I loved the selection of pastries they offered--the pandan pastry was definitely my favorite. My husband ordered the drip coffee over ice, and I got the Vietnamese iced coffee. Both coffees were excellent. The Vietnamese coffee was a bit too sweet for my taste, and it was served in a very small glass. I think it would have been even better with a little more coffee to balance the sweetness. For lunch, we ordered the kimbap and the egg bowl, and both dishes were outstanding. The only downside was that it took about 35 minutes for our food to arrive. However, the cafe was extremely busy and clearly backed up, so we didn't mind the wait too much--especially since the food was so delicious. The indoor space is quite small, but they do offer outdoor seating. I can't wait to come back and try more of their Asian-inspired pastries and dishes. What a fantastic addition to the neighborhood!

It's within the Johns Hopkins college campus & a neighborhood, so parking is really horrible. I ended up parking in a non spot and putting my hazards on. It's a cute little, but spacious place located next to an airport building. It's on the corner and has a nice little outside seating area with about 5 tables. Inside is bigger than it looks and has a nice amount of seating as well. Since my time was limited, I didn't really get to explore the menu like I wanted, so I ordered a hazelnut latte and a ham & cheese croissant. Their croissants looked so good, I wanted one of each. They also had several toasts on their menu. I'll have to go back for sure! Th service was regular, you order, they tell you how much you owe and you pay. I got in my car and couldn't wait. My first bite was like a bite into heaven. Every bite was the same way, so delicious & delicate. I wish I had two. The latte was perfect, just the right amount of hazelnut. Kanom Cafe is a must try!

The space is bright and simple, perfect for getting a study session in. The pastries looked so good I had to grab one. I was instantly drawn towards the garlic cream cheese bun because not a lot of places sell that and it's one of my favorites. This one did not disappoint. It was creamy, sweet, garlicky, and soft. The worker offered to warm it up for me since I was sitting inside and that made it 10x better. I'll definitely be back to try their coffee and for more delicious treats!

I was conflicted about waiting until the next bake schedule hour to try the elote cornbread, but had to save that for next time because we were short on time. We really enjoyed our bagels, they were very tasty, but I also felt like still good but overly hyped. They were good, don't get me wrong, but just a bit overhyped. I personally wouldn't wait in line over an hour for them as I have heard others share they have done in the past. As for the other pastries, they were fine. We were quite full from the bagels so maybe we didn't give them a fair shot, but they were just "fine" to us. Nothing spectacular or out of this world. I tried one thing here, so this review is based on that! Pekara was a charming and unassuming bakery. It felt very Eastern European and when we arrived around 10am, a lot of things were sold out. This is definitely more of a takeout spot, but you are able to sit there if you'd like. The person behind the cashier was really kind and patient. We tried the blueberry puff. And for what it's worth, this was the group's top pastry of the day. I love that they toasted it up for us. The pastry itself was buttery perfection and the custard inside was really nice. One of us bought sourdough bread to-go that seemed really delicious. I'd come back to this bakery to try more.

When I asked the man working there if there was a physical location I could visit he said they shut down the physical location and only did markets because they'd only get 20 people a day, but famers markets have hundreds of people, but here they are on Yelp. Anyways, I purchased (1) of these cinnamon roll pans (apple crumble flavor), and (1) puff pasty wrapped hotdog (allegedly 100% hormone free, grass fed beef). Total was $24. Were they tasty? Yes. Should it be $24 for (1) hotdog and (1) pan with two cinnamon rolls? Looking at the prices on Yelp... maybe not.

Just the tiniest little place you could ever imagine. The neighborhood is right out of the 1960s. One little obscure shop after the other. We got a couple of pieces of really good bakery and 2 excellent cups of coffee. Pulled up some comfortable chairs on the front porch and just enjoyed people watching the neighborhood. It was a really great time on a perfect day.

Like maybe order something you can eat on the go tbh. I ordered a strawberry croffle and a strawberry matcha tea latte. I crushed both of them because it was delicious. The whipped topping on the croffle wasn't thick and grainy or too light to where it instantly melted. It kept a shape while being light and fluffy and not overly sweet. The strawberry matcha latte also was pretty good. All in all I'd recommend this spot to anyone walking around the neighborhood and indulging in some shopping in the area.

I found another staff member to be rude when asking for a simple request such as a cup of ice. If you'd like to stay here and get some work done they do validate your parking which is nice but if you're working on the weekends they limit laptop use to a community table at the front of the restaurant. Overall, not the best experience but I'd return another day hoping I can try more of the menu and that the customer service is slightly better.
