It was fun to watch them make it and fill the cone. I love all things lilikoi so really wanted to go back and try that, but we never made it. Located in the Polynesian Cultural Center Marketplace. But if you're new to this, it's basically you choose your ice cream (dairy or non). Vanilla, coconut, yogurt or non dairy coconut ($1 extra). Choose your size, Keiki, regular etc Cup/bowl or waffle cone (+$1) For the price for the waffle cone why not and its fresh made cones. Choose your fruit and then the machine blends the fruit and your ice cream selection then it swirls it into your cup or cone. Overall it's pretty good. Took some family there and a few are non dairy (lactose intolerant) and they loved the non dairy. Even tried the ice cream as is before selection and said the non dairy was more creamy and tastier. I eneded up getting a keiki size (1 scoop), coconut and strawberry in a waffle cone. Bottom of the cone the ice cream didn't blend well. And the coconut ice cream was more of a ice milk type, did have some coconut slivers inside. Will try the non dairy next time. Lines were long as there were only 1 workers present and about 15 people waiting along with the ones already ordered and waiting. So service is a bit slow if crowded. Make sure you wait out front and listen for your name before they go back to taking orders and making orders while your order is in the freezer.

It's tucked inside Pounders at the PCC Hukilau Marketplace. There's no indoor seating, but there are plenty of tables scattered around outside, which makes it a nice place to hang out. The first thing you'll notice is how massive the cookies are. They come in a variety of flavors like chocolate chip, white chocolate mac nut, and s'mores, but the real star of the show (and the reason I keep coming back) is the cookie skillet. I usually go for the keiki size, which is honestly perfect for sharing. The family size is huge! The skillet itself is incredible--warm, gooey cookie with just the right balance of sweetness and a hint of salt. It's topped with a generous scoop of ice cream and your choice of sauce drizzled over the top. My go-to is the brown butter fudge. It does take about 15 minutes to prepare, but it's absolutely worth the wait. Pro tip: order it first, then take a stroll around the marketplace while it bakes. Already looking forward to my next visit!

Fortunately, I was on my way back to HNL from the North Shore, so decided to take a nice scenic route via the East side of O'ahu. Finding Chunky was easy as pie, thanks to the GPS and the instructions given by my SIL. Of course, you can't miss the PCC... I took a nice little walk thru, in the drizzling misty rain that so happened to be falling as soon as I stepped out from the parking lot. I must admit it's been a long time since I can remember seeing a show there. Mouth watering from memories of these cookies!

Then we ate it. And honestly, it was worth every penny. The ice cream was excellent. Kona coffee, ube, vanilla, chocolate chip cookie dough, strawberry, everything we tried worked. But the thing that made it special was the texture. The shaved/crushed peanuts, the macadamia, the way it all came together with the ice cream and crepe. Simple idea, but done right. Rich, crunchy, cold, soft, sweet and somehow not heavy. The service was the other surprise. The girls working that night were incredible. Warm, patient and genuinely sweet with my kids. They walked us through flavors, helped us figure out what to order and made the whole thing feel fun instead of transactional. My son loved watching the peanuts get shaved and the Super Smash Bros. setup was such a random, perfect touch. It gave the place personality. I came in thinking this was going to be overpriced dessert. I left thinking it was one of the best things we ate on the trip. Five stars. No notes. I'll absolutely be back.
