my card.. so $8.58 plus dollar tip because we were not even offered water as we waited. 20 minutes later we were informed they did not have sausage we request only cheese then. No offer to refund any money or offer a drink while we continue to wait for TWO SLICES. 45 MINUTES LATER we leave for the car excited for our first SLICES, open the box & these slices are barely cooked, cheese hardly melted & CAN MUSHROOMS!?!? We ordered a mushroom pizza, supreme pizza, and cheesy bread (maybe they call it​cheese breadsticks.) for carryout. We walked into the store to pick it up. The atmosphere was okay. It was very hot in there. The bartender greeted us. He was very polite and had great customer service skills. We paid for our pizzas and went home (6 minutes away). The pizzas looked pretty good. Not like the pictures on their website, but who can claim their food ever matches what they advertise? The crust and the breadsticks were pretty burnt on the bottom. The supreme pizza was extremely greasy. Puddles of grease were floating on top. The breadsticks were very small, and mostly bread. The taste was decent. It was edible. Nothing fantastic. The crust had a great flavor. It taste freshly made. The sausage is all you tasted on the supreme. It was very strong. The mushroom pizza was probably the winner of the bunch. The mushrooms were canned, but the thick layer of cheese overshadowed thier lack of freshness. Was it worth $60? Nope. Would I order from them again? Eh, not likely. I am intrigued in trying a slice of the pickle pizza just to see what it is like. But, there are much better pizza places that I can order from for the price. read more

The Slice has, unfortunately, already seen it's best days in the past. When they first opened, their New York style pizza was the best in town. However in the last couple of years, the ingredients have suffered in quality, and my last take out pizza box smelled moldy and stale. That said, they still make the best New York style pizza in town, but if you are able to drive to another location, I would suggest that. read more

Class was at 6:00 just down the street. At 6:00 2 of our group still did not have their food and they paid in advance to hurry up the process. Little local spot in the heart of downtown Middletown! Super cool atmosphere, fair prices on drinks, and pizza by the slice! We recently ordered a pie for delivery (pepperoni pie and cheese sticks) and were very pleased. The bartender (Megan) took our order on the phone and was very kind and cool. The gentleman who delivered our pie was very nice as well (drove a Chevy truck and delivered in the snow with 4x4!) and overall the hospitality you receive from The Slice whether you are hanging out at the bar or ordering delivery is worth the experience! I am loving that my hometown finally has a real pizza joint!!! I stopped in to try The Slice one day after work. When you 1st walk in you see the bar area and a couple high top tables, there is more seating in the back. There were a couple tv's in the bar area. I sat at the bar and was handed a paper menu, their offical ones hadn't came in yet. I ordered a meat slice which featured pepperoni, sausage, and bacon to go. It took about 4 or five to come out. I paid and headed out to chow down. Let me tell you, I LOVE PIZZA and this pizza is awesome. The crust is fresh and foldable New York style and toppings were good quality. They offer garlic knots, sandwiches, and salads. They also have a full bar with lots of bourbon options. So check this place out, it is definitely worth it. I've eaten at the Slice twice now, and both times found the pizza to be above average! Their crust is not super thin but it's very crispy. They don't skimp on toppings either and so far I've not had to order extra anything. Service was a little lacking on one visit where my group sat at tables instead of the bar. They seemed short staffed. Not a big deal as I just went to the bar for anything I needed immediately. My only real complaint would be the facility. They've really tried to repair and work with what they have but the place definitely has seen better days. The floor in some spots is uneven and there are holes in other parts. Hopefully they do well and can renovate or relocate. read more

Ordered a half pepperoni/pickleroni pizza to go on Football Sunday, with a side order of chicken wings. Was informed it would be a 45min wait time, which was to be expected on Sunday with the Bengals playing. I arrived five minutes early and once I walked into the establishment there were two patrons, the bartender and the cook. I received my pizza, and and went home. Pizza cold, wings cold-dry. I've come to the conclusion that whenever someone reviews a pizza place and claims they're from New York and this is the best pizza they've had outside of NY, they're big fat liars. This pizza is mediocre at best. The sauce tastes like Hunt's tomato sauce with some herbs sprinkled in. The cheese was very lacking also. I don't know what people on here ordered to get such beautiful cheesy pizzas but ours definitely wasn't like that. read more

I was a frequent customer of Cincy by the Slice, aka the downtown Cincinnati location of the Slice. I actually met my husband there! We love the Middletown location. The Pickleroni pizza is still amazing, there are great new options like wings and hoagies, the service is great, and now the bathrooms are actually clean. I love this pizza place and I am glad it maintained its original spirit, while also growing and improving. Please spend your money here! read more

I was really excited to try this place based on the reviews, however they did not deliver as well as I was expecting... we went in on a Friday night and we were the only people eating pizza... this place is definitely more of a bar than a restaurant. In our party it was my fiancé, our son, and myself. They were out of iced tea, then they were completely out of chicken, and also the mushroom sauce for a sub. The place needed a serious cleaning. Tables all looked really dingy and wobbly... I believe someone was smoking a cigarette in the facility because it smelled so strongly like cigarettes. And to top it off the pizza was insanely salty. Fresh, yes. However it better be fresh after we had to wait 45 minutes just for a cheese pizza! Might try it again as a take out but never sitting in there again. read more

First time I came here, shortly after their opening, I was honestly less-than-impressed. Their menu was a brochure-sized glossy print out with four pizzas on it. That was it. And that was a little over five months ago. However, this past weekend, we walked in there, because that seemed like the best place to get some food without a lengthy wait on a Friday evening. Folks - Whatever they did, they improved tremendously. There are now more pizza offerings, including build your own types. They have sandwiches - Which got great marks from our group. And they've got Wings. I had a slice of their pizza, and shared some wings. Personal preference for me is that I like a sauced wing. **BUT** their wings, while not saucy, still were tasty. I'd eat them again if they arrived on my table, but I'm not sure they'll ever be my first choice. So, I'm more than happy to update my review on this place. I'm glad their offerings have gotten better. If I were to complain about anything at this point, it would be the stark difference between the bar area, and the adjacent seating area with the pool table. They look like two separate businesses - No overall cohesive decor or design to it. I'd have preferred to sit in the bar area, with it's softer, more dimly lit ambiance, but as there were no good seating options there, we sat in the adjacent room, with the bright overhead lights. I'm definitely going to be a returning customer from now on. If you read my previous review, and chose not to eat here based on that, I do hope you'll reconsider. Going on 45 minutes for one pizza! Smells like sewer from the bathrooms. Not a restaurant but more of a bar atmosphere. Table and chairs all wobble and the floor has bounce to it. You know - these guys are trying - but they're in a musty, nasty smelly, dirty old building and that's all I can think about when trying to eat there. The stromboli (or was it a calzone - whatever it was it was the opposite of the actual item I ordered) was greasy, way too pliable and the internal ingredients were frozen not fresh (you can tell right away). Sat at the bar (tried the dining room first - but no one came to serve me) and even then took 12 minutes for the barkeep/waitress/delivery driver/electrician to get around to me.
