Located top floor of center stage (kiosk). Great concept don't know if it's all local products or brought in. But if you're new to this, it's basically you choose your ice cream (dairy or non). Vanilla, coconut, yogurt or non dairy coconut ($1 extra). Choose your size, Keiki, regular etc Cup/bowl or waffle cone (+$1) For the price for the waffle cone why not and its fresh made cones. Choose your fruit and then the machine blends the fruit and your ice cream selection then it swirls it into your cup or cone. Overall it's pretty good. Took some family there and a few are non dairy (lactose intolerant) and they loved the non dairy. Even tried the ice cream as is before selection and said the non dairy was more creamy and tastier. I eneded up getting a keiki size (1 scoop), coconut and strawberry in a waffle cone. Bottom of the cone the ice cream didn't blend well. And the coconut ice cream was more of a ice milk type, did have some coconut slivers inside. Will try the non dairy next time. Lines were long as there were only 1 workers present and about 15 people waiting along with the ones already ordered and waiting. So service is a bit slow if crowded. Earlier in the day we had a local tell us about this place so we decided to pay them a visit. We made a quick stop at a local park to take pictures of the beautiful scenery and we're ready for a cool treat. We met the owner's brother who was behind the counter. He truly made the experience personalized and inviting. He gave us some background to where the style of ice cream came from, New Zealand. The process is simple: choose from six different fruits and then choose your ice cream. They mix it up! The result is this amazing sweet delectable treat. The consistency is that of soft serve. I recommended getting the waffle cone. The softness of the ice cream and the crunch of the cone are quite tasty. I lived in New Zealand for a bit and this place is legit! The best I've had in the US (though not as good as the real thing in NZ). The ice cream is fresh and creamy just like in NZ. The service was quick and friendly. The two girls working were very attentive. The menu is brief and self explanatory. Pick a fruit, pick your ice cream base, and then which size. I'm not sure if you can mix fruits, but I forgot to ask. Once you order, they have you wait on the side and in a few short minutes, they call out your name/order. It was a pretty hot day so this began melting quickly, but it was so tasty, we finished it. The waffle cone was nice and crunchy and tasted fresh. I can't believe I forgot to take a photo but the ice cream is just that good, I was so excited and devoured it immediately! I've been to the Laie location but was so happy they opened their Haleiwa location, which is a bit closer to home for me. And when I mean close, it's really not that close, probably takes me 40 minutes to drive to their Haleiwa location but that beats the hour or more to get to Laie. But believe me, I will drive across the island for this ice cream, because really, it is that good! Their Haleiwa location is at the corner just pass the bridge, kiddy corner from Surf n Sea. You can find parking behind the shop or on the street across from the gravel/dirt parking lot. Why do I drive this far for ice cream? For starters, they are the only ones on island that I know of that mix in real fruit with their ice cream bases, resulting in a creamy soft serve texture. For the bases, they have vanilla, coconut, and dairy free coconut which is my go-to. I've tried the dairy free coconut on its own and it's amazing with or without a fruit add-in. I also love getting their waffle cones for $1 extra. Trust me, if you're an ice cream enthusiast and love fruit, make the drive and get yourself some Sweet As :) read more

This is one perfect treat on a hot day. Came here twice during our stay in Laie. We tried yoghurt base and coconut base added fresh fruit, strawberry, pineapple, mango and lilikoi. I got the Keiki size ($6) because if I wanted the coconut base they only had enough for that size. However, even the Keiki size is pretty big and perfect for me! However, I felt that the mango wasn't that fresh and while I like chunks of fruit, I felt like it was super underripe/ too frozen so I probably would not have gotten that flavor, but I loved the strawberry! This store uniquely mixes fresh fruit flavors with soft serve ice cream base. They use real fruit such as mango, strawberry, pineapple, etc. The ice cream bases include vanilla, coconut, coconut (non-dairy), and frozen yogurt. They have 2 serving sizes - "keiki" and "regular" - and you can get it in a cup, sugar cone, or waffle cone. I got the fruit of the week, Lilikoi (Passionfruit), mixed with Mango and Vanilla soft serve. It was sooo good! The flavor is light and refreshing, but not too sweet, and the ice cream was super creamy. The employees are super friendly and welcoming too. While driving around the Island my wife and I chose to walk around the shops at the Polynesian Cultural Center in Lane. My wife was looking around for an salt afternoon snack and chose to order the fresh strawberry ice cream from Sweet as. They mixed in the fresh strawberries as they filled the home made waffle cones with coconut ice cream. It was delicious and very refreshing. I couldn't taste the coconut ice cream at first but when you get to the end there is pure coconut ice cream at the bottom of the cone which was really delicious. They have a variety of fresh fruit flavors but the star was the waffle cone. It is a thinner version of most waffle cones that makes the dessert even more delicate. We will probably stop here every time we are in the area. The cones are priced at $6 and after one bite we woofed it down and forgot to take a picture. read more

I checked out this place at the Polynesian Cultural Center! Man, is it good. They actually use ice cream made straight from the Hawaiian Island of Maui and use yummy frozen fruit. Went to Sweet As in Haleiwa for the first time after the beach. The prices were decent and I really enjoyed my vanilla and berry ice cream. Also found out they are dog friendly and you can buy your pup a yogurt cone with a dog treat. My pup loved her yogurt in a cone and really wanted more. Definitely will be returning. read more

It was ok and not worth the price in my opinion. We got the the keiki coconut ice cream with pineapple. It's different than Coldstone in that the texture was more like hard pineapple shreds, rather than fresh soft chunks or pieces. Something about it was off-putting. It was also more like soft serve texture even though they advertise as ice cream. It melted so fast that we did not finish it. The worse part was that it was in a tiny cup (instead of a bowl to prevent dripping), so it was dripping everywhere. I would not trust my non-existent kids with it. They do have vegan coconut ice cream, so that's a plus for vegan and lactose-intolerant people. read more

Such great ice cream! I was walking through the Marketplace and noticed this cute little ice cream shop that is new. A sign in front of it described it as real fruit ice cream. I can't stand a "strawberry ice cream" that has artificial flavors or colors in it so I was excited to try the real fruit ice cream.
