Came here with my kids and their plus1, we all had great sandwiches! The shop was clean and packed with customers, likely for the good food. Service was prompt kind and helpful. Cool place to hit in Fallon if coming through or if you have visitors! read more

We were in town for a craft show and stumbled upon the slanted porch. Such a cute place with great service and great food. Hubby and I split the Ruben and fries and it was delicious and a large portion. read more

I have to be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect in Fallon... but the sandwich blew my mind! I ordered "The Pinion" and it was without a doubt the best sandwich I've had in a long time. Roast beef, dill havarti, and the most buttery Dutch crunch I've tasted. 10/10. I told my wife I'm bringing her out there just for this. read more

Food was fresh and well prepared. Service was excellent. We'd stop here again - it was great.

Was recently in Fallon and saw this cute restaurant so decided to stop in for lunch. It looks like a house from the outside-very cozy and welcoming on the inside. They have a full bar but we ordered some delicious iced tea that tasted freshly brewed. We had the half sandwich with soup of the day (clam chowder) and the salad trio with scoops of tuna, chicken and egg salad. The tuna was my favorite and everything was very good with good service. read more

Delicious lunch on a beautiful day. Ate outside while the weather was warm. We had the Steak salad, Half Cottonwood Sandwich and soup. Washed them down with ice tea and strawberry lemonade. The soup of the day was Chicken Florentine. So good, another bowl was ordered! Great service too. Wish we had room for dessert: Brownie and White Chocolate Crème Brûlée! We love this place and highly recommend it! read more

This place is awesome! Had a very nice vibe to it like you are at your grandmas house. All the waitresses were super friendly and the food was bussin. I couldn't believe how great this place was AND they had sweet tea and I'm a sucker for some sweet tea. Definitely come eat here! read more

During a work trip with another coworker (who also Yelps we learned on our road trip) yippee, since she previously resided in the area I told her that I was researching early in the morning and the two spots she mentioned were the two I scoped out on Yelp. It was pretty busy making it over past noon, but we received immediate seating. The staff were warm and attentive although the place was buzzing. I went with the Christo which was a take on the Monte Cristo, the sandwich was stuffed to the brim and they brought it out nice and hot. I liked the sauce adding in some sweet to the sandwich and I ordered the side lemon poppy salad which I enjoyed! I was eyeballing the Creme brulee but did not order, but would love to come back to try some of their desserts. This was a great dining experience in the city of Fallon. read more

We were recommended by someone to come here for lunch and unfortunately we were pretty disappointed. We came on a Saturday around 2pm, the place barely had anyone there and we still waited at least 30 mins for our food which was just sandwiches and fries. After waiting for that long, they brought out the wrong sandwich for me and we had to wait for them to remake the correct one; mine did not come out until we had been there for 40 mins. The sandwiches themselves were pretty average, I got a tuna salad sandwich and my husband got the Rueben. The best part was the fries, definitely worth the upgrade to get those! However, the upgrade is at least $2 more which made it about $18 for a sandwich and fries which felt pretty pricey for lunch. She was supposed to bring us both a side of ranch but only one of us got that. With the wait time, wrong food delivered (with no discount or anything for the extra wait), price, and average food, I'd say it's closer to 2 stars than 3 stars. I give 3 stars for a place that was okay but had no redeeming qualities about it, and only give 2 stars if there were actually negative things about the experience. I wanted to like this place but am sad to say it did not live up to the hype. read more

The Cottonwood Sandwich is absolutely fantastic. It's not little deli slices. There is lots of meat and it's chopped turkey so it has texture. The Salsa has the flavor you need that makes it as delicious as it. The service was super fast. Even though I ordered to go, they found out name and got me my food super quickly and they were extremely nice. Ambience is very "American". There is a lot of American memorabilia, including red, white and blue color inside. A very homey spot to stay and eat at. read more

This place is a Fallon staple. But don't take any time quotes on their takeout for granted. We ordered at 1145, we're told pickup at 1210, and it's 1235 and we're still waiting for two sandwiches and a salad. Disappointing from a place that's usually awesome. We may have to walk out without getting our meals due to work. read more

I came to visit my hometown and my parents and had to stop by one of my favorite restaurants from when I was in highschool: The Slanted Porch! What a quaint and cute place, both with a cafe' vibe, indoor and outdoor seating, and a bar. All in a cozy house, with good company. We definitely had a blast, and it's as I remembered it. I love how all of the dishes are named after notable areas around the city, it's great! I opted for the spinach salad and added a grilled chicken breast, it was delicious! The bacon poppyseed dressing was absolutely scrumptious and I truly enjoyed it. My husband opted for the spicy chicken sandwich, and while it was good, he was hoping for a bigger kick, but otherwise it was great. My mom got the Taylor Street sandwich and my dad also got the soup special of the day, both seemed to be enjoyed! The service was phenomenal and with a smile, I certainly missed this whenever I visit. I can't wait to come back when I get a chance to! read more

Very delicious food and friendly staff. I ordered the clam chowder and the shrimp tacos. I also tried their seasoned black tea which tasted like Christmas in a glass. Usually when I order clam chowder I always find lots of sand in my clam chowder but not this time. Definitely recommend to anyone traveling through Fallon. read more

Once a home, now a restaurant. Food was delicious and the staff is friendly. One of my favorite Fallon spots.

