Best lemonade ever!!!!! The seating is interesting with the combination of tables and old couches, but overall the atmosphere is inviting and laid back. Love their coffee but the lady working at the register was rude. They were busy and she didn't know how to handle it. She yelled at the other employee to help and then told customers that they were going to have to wait because they were just too busy. Then she started grumbling about how people need to show up to work on time. It was almost $20 for 4 kids single scoop ice creams and an iced americano. I can't say I've been inside the actual shop, but I have watched numerous movies on it's walls during the summer. I especially remember watching the Princess Bride one year, it being a great movie made the experience even better. The whole affair was very friendly and neighborhoody. Stopped here looking for lunch during Hoopfest. Was at first disappointed by the lack of air conditioning because it was 102 & I had been outside all day but the food quickly made up for it - so glad we stumbled upon this place! Had an oven roasted turkey sandwich on focaccia and it was AMAZING. Boyfriend had a roast beef sandwich and he said it was the best one he'd ever had (and he gets them a lot!) they also gave us a "messed up" cupcake they had made as a sample since it was our first time there and it was DELICIOUS. on top of that everyone working was super friendly and welcoming. If we come back to Spokane again (hoopfest 2016?) we will definitely be repeat customers! read more

I've never left a Yelp review before but felt motivated tonight. The Shop is an interesting place with lots of art and decorations, and music on Saturday nights. I arrived and walked up to order. There were maybe 8 people already seated. I had to wait approximately 8 minutes before anyone came to the register. No sorry or thank you for waiting, just a what can I get you. We place our order and sat down. Approximately 25 minutes later the same employee came over and informed me that they didn't have the ciabatta and told me the available options. I picked and he went back to tell the employee who was making the sandwiches. We then had to wait an additional 13 minutes for him to make a grilled cheese sandwich and a turkey sandwich. When the food arrived I noticed that the bread was not the one selected, but that my son's bread was the one I had selected, so he didn't even ask the right person what kind of bread he wanted. The food was pretty good but the service was so horrible that they only deserve one star. read more

I grew up in thi neighborhood, yeah your in a neighborhood but you and the other businesses are taking over an already occupied areas and now it takes me over 15 minutes to get off the south hill when I used to make it to the north side in that time. Please move tell the farmers market to go somewhere else and stop shutting the f-----n roads down. read more

My love for this place is more about charm than coffee. The environment has a buzz and they have an interesting menu. This is an original.

I spend almost as much waking time at The Shop as I do at my house. Here's why: - Sipping on flavorful drip coffee while seeing/smelling/hearing the next batch of beans be roasted is possibly the best way to start a day. - Espresso drinks are consistently fantastic. They don't toss a less-than-perfect shot into your drink. Whereas the drink quality at most local coffee joints is a crapshoot, every employee here makes an espresso drink that's tasty even when the coffee isn't masked by sugary syrup. They even put a pretty design in your latte's foam, which is a superficial touch but shows pride in their product. - The food is delicious. I have not tried the pastries, but they have all kinds of tasty bagels and spreads, grilled sandwiches, and a killer veggie, pita and hummus platter. - The service is very local-y. They all remembered my name before I even learned theirs and employees routinely sit down and have conversations with their customers during down time. Not as quick an in-and-out as Starbucks, but you get a much better product. - The customers range from hipster musician/artist types to businesspeople to families to older people sitting and reading the paper. I have an aversion to "scene"-type local joints, so I appreciate the mixed crowd. I can sit there for HOURS and work because the atmosphere is easy and comfortable. Wi-fi is free AND not crappy. - The Shop is a converted auto body shop, so it has garage doors on the facade which are opened during the summer. They also play movies at an outdoor theater in the summer and year-round on an inside projector. I am a serious coffee-shop junkie who has scoured many cities for the perfect coffee shop. This was my first time coming to The Shop. It was exactly what I hoped it would be. A unique building and interior with a vintage back story/ambiance featuring plenty of drink options including alcoholic beverages. They have many options for food and sweets as well with omni, vegetarian, and even vegan options which I deeply appreciate. The entire staff was very catering and kind and double checked to make sure what I wanted to order was meat free. I chose a comfortable seat in the corner to read in. They have couches, chairs, stools, and benches so there is no shortage of seating. I ordered a mocha and a pita, carrot, cucumber, and hummus plate which they brought to my seat. I was surprised that the pita bread had been heated up despite them getting a sudden rush of customers. I moved to Spokane from Salt Lake City where there is no shortage of unique and quaint coffee shops. This place truly fit the bill and I can easily say it is now my new favorite!!
