I had a bad experience dealing with Sandman glass. After measuring the shower it took 5 visits for them to get the glass enclosure installed. I've used Sandman twice in the past 5 years for new blinds and they did an excellent job, so when I needed a couple new windows In my unit I called on them and their expertise. One of the windows was very custom and the supply chain situations are making lead times long, but Sandman sales people were upfront with their commitment on timing so when I ordered I knew I was looking at a 6 month wait, but the windows arrived on time and installation was scheduled to my needs. Amazing to me the installers put in the new windows with excellent work and cleanup in just 2 hours. I thought I might have to paint around the new ones, but they fit so well and were caulked so nicely that you can't tell there was an installation. Horrible customer service do not use this vendor. Windows were delivered damaged scratched and broken. Jenny's response to our issues were unprofessional And her lack of compassion to for her customer is appalling. It was basically our fault for not opening the windows in their office -They took no ownership of validating the product they were handing over to us was delivered as expected "not damaged". We ended up having to repaint and fix broken windows which as you can imagine is outside of our area of expertise. My recommendation is to go work with a vendor who cares about their customers this is not one of them. read more

We are very disappointed with Sandman. We had them come out and give us their thoughts on our commercial door. They recommended new weatherstripping, caulking, replacing the threshold and some general tuneup tweaking. They gave us a $500 bid and we went ahead with the work. They came and worked for a few hours and left --- we found the door completely inoperable & could not be opened.( the lock would not work) I called multiple times (daily) and they stated they would get someone to come out to fix -- NOT!! We finally gave up and called a locksmith who was able to fix the door so that it could at least be opened and locked/unlocked. The door still doesn't work properly(it is partially sprung). A window was unexpectedly broken so a quote was asked for sending them the dimension. A quote was emailed back. I had to wait several months to get back to fixing the broken window, but Sandman honored the quote. They can out as scheduled, took the window out, replaced the glass, and reinstalled the window very quickly. Perfect job. Very pleased with everyone at Sandman. read more

I went to Sandman Glass about a week ago to get a quote for my shower encasement replacement but I wanted to keep my original glass. The lady behind the counter quoted me around $1100. I said I be willing to pay $1000. She said that would be fine and proceeded to make an arrangement to send someone out for measurements. Sure enough a few days later Cody shows up to measure. Things were going great thus far. Cody said the bid would be ready no later than the next day. After a few days, with no quote I call them up and the manager gets on the phone to me and she says they won't do the work unless she orders the glass as well. I was shocked to hear this after all that has transpired??? Finally, after arguing that it was not my fault your employee quoted me and and sent someone to measure so she reluctantly and that she would give me a quote and I could take it or leave. Well... the quote came in at over $1400. This made me furious and she finally knocked off another $100. After arguing that this was all there fault.... I've never heard from her again. I immediately went to The Skylight place and they were happy to accommodate !!! I just can't believe, in this day of customer satisfaction that this lady (supposedly the mgr.) threats customers like this ??? read more

