Staff is helpful, prices are great, especially good if you're just learning a sport and don't want to spend a ton of money. Also, I get my skates sharpened there regularly. Anyone who plays knows the comment on skate sharpening is ridiculous, but in case hockey isn't your thing and that review sours you to the store: everywhere does overnight skate sharpening. Usually someone comes in in the evening and sharpens all the skates collected for the day, and not necessarily the person who's working the store. I've never had my skates sharpened anywhere but a dedicated hockey store that will do it while you wait, it's standard.

Field & Stream is a great superstore for outdoors, fishing, hunting and camping enthusiasts!…read more This Field & Stream store is located on the former Wal-Mart site at Consumer Square in Big Flats. This outdoors superstore has a great selection of outdoor gear and supplies with several departments under one roof including: camping, outdoors apparel, camo gear, hunting, dog training supplies, auto accessories, electronics, guns, archery, knives, binoculars, fishing & tackle, footwear, food, snacks, souvenirs, gifts, kayaks, and more. There are several clearance of items on sale throughout the store. Name brands such as North Face, Columbia, Under Armour, Carhartt, and more are sold here. Field & Stream is also fun place to visit too with stuffed game displays (elk, bull moose, bear, deer, buffalo & others) throughout the store including the large mountain of animals in the back of the store. There is a warm fireplace with comfortable chairs at the front entrance, though the cold draft from outside blows in too. This place is very similar to Cabela's and Bass Pro Shops, but on the smaller scale here. No aquarium or shooting gallery, and no snack bar here, but they sell food such as beef jerky, candy, fudge, dried camping food, jar goods, and spices. I shopped here for some shirts and pants and there were some decent styles in the clearance racks, but most of the good stuff was for really big guys XL-4XXL. In all, I like this big outdoors store and it gives me another option between Cabela's and Bass Pro Shops. I also shopped at the Field & Stream store in Altoona, PA, which has an identical layout and very similar decorations.

On the app some of the colors had gotten clearanced and the color he liked in the store was one of those marked down online to 19.47. The cashier looked at the app and scanned the item which was still coming up full price in the store. The cashier asked if I wanted him to ask a manager I said sure can't hurt. The employee said cause it was a clearance item it couldn't be price matched. I said ok well I'm not paying full price for the shirt I don't need it that bad so I headed to my car. That's when Chris came all the way to the parking lot to tell me they would absolutely match the price and there had been some confusion. He said they wanted to make sure I got what I wanted. Thank you to Chris and Kamir the cashier for all your help today.

Normally, I'd just order what I need and have it shipped. Today was something different. Loaded up the family and drove 90 minutes to go to the store in Ithaca. It has the same high quality products but seems very small and short in inventory compared to the REI stores I've been to elsewhere. What really blows my mind is this is in ITHACA whose signature activity is hiking AND SENECA LAKE and they have no kayaks or paddle boards or really anything related to water activities. I was absolutely shocked as I wanted to look at some of those items and there is nothing here. Dick's sporting goods in godforsaken Binghamton has more water activity items than REI. I truly hope this is a temporary issue they will rectify. Huge disappointment.
