Wow! I never thought British food could taste so good! They let you taste everything. We only tasted 3 but decided on the Cottage Pie. Nice chunks of meat in a nice savory sauce with vegetables and topped with mashed potatoes. Includes a nice salad and a croissant. All dished cost $13.85! We shared the meal and were satisfied. We will definitely return.

Food is amazing and this guy is QUICK! For a cottage pie and 2 sodas plus a tip of 20%, it was $19. Has free samples of everything and is happy to give. Very nice guy.

Simple and delicious!! They have some seating on the sidewalk, and a convenient umbrella for the light rain. I loved the banger and mash: flavorful and hearty. And the service is efficient, as they proclaim!

    Ferries all day long.

Saucy sailor is a spectacular addition to downtown Kingston. The food is hot, delicious, and served up almost instantly once you get to the window. There's tons of outside seating for when it's not rainy. We like to get it to go, take it home and reheat it a few hours later, and it reheats perfectly. The ultimate comfort food, and the sauces: amazing! They are not called "saucy" for nothing. All their sauces for their different entrées are different, the curry spot on without being spicy. A warm chunk of bread to mop up the sauces with. Winter wonderful. Super charming people, delicious, food, and tons of fun.

I mean, even the music was drowned out by yelling and cursing. I'm not surprised we were the only ones in the whole place with such a weird vibe. The food came out before the drinks, which is odd because I didn't think the cocktails were that elaborate compared to a pastie. The cocktails (fat badger and the black hound) were good. The pasties were good too (lamb curry and the steak & mushroom) but the price relative to have big they are doesn't make it the best value and unless you're looking for a snack you'll probably need 2-3. We decided to order more food because we were still hungry but our waitress never came to check on us and all but disappeared off the floor when my husband went to request her twice! She may have been in the kitchen both times, but it's still annoying to have to play scavenger hunt to find a waitress in a pretty much empty restaurant. She eventually did some back and we did order more and she walked away without clearing the empty plates. The drink my husband ordered arrived long after we finished again. I don't understand how a single drink takes 3-4 times longer than food. It might be fun for a game day or to save on cocktails during the happy hour, but otherwise I don't think it's something you need to go out of your way for.

So I'm enjoying all the attention and the silence. Great conversations and phenomenal service. lol. I love that they use local ingredients. The flavours were special and the staff were precious. Most of our party celebrated the huge portions. We come here from Michigan's U.P. and Northern Wisconsin, where the pasties are bigger than yer head! I really dig their poutine and the sausage roll. Everything was prepared alright. Not spectacular. But there's a rather large conflict on something we from the east call a living wage surcharge. I've noticed in this state that companies are very transparent when charging it. I don't like that practice and I let management know this (not that they care). You could be tempted to withhold a tip but that's like comparing apples to oranges and not fair to the waitstaff. The fee is charged to help the restaurateurs cover the cost of paying their hourly employees, without raising the prices on the menu. It is my firm belief that you be upfront and honest about this fee. I feel transparency is underhanded and deceitful. This reflects on today's assessment of this otherwise enjoyable establishment. 05/25

The chicken pie is so savory and it tastes like all the good parts of a chicken soup but without the soup haha. The chicken is ground and the sauce is creamy, going very well with the golden flaky crust. The beef and beer pie is the star. I don't even wanna tell people because it's that good, I wanna gatekeep this pie to myself. It sells out of the fridge first so I had to get some hot to go ;) the filling has large, tender, soft beef chunks cooked with the juicy filling that has a earthy, hoppy taste from the beer. It really adds something special to the flavor. Highly recommend trying this one hot in the store! Lastly, the 'just beef' pie was also super yummy, the crust is thin and buttery, and the insides were piping hot. It's the perfect pie and a good size for one to fill you up if you're a medium to small eater, and two will do it for you if you're a big eater and wanna be stuffed. The decor inside this store is so on-theme, it's cute and hilarious. Very Australian! Seating area is clean and the pastries inside the cold case are so very delicious. The owner is a nice lady who is friendly and helpful with info about reheating the frozen pies. Definitely coming back every once in a while to stock up on the frozen pies for a lazy dinner night!
