These guys work clean, they're thorough, and they take pride in the service they offer. I took several different estimates for the replacement of windows in my grandmother's house, and not only were they reasonably priced, but they are also local to the area and helpful in what was the best way forward. I had delayed dealing with the failed seals, fearing that the entire window would have to be replaced and that the cost would be prohibitive. When the panes became so fogged thatI could no longer identify the birds feeding outside my kitchen window, I contacted Aptos Glass. What a find! They carefully measure the windows, and remove and replace just the glass at a fraction of the cost I feared. They responded quickly, scheduled the work promptly, and when the ordered glass arrived they were able to complete the work in my home in a couple of hours. My only regret is that I didn't contact them sooner! Thank you, Aptos Glass!

The window was not square, and they actually cut the window perfectly to size! (That may sound like a given, but no, it is not. One other place had cut a piece for me and they would only cut it one length, I needed 1/8 inch longer on one side.) They sanded the edges and loaded it up for me in my car. The glass is perfect, nothing fancy, just 1/8" but I was so happy with this result! Everyone I spoke to was delightful and very pleasant. I have had glass cut for other windows in the past, but never had such excellent results. I was especially grateful for the sanded (safety bevels) on the edges. I have had to handle fresh cut edges in the past, and I did not know that the sanding was available. Cut edges on glass is really stressful. We will be going back here for any glass needs.

Great communication and really helpful. Fast too! Gary cares about getting the job done right!…read more I had a shattered mirror with a wooden frame, oval in shape. I was able to bring the empty frame in to Gary's shop on a weekend and he got it fixed beautifully for me right away. Then, he spotted a minor flaw in the glass after he had already made the initial replacement. It was small enough that I may have never noticed, but Gary did. He instantly made plans to redo the piece at no extra charge and still got it back to me the very next day despite clearly having other projects and obligations. Great service, great attention to detail and willing to go the extra mile. He even attached new very sturdy hanging wire for the mirror as the mirror's glass had broken when the old wire (after more than 50 years of service on the wall at my mother in law's house) suddenly snapped. She will be very excited to see this mirror whole again. Wonderful!

I've used them at least three times in the past year--on two of my listings as well as at my own home--and every experience has been outstanding. One of my listings was vandalized, and J's Windows was able to replace the damaged double-pane windows incredibly quickly, helping us get the home back in showing condition with minimal delay. Most recently, a pane of glass in my backyard sliding door broke. I reached out to Heather at 1:35 p.m. on a Friday, and by 4:20 p.m. the window had already been replaced! I know that kind of turnaround isn't always possible, but I got lucky because they had the exact piece of glass in stock. Rather than making me wait through the weekend, Heather immediately sent her crew out to take care of it. Their team was prompt, professional, and left everything spotless. If you're in the San Jose area and need window repair or replacement, I highly recommend J's Windows. They consistently provide exceptional service and have earned my trust time and time again.

Chris did two frameless showers for me in 2016ish. We opted for the thicker glass both times…read more Chris took the time to explain the differences in glass, and he was extremely careful about his measurements. He had all the coolest equipment (laser levelers for both horizontal and vertical markings, etc.). It has been 3 years since the shower glass was installed, and both shower doors still swing perfectly. Nothing has come loose. If you are doing a remodel, MAKE SURE YOU PUT PLENTY OF LUMBER FRAMING BEHIND THE TILE TO HANDLE ALL THAT GLASS WEIGHT! It is one of the first questions Chris will ask you. My mother opted to ask another glass company in Seaside, CA to do her frameless shower in 2017. Chris was busy, so we just went with the other company. We wish we had waited for Chris. The other people were gruff, arrogant and they had to come back to readjust their work AFTER the glass door slipped and scratched the fixed glass panel. Their attitude about the scratch was like, "Eh, no big deal. These things happen." This type of bathroom glass requires a heart-surgeon mentality from the installer. Chris has that mentality. Don't risk it with anyone else.

The problem showed up two days after door installation. Large cracks appeared in the the threshold tiles under the bottom panel mounting bracket and under the bottom hinge. The hinge also looked damaged and the door stuck in the closed position. I reported this to Chris expecting a helpful voice on the other end of the phone: not! Without seeing anything he blamed it on the tile people, then emphatically demanded a charge of $500. per visit to deal with it. I was quite surprised at this turn in demeanor from him! I had no option but to have him come out to remove the door. When he removed the door we both discovered that the door glass itself had damaged the hinge. But Chris was still insistent that the tile guys did a bad job. To figure this out I talked with the hinge manufacturer and determined that the hinge had been installed backwards, which led to stress on the tile and damage to the hinge. Chris was still not cooperative. Fortunately the tile people were terrific. They rebuilt the broken tiles, properly installed an identical replacement hinge and offered to do it at no charge. I happily paid them, JC Tile in Seaside, CA, what I would have paid Chris. I Do Not recommend Showcase. Beautiful door, not of their doing, and Chris, the owner, turned out to be dreadful to work with. Don't do it!

Now if they initially estimated 8000$ and then after the"confirmation" they come back and say " the specific job requires an additional 5000$ well that kind of changes things and I'm stuck paying the 200$.
