It's a comfy neighborhood bar and grill that apparently has its fair share of regulars sitting at the bar. This week, nothing had changed. Everyone is super friendly and service is quick because it seems like anyone and everyone of the staff picks up orders at the window to get it to you hot. We started with Ty Webb Tots -- tots and jalapenos wrapped in bacon and cheese. Highly addictive -- so good! Next, we shared a pork tenderloin sandwich, because those things are huge! Our server even split the sandwich for us and served it up on two plates! Trust me, that was a welcome anomaly! Drinks are "spirit forward" as my son likes to say, and delicious. I was glad to be able to make this return visit.

We ordered mussels, jalapeño shrimp and a hummus platter to start. The smokiness of the mussels was a wonderful twist. It was served with some smokey beans and a crock of Mac and cheese. I ordered the Timber Mac. Mac with 5 different cheeses, chicken and smoked pork belly burnt ends. This easily was one of the best dishes I have ever been served. No joke you should order this. We rounded it of with two wood fired pizzas a Italian sausage with the sauce on the side and a Lobster topped white pizza. Both impressive! We had such a great time here. The service, Eve was beyond excellent. The manager also visited and made some menu recommendations ( which we followed). The wood fired open kitchen and the racks of split oak wood throughout left you knowing something special was happening to your meal. We hope to return to Omaha someday and Timber Wood Fired Bistro will be our first stop! Thank you for making this memorable! Ti

The location in Countryside Village is a plus too, with a few other bars and spots right around the corner. Personally, the cocktails run a little sweet and the food a little heavy and salty for my taste, though I'll say that's a pretty common profile in Omaha restaurants, so it may land just right depending on what you're used to. One exception worth calling out is the lunch special: the Timber Hacked salad and soup combo for around $22 is a nice, more balanced option and probably my favorite way to eat here. Lots of people love this place and it's easy to see why. Just know your palate going in.

I drive by Dundee's Place almost every day, but never considered stopping. That is, until a very good friend suggested it. One of the draws was a big selection of bourbon! We didn't dive into the bourbon this time but I certainly noticed the big selection. Right on! My friend recommended ordering the crab Rangoon's as an appetizer. Man, oh man, the best I have ever had! They were light and crunchy, the filling was spot on. The dip perfect. This is an appetizer I never think to order, it will be on my receipt the next time too! The sandwich was perfectly assembled, in the style of Crescent Moon. It was packed with good solid pieces of meat, not deli sliced rubber, but chunks of corned beef. It comes with homemade (restaurant made), hand cut French fries. If you're familiar with Bronco's fries in Omaha, it's much like that.
