Cute coffee shop that is galaxy themed is right up my alley, but unfortunately that's where it mostly ends for me. The staff is super friendly and attentive, even though we came in as to oppose to do the drive thru where there was a long line of cars. The boyfriend and I both ordered a 16oz oat milk latte with toasted marshmallow and he also got one of their breakfast sandwiches. When we received our lattes, neither one of them had any foam and the guys was too sweet for his liking. His breakfast sandwich, in his words was "just okay" and honestly, for a microwaved sandwich, that's about what one expects. As we were waiting we saw several dogs receive pup cups topped with mini bones, so that was super cute. Not sure if we will venture here again, but it's definitely a friendly place to check out if you're in the neighborhood. read more

I hesitate to leave this review, but only for selfish reasons. Galaxy grind is awesome. I want to share the love, but I don't want it to get busier than it already is My husband and I have been loyal customers for years. The employees know what we're going to order before we even get to the window. This might not seem too impressive, but we moved to the other side of the state over a year ago. We recently were back in the area and decided to stop by. They still remembered our drinks and breakfast items. The food is always good, the drinks are perfect. Morning staff is horrible!!! SUPER SLOW and always have disgusting attitudes!!! One in particular with long black hair and heavy makeup (don't know her name) is NASTY and rude every single time. You can tell she hates her job. Owner should really look into new staffing. Afternoon staff is completely opposite. They are amazing. Especially the young gentleman. I have given this place a few chances, but they just don't work for me. Don't get me wrong, they are friendly enough, and the price is very competitive. I just don't like the coffee I have received. There seems to be this burnt aftertaste no matter what I get. I am thinking maybe they steam the milk too hot. Also, I have had to start asking for an extra shot because they just seem to put too much milk in. I don't want to dissuade others from giving this place a try. They are very friendly and are trying hard I think. I am just giving my personal taste impression. You may like your coffee different than I do, so give these friendly folks a chance. I had a negative encounter at Galaxy Grind this morning. My coffee is sometimes missing some ingredient or I have to remind them to add the whip I requested. I can overlook those things when the staff is pleasant and helpful (which they usually are) but rudeness is something I cannot overlook. I have been a patron here for 4 years because I live in the McDonald neighborhood and I enjoy supporting small business. This morning one of the employees was rude and impatient. There were 3 to 4 cars on each window and I understood they were busy. I wasn't in a hurry so I walked inside to order my drink. This employee listened to my drink order but walked away after the first drink I listed. While I stood waiting quietly, someone else asked me for the rest of my order. Apparently there wasn't much communication between the 2 that were out front because the original person who started taking my order handed me the wrong drink. When I politely let her know what I had ordered she said "You didn't say you wanted pink" in an accusatory tone. I let her know that I had told her co-worker. I didnt mind that they got my drink wrong. That's easy to do when It's busy. It was the snide comment and the way she spoke to me that really bothered me. I work really hard and I like to treat myself to coffee on Fridays, but the last thing I want before I head to work is a rude encounter with the person handing me my coffee. After looking at their Facebook Page...I figured out who my server was. My co-worker has had negative encounters with this same person. I really don't want to stop going there, because I usually have service with a smile from everyone else. read more

Driving on Hiway 27, saw delicious chocolate chip cookies advertised. Whipped in to appease a sweet tooth. Plastic wrapped STALE COOKIE !! Hmmmmph !! Was really disappointed $3.25 for a Stale prepackaged pastry...there are too many yummy bakeries in the area to be selling this as delicious cookies'. Bummer ! read more

My hubby and I went here for the first time today for a breakfast date. Really cozy on the inside. They were busy at both windows, but they said hello to us immediately. Two gripes: they don't have a coffee syrup list, so we had to try to peruse their extensive selection by sight alone, and I gotta tell ya, my eyesight is bad, even with glasses. That was kind of annoying. Also, the sugar free syrups and the regular syrups are all together, which made it even more difficult to make a choice. Eventually, I decided on a sugar free white chocolate and regular lavender Americano with heavy whipping cream and a kaiser breakfast sandwich with bacon, and my hubby got a blended sugar free pancake coffee with the same sandwich, with sausage. Everything tasted awesome! The rolls were pillowy, with bacony, eggy, cheesy goodness inside-and piping hot! 2nd gripe: NO lock to the bathroom. There is a sign that says to ask for the key, but no keyhole. Very confusing, and made me rush to use the facilities, for fear of being walked in on! All in all, we will go back here. They serve Doma coffee and they're super friendly. Nice little spot! read more

The very best coffee barista's. They make the drinks right. I have had mochas from many places theirs is the best. The also have great lunch and breakfast items. I love the jalepeno breakfast bagel. All of the sandwiches and wraps are delicious too. And the espresso shakes are to die for I like Carmel. What else can I say but this is the best place, where "coffee chicks rock and old guys rule". I used to come here quite often, mostly the drive-thru, so-much-so that a couple of the employees knew what I was there for when I rolled up. I was in the area and needed a place to write a grant proposal; I waited for the two employees to not be busy before ordering, and during that time a wrong order was made for someone in the drive-thru. It was left by the sink for a few drinks. Once I was asked what I was thinking, I inquired about the wrong-made drink and asked what happens to those drinks, to which the young lady replied, "we either drink them or give them away." "Well, I don't normally do this but would I be able to have it then?" "You would have to buy it," she said, "for $4.50." I ended up purchasing a two shot americano, as per (once upon a time) usual, and tipped a dollar ~ $4.00. I hypothesize that I was sized-up by my missing front tooth to why I do not deserve the 'free drink', but who knows, I just know that I was clearly immediately accessed, judged, and determined that I am not worthy for an abandoned drink. Not sure why I'm the first person to draft a review for Galaxy Grind, but I always come here when I'm close and hungry. I try to support good, local businesses but bypass The Wake Up Call and definitely Starbux when I'm near the Grind. For lunch, I always go for their amazing half-sandwich & salad deal for $5 with the choice of Galaxy Grinder. I've also had the pleasure of their breakfast wrap and their breakfast Kaiser roll, which was my breakfast this morning. Uhm, sausage, egg, cheddar & CREAM cheese. Yeah, drool. I'm not a coffee drinker but I've noticed they are more visited for their food rather than their coffee and other beverages. They also have Powerball? Is that common? Don't know but they do. Their pastries come from Alpine Bistro (I think?) and their sweets from Sweetwater (I think?). Sorry for inconclusive details but this drafted review is way overdue. Their black coffee is just below top-tier, in my opinion, using Atticus as my local standard. Ownership changed within the last couple of years, and that was a positive change, as far as consistently pleasant customer service is concerned--their food and drink quality was always very good, and remains so. Their frozen drinks are fantastic. My favorites are the espresso shakes, including holiday specials, and a blueberry smoothie-shake thing--they use good ice cream in them, apparently, or at least that's an option I choose. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Highway 27 at 16th can be noisy, if outside. Inside is clean, bright, and modern. The one disappointment for me is that they don't stay open very late. I think it's 6 p.m. on weekdays and Saturday during winter, and earlier on Sundays. Weekdays and Saturday may get extended to 8 p.m. during summer, I'm not sure. read more

This is by far the best coffee place in town. AMAZING. So amazing I tipped my main barista $20 because she makes it just right EVERY TIME. I was having a really rough day one day and there was no one behind me waiting in line and she stood there and talked to me about how the day is going to get better.. and it did. Galaxy Grind is a daily pit stop for myself. I love their Lotus drinks, especially the Starburst Lotus with no cream. The 24 ounce drink is $4, the syrup is always mixed evenly and cold with the perfect ratio. Wake Up Call could take some tips from this place.