I am a big fan of the Slanted Porch. My only complaint is that they aren't open long enough, being open for lunch only for a few hours each day. But that is made up for by the fantastic burgers and desserts. The staff is very nice and the atmosphere is chill. Overall, I love eating here! read more

Stop by here after picking up a Frey Ranch new release. Had a reuben half sandwich and soup. Both were pretty nice. Sitting on the bar, it was interesting to see all the squadron badge they had up that must have came thru the Top Gun school nearby. read more

Pros: Tasty food. Poppyseed dressing was really good. Decent portions. Cute atmosphere. Friendly servers. Cons: Don't order the chicken if you aren't looking to have a leisurely meal. Several tables got served before us, and our server said it was because we ordered two meals with chicken and the chicken "takes longer." Also the spicy chicken sandwich was yummy but definitely not spicy. Also, the side salad was sad....... Just greens. I would give them another try. read more

So cute inside. Very amazing service. The food is sooo good!! We are visiting for the weekend and we're told to give this place a try. So happy we did. A wonderful little gem. Service was great, very friendly. Menu had a lot of choices. Spinach salad was delicious.

Such good food and for an affordable price!! Our waitress was so sweet and helpful as well! Got the half sandwich duo and it was perfect portion, fresh and tasty. Bloody Mary's were delicious and the vibe inside and out is very cozy. We got a stamp card as well, so definitely coming back! I review this restaurant after months of eating there. I don't remember much about this place other than my wife and I did not care for the overpriced food. It was almost a joke. I give 2 stars since my wife says the strawberry lemonade was amazing. read more

Went to Slanted for lunch. Special was the meatloaf sandwich. So that's what I had; with a side of vegetable beef soup. I'll be honest: the meat loaf looked like the meatloaf we used to get in the Navy. Gray/pale looking. Like it was premade and shipped in. It tasted okay....but just okay. And the sandwich came with mayonnaise on it. Really? Mayonnaise on meatloaf? Yeah, no. The vegetable beef soup tasted good, had a ton of veggies in it....and one (maybe two) tiny little pieces of ground beef. Service was excellent; I sat outside because it was a beautiful day. Overall: will I go back? Probably since our lunch choices are so limited in Fallon. Will I be happy about it? Probably not. Will I order any meatloaf whatsoever here again? Nope. $26 (including tip) for lunch. Overpriced for sure (I'd go so far as to say WAY overpriced for a sandwich and a bowl of soup). read more

This is a gem of a lunch spot in an unexpected location. A friend and I took a day trip to Fallon to go to some farms and enjoy the fall color. This was our first stop and the weather was perfect for outdoor dining. I got the steak salad which was cooked perfectly and tasted incredible. My friend got the salad trio (egg, tuna, and chicken) which we were told are made fresh daily. The salads were all delicious and I am quite particular about salads. The service was excellent, the ambiance quaint, and the food was divine! read more

Always stop by here when in Fallon for work. The prices are slightly high at first glance for sandwiches and salads, but it really is worth it. Highly recommend the Cristo! Small restaurant so just keep in mind there will only be so much seating and they do fill up quite often when there are large groups in town for training. A hidden gem in a town where tbh, options are few and far between! read more

A 5 star experience! During our recent day trip to Fallon, we made a pit stop at The Slanted Porch for lunch. The weather was perfect for outdoor dining - which is my preference these days. Indoors, the restaurant was well-decorated and social distancing was implemented. Outdoors, the tables were clean, sanitized, and located in a mix of sunny and shady spots. Sometimes when you sit outside, it is easy to be neglected. That was not the case at The Slanted Porch. Our server was friendly, prompt, and familiar with the menu. Both their drinks and food menus had enough variety to satisfy anyone. I ordered a half of the Taylor sandwich and a cup of their Soup of the Day. On the day we visited, the Soup of the Day was curry carrot soup. It was exceptional! Since we were sitting outside, the soup cooled off pretty quickly so it could have been served at a hotter temperature but overall it was lovely - a perfect texture and flavor all around. The sandwich was also good but the soup stole the show. Our party of four also shared a plate of their freshly made fries. The fries were perfectly crisp and salty. Overall we had a delightful meal! The Slanted Porch truly is a must-visit when in Fallon. read more

Excellent food!! What can I say, but I had to start off with the wonderful lunch! Drove to Fallon for lunch and it was so worth it! Service great, food great! We had reservations which was a good thing because they are a busy place! Our server was prompt and friendly and we got water refills with lemon in cute mason jars without having to ask. I chose a half salad with steak, blue cheese and creamy balsamic dressing. It was all I could do to not lick the plate! More then enough food without being stuffed. Would love to try their dinner menu, so many choices! Seating also outside in nice weather. read more

Great sandwich, got the Reuben . Friendly staff. Good service. Clean. Definitely recommend!

Not great. Today I had the western burger and fries. They were ok. Nothing to write home about. I also had the 15.00 crème Brule, totally not worth it. I have never paid that much for any dessert Ian's won't ever again! Rip off. I was hopeful about this place- but it's only busy because there isn't a lot here.
