Review is for the Sicilian Butcher:
This is a pricey restaurant - lasagna $27. However you must try their $18 lunch specials. Considering it now costs $15 to eat at McDonald's or Chick Fil A, run to Sicilian Baker for some real food served on real (really big) plates.
The lunch special lets you choose a starter and a main and add a small dessert for $2 ( I didn't have room for) but "baker is in the name so next time. I chose the two bruschetta - capresse and the cherries with balsamic. OMG by far the best bruschetta I've ever eaten! Ten out of ten.
I also chose the chicken parm and if you read my review of Verona, I'm on a quest to find good chicken parm. The serving was very large with a generous side of pasta with pink sauce. Pasta cooked perfectly. The chicken not so much as it was overcooked and tough breast meat. It really astounds me that the only places that can cook chicken white meat so that it's not tough are fast food places and Babe's chicken house. This might be the last time I try chicken parm. And it was such a let down after the incredible bruschetta.
My friend ordered lobster bisque and a pig and fig sandwich that came with skinny fries. Our server said fries were coming out as they had gotten cold and were being remade! Pride! I tasted soup and sandwich and they were excellent. So there are certainly excellent choices on the lunch special menu. I forgot to take a photo of that menu as it is not on the website.
The restaurant is comfortable with a black, white and red decor Italian style. The plates and bowls are almost comically large and took up our table top. But it's what's on them that counts.
My friend and I have already planned our order for next time. And we won't forget to try the bakery! read more
