This place is a disaster. Tried to order screens in May. Finally gave up. I was working with Paul (one of the owners). I will give him the benefit of the doubt that he is just incompetent. They were efficient at first. Got back to me with a quote which we agreed upon. Rick (another owner) came out and took measurements. Then Paul lost my order. When I called he wasn't apologetic at all. He asked if I still wanted the screens and that it would take another couple weeks. A month later when I called back there is no record of my order. An amazingly incompetent business. The staff don't have a clue about operations or customer service. We tried for five weeks to place a simple order for a custom shower glass. We went there three times and spoke twice on the phone to place our order for one piece of glass. The staff gave us the run-around and, in the end, we discovered that our order was never completed. What a waste of our time. Thank God we didn't pay them and found a less-expensive shop in San Jose that promptly filled our order. read more

I am very happy with service from The Skylight Place. They did three different small projects, one window was cracked, the insulation seal along the french doors was worn out, and my BBQ burn up the sealing around the bottom of one window. The first guy came out and assessed everything, very kind and professional- one week wait for that appointment. Three weeks for my order to come in, and the second guy was fast, efficient, and extremely professional his name was Sushil. I did feel their labor flat fee was high, asked for some consideration and Paul was very reasonable with me. I would higher these guys again. read more

High Quality Glass & Excellent Customer Service! I have mirrors from The Skylight Place in my bedroom, bathroom and gym. The folks at the skylight place are very helpful and friendly. My last purchase was two large mirrors for my gym, and when the mirrors were unable to fit in my car, they provided a delivery service which made the entire process easier. I spoke with Paul and Heather at the store front, and they are both friendly and kind people. I met Enrique, Mark and Aaron during the delivery service and they were all very kind and helpful as well. The delivery was clearly thought out and considerate, the mirrors arrived with padding on the back, protected corners at the base, and a mold for installing on the wall. I've had some doors installed and they were not installed properly and they did not come out and fix the problem and they over charged more than other companies in the area, especially for labor. Dropped off a couple of screen doors at the beginning of the month for repairs, was told they'd be done in 2 weeks due to staff shortage, which I understood. Got a call the other day saying they were ready for pick up and when my husband went to get them it turns out they were not ready. I called to clarify and the guy was super rude and told me "welcome to reality, we are short staffed" He did not need to be RUDE nor have an ATTITUDE. We picked up the doors and took them to OUTDOOR SUPPLY HARDWARE. They had them ready in less than 24 hrs, cheaper and EXCELLENT customer service!!! read more

i've used this business for decades. They provided all of the skylights in my house! They used to be reliable. However, the last time I dropped off a screen door for repair, they took eight weeks to get that simple screening job done. We kept phoning them to ask on progress, and they kept saying maybe next week. On one call, they could not even locate our screen door! I got a quote for 4 skylight screens which are up high...cost $800...fine. then I see the cost of labor and almost fell out my chair! $1800..Yikes. So I called to find out that the hourly labor charge is $150 per hr for one person and that the quote is for 2 people for 8 hours? WTF? Outrageous!!!! what a rip off. That is crazy expensive. Very poor customer service. After placing my order and receiving a commitment, the products I ordered were never completed and delivered.

We had 4 screen doors repaired with pet grilles added to each, and one window screen repaired - all were very nicely done, adjusted and installed. We also had two old framed shower doors and a splash screen replaced with frame-less versions. The new doors and screen look great, Sushil and Pablo did excellent work, and the removal, clean up and new installations went smoothly. We are very pleased with our entire experience. I was looking for a security screen door ,with a stainless steel mesh that would let the air flow through ,but not my 84 pound Boxer dog. I found a perfect screen door at the Skylight place . Sushil brought the door out today ,precisely measured and fit the frame in first ,then installed the heavy duty door ,and finally an inside pet grill to protect the door.