Don't use these people!!! I made the decision to get new windows because I had just had a baby and my house needed better insulation. So all of this was something I needed and needed quickly. This is everything that went wrong while working with them : *I wanted grids in the windows (mentioned over the phone, in person, and in email to match a previously installed window (not through them)), there were none and getting them correct was 1-2 months longer. *The 2 windows in my living room were way to small and they had to do modifications to the opening to get them to fix. *They didn't tell me until done with modifications at the end of the day, that I would have to do drywall work to make it look acceptable. *When I told Chris (the residential rep) that I wanted the correct size windows to avoid drywall modifications, he said we were already on the schedule to have it fixed. Leading me to believe that they would fix the drywall for me. Since they screwed up the measurements in the first place. *After the fact told me that they were never going to fix the drywall and "if I had read the contract I would know they don't do that". Which obviously I wouldn't have allowed that instal had I known... it took me 3 days to tape and mud and sand and paint the drywall as I can only do it while me baby is sleeping. *They gave me the wrong bay window (what I wanted doesn't exist, because they don't do custom glass work; despite being a glass/window company). So they just ordered it, regardless of the fact it was incorrect and never told me that what I want doesn't work for my house until after it had already come to my house to be installed. *The worker told me that the correct bay window had already been ordered, keep in mind that the right bay window doesn't exist, unless custom (which they don't do). *They gave me the wrong size garden window. *When they finally installed the garden window, they did so with no support brackets and then lied to me and said they left them at the show room (when really they never had them to begin with) (NO SUPPORT BRACKETS!!!) (which voided the warranty upon install) *Jenny (they're in office/order stuff woman) stopped communicating with me all together after I let her know how upset I was with the whole process. *The owner refused to speak to me when I tried to contact him to let him know what a terrible job his employees were doing. *After I agreed to take the incorrect bay window off their hands at cost to be installed by a contractor that I now have to hire to build me the correct frame, they showed up for delivery without the window!!!???? All they had was the brackets that I demanded that they order for me. The most unprofessional and incompetent company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Absolutely outraged at their inability to do their job and lack of customer service. I can't believe this company has been in business for so long. They don't care about their customers and did the bare minimum to fix these issues and end this nightmare experience. Save yourself the trouble and just don't!! Don't even call them. The fact that I needed these windows so badly made me allow all of this bullshit and I honestly just wish I had never called them. I would bet that any other company could have done a better job. I literally could have gone to Home Depot and ordered and installed the windows myself and done a better job, but my need for it to be done quickly made me decide to go the now obvious, wrong route. After demanding a deposit, they ordered the materials, supplied a drawing and scheduled the repairs. When it was pointed out that the wrong materials had been ordered. One of their competitors couldn't be bothered to get back to me for a few days, and when they finally did their estimate didn't look nearly as nice and their quote was higher. Rather than write a book about unnecessary and bad experiences with Sandman, I'll briefly summarize my customer experiences: Poor staff communication and management skills, including the owners. Poor staff and customer coordination and follow up skills. Lack of quality inspection and quality control of the glass received from their vendors, instead inspecting their glass at the customer's home on the day of delivery. Lack of glass vendor and customer management. A knack for not improving upon or learning from their problems, order after order (glass counter top, bathroom mirrors, shower door). Nice showroom which displays good quality products...but downhill from there. One positive comment is that their installers are good...too bad the front end of the business is not as good as the back end installers. I'm done with them and cancelled the shower door project. Definitely a great company to work with! I was in a bit of a panic when i had a broken mirror to deal with, but Sandman took care of it. The office was helpful when i called but seemed pretty busy... And i was a bit uncomfortable at first with someone coming out to get the sizes for my bathroom mirror, although my husband assured me they could handle a complex job. The gentleman presented himself in a professional manner, he was very knowledgable, polite and quick to gather the info he needed. He even took the time to present a few ideas for our shower, which i was all for! Our company ordered new glass front doors from Sandman Glass last October. We finally got them installed in March! We had placed a deposit (which they held) from the beginning and we were not communicated with about the status of our order or any reason for delays. In fact we called monthly and left messages inquiring about the status of our order and did not receive any calls back. Finally we were able to reach a different contact person who was more responsive but it did nothing to hasten the delivery or installation of our order. We do understand that there was a tragedy in the company so we can take one month off for that but we were incredibly disappointed with the service we received. We would have asked for our deposit back and used a different provider, unfortunately there are no other commercial door companies in town. Good luck! read more

I needed a replacement glass table top for an outdoor patio table. I called around and was told it would cost too much and I should get a new table. Not what I wanted to hear. Then I contacted Sandman glass and found myself talking with a knowledgeable, helpful person who understands good customer service named Melissa. She called me back when she said she would call me back, she either knew the answers to my questions or she got the answers. We finally decided on a type of glass and it was in when they said it would be in. It cost half of what I was quoted at another SC glass store and it was exactly what I wanted. I met the Sandman staff at a Chamber of Commerce mixer and was really excited to find a custom glass place right in my neighborhood. I was pleasantly surprised to find that their price for cutting and installing custom frameless shower doors was considerably less than Home Depot or Lowe's. Their install team was AWESOME. Very precise and careful, which I was hoping for, since we just remodeled. Only downside? They weren't that hip on me taking their picture inside my completed shower after the installation! (Just kidding here, they were completely professional, and I wouldn't expect them to.) I called on them for another job recently and again they did a beautiful job on our new sliding closet doors.
