It was also really interesting how you didn't have one singular server, but instead, they all rotated and checked on you continuously. It was not traditional, but it worked very well. Maybe other restaurants should take note lol! Food was so incredibly fresh, pasta was hot. It was amazing. The only negative about the food is that they don't make their bread or desserts. It was shipped in from a central factory (and you could tell compared to how fresh everything else was). I also wish they had a fountain beverage station. Every drink you'd need to get was in a bottle in a big coke cooler. This place is definitely very small (I think they would benefit from making their shelving areas where they sell their pasta, smaller, and putting in more tables instead). You could also tell there wasn't enough room in the back for the employees because I was waiting in line for the restroom and had to move multiple times because the servers come in and out of there. There's only one little tiny restroom in the back corner. It was also really cool how you could see everything being made in the back. There was a whole factory behind a glass window where they were making the pasta fresh. It was amazing!! The building needs a facelift but everything else was AMAZING!!

However, once we were called to our table, our server (name sounded like Lalishka, possibly misspelled) immediately made the experience uncomfortable. She sort of tossed the menus at us, never checked on us, and we had to ask multiple times for refills. Not once did she clear dishes or ask if we needed anything during the meal. What made it more confusing was that she seemed very friendly and attentive with other tables she appeared to know, but with us there was zero effort and a noticeably hostile tone from the start. We were polite, said please and thank you, and were patient the entire time, so we truly don't understand what caused that treatment. At the end of our meal, another waitress (who was very kind) noticed we were still sitting there and brought us boxes, a bag, and our check--something our assigned server never did. I understand this is a busy place, but to have almost no interaction with our server aside from being seated and having food brought out is not acceptable service. The food is excellent, which is why we came back a second time, but the service we received tonight made what should have been a nice family dinner feel uncomfortable and disappointing. Management should address this. Experiences like this matter. Do better, or this may not be the right fit for someone working in a customer-facing role.

It's located on top of The Alida hotel (also one of my fave boutique hotels) in the historic River Street district. I've had the chance to visit The Lost Square both during the winter and this past week during the summer. They have a great view of the river and cozy lounge seating, as well as a full bar. The first time I visited was near Christmas and it was freezing outside, but they had a burning fireplace and the cutest little enclosed glass houses you could sit in to enjoy your drinks. During my recent visit, we had our 1 yr old son with us and decided to have dinner there and enjoy the weather. I had the Valencian Spritz (reposado, orange aperitif wine, fresh orange, white pepper, and cava) which was the perfect summer drink. My husband had the Soft Light mocktail (zero proof gin, papaya, kefir, and saline). For food, we started with the Labneh dip topped with olive oil, za'atar, and honey with fresh pitas on the side. Wow, this has got to be the best pita I've ever had. They were so fluffy, warm, and well seasoned. We even got a second order. The labneh dip was phenomenal -- highly recommend for an appetizer or just a snack. We also shared to the falafel bites and the Alida Burger which was very tasty! We'll definitely be back for another visit the next time we're in Savannah!

We have found that about 4 total items does the trick for filling us up but will sometimes go rogue and get 5 because there are so many good options on the menu! Pictured here are the asparagus, octopus, pizza and the mafaldine pasta. Not pictured is the pistachio cannoli as that only lasted about 10 seconds in front of us - they are amazing. I am truthfully not a huge asparagus fan but the wife loves it...and Lucia may have converted me and was probably my favorite item of the night. The staff is friendly and are very quick to grt drink orders and water refills. They also were kind enough to give us a to go cannoli for my wife's birthday, which was a very nice gesture.

Expect seasonal menu changes at Lucia Pasta Bar. Also, while seated at the bar overlooking the open kitchen, we noticed the restaurant is very focused on portion control and pasta is carefully measured out which explains a more modest serving size. Most likely you won't need a "To Go" box and will finish your meal in entirety. One of my favorite items here is the Caesar Salad which our waiter asked if we wanted to share. Yes, please - we assumed it was large enough to share and indeed it was. Very good. The Tagliatelle Bolognese ($25) is a classic and yummy. A reorder. Also enjoyed was the Campanelle ($22) with crispy shallots. The Grandma Jacovino's Steak Pazzalaiolo, ($38) topped with marinara and mozzarella arrived smothered and covered, and made me wonder what the toppings were hiding. We ordered the steak, in addition to our own entrees, to be shared. Unfortuantely, we all found the steak fell short of expectations and was noticeably chewy and lacked tenderness. Not a reorder. This Starland District restaurant is small and will require a reservation. You'll find yummy classic coktails here ($14-$16) and a limited red and white wine menu.
