Jade Cloud Chinese Green Loose Leaf & Black Chocolate Black Tea.
    John K.

Wife bought a few selections for me here about 3 yrs ago on a girls' trip so we made a point to visit again when in town last weekend. The proprietors were more than helpful in discussing their teas selections. Open the jars to smell the dozens of different black, green, herbal & even pu-erh varieties, but then you buy the individually-packaged options. I replenished my chocolate black tea & then tried a Chinese green. Previously, I'd also tried the tropical green and crème brûlée dessert tea blend. Stop in & give it a try.

This is such a unique spot. Lots of delicious tea and seasoning blends and much more! Associates are knowledgeable and very friendly and helpful. I had the coconut oolong tea (iced) with toasted coconut sugar. It was a smooth and refreshing. Would highly recommend! I'm sure it would be just as good hot. I had a wonderful experience!

Sandy & Andy are two super lovely owners who take great pride in their product and love sharing the stories behind the origins. They are also great at sharing how to get the most from the teas you invest in. Truly a lovely shop and lovely experience! (Do note that they close at 7pm, not 8pm as noted on Google.)

Because i love it so much, I'm rarely disappointed in tea shops in general.... and this one was no exception. My sistah wanted some tea. My mum wanted some spices. Lucky for them I know my way around Yelp.. and so we found ourselves in the best of both worlds while walking through the doors of the Spice and Tea Exchange! I believe it was a husband/wife-duo running the place. As we walked in, mum went for the spices and the dude came up to help. Every spice and spice mix is in a large display jar to open and sniff (so are the teas). Mum probably would've gone through opening every jar in the store (which is what I ended up doing with the teas), but since they were closing soon she just told the dude what she was looking for and he pointed us in the right direction. She settled on a custom spice mix of a Spicy Thai Curry While mum was spicing it up I made a beeline for the teas! Two on sample, one cold (mystic dragon) and one hot (jade cloud), with house made simple syrups to add in as you please. Of course I tried them both. While doing so the lady of the store approached. She was super knowledgeable on every tea in the shop... opening the jars, telling me exactly what was in the mix, explaining the region it was grown in, etc. I ended up going with The Gypsy Hippie (minty, floral, herbal tea), Earl Grey Creme (has some kind of petals in it), and Jade Cloud (just a good Chinese green) and I can't wait to get back and try them all. They also had all sorts of tea accessories (pots, cups, strainers, diffuser) as well as some small cooking utensils and stuff to go with the spices. Bottom line? .... if you need Spices or Tea you can't really go wrong here.

The couple who owns this shop are the sweetest people I have ever met! I have been coming here since I moved to Savannah. We had a store with the same name in the town I left so I have so happy to hear they had one here. The second you walk in someone is greeting you and telling you the history about the store (It's the oldest one in the state) They also let you know you can pick up any jar and smell anything you would like. (Which during Covid I thought that wasn't all that safe but oh well) The store is laid out nicely. It isn't too overwhelming and each section is well organized. Sometimes if it gets a little too crowded you might start bumping into things but other than that it's perfect. I love coming back for each season and seeing the new teas they have. I came back during the fall and tried their special tea they had and it is to this day still my favorite tea I have ever had!

Loved it here!!!! Have been to a few other locations so I was very familiar with this place but the staff was super helpful and I loved all the different spices. Chose a black roasted garlic salt and very champagne mix. Love all the different selections. Prices are a little bit high but that's what you get for novelty items. Definitely check it out if you have some extra time.

I'd like to think of spices are adventures just waiting to happen. The Spice & Tea Exchange of Savannah provides the perfect place to start these adventures. It has a bright, spacious and welcoming store. Right when you step in you'll find a long stretch of spices neatly lined up on the wall- some are exclusively one kind of spice, some are pre-mixed spice mixes for you to add directly to your favorite cut of meat, vegetables, soup, root vegetables for roasting. Open up the jars to smell and imagine the taste. The small packs of spice is for you to purchase- a great way for you get a little taste without a big cost commitment. You'll also find exotic rice and teaware in the middle of the store, try the thai purple rice and Himalayan red rice they have amazing textures. The store also has an extensive variety on its salt (pink, grey, smoked, fleur de sel etc) and its peppers (sweet, smoked, and spicy). Dive in and enjoy the adventures :)

Passing by door, the aroma of fine spices from all over the world takes over your senses and pulls you into this magical place. Everything fresh. It smells divine in here.

Bought a tea with cash and instead of handing us our change the cashier took our change and put it in their tip jar without saying anything.

I didn't see any crackers to soak up those hot pepper oils from your tongue. I walked out with a bottle of Kentucky Charred Chipotle Bourbon hot sauce. We were planning on doing some serious grilling for Super Bowl last weekend (Gooooooooo BUUUUUUUCCCCS!), so we decided to take a peek a couple of weeks ago. PP is located across the way from Savannah Candy Kitchen. - TLC - There was only one staff member present. He was super nice and was very helpful. He explained the company's history and the different line of products they make. - The Goods - All items are made in their kitchens in TN and are hand mixed in small batches. They have pickles, Bloody Mary mixes, hot sauces, rubs, wing sauces and salsas. They also have a small selection at their cash counter of EXTREMELY hot sauces like one called Flatline. It's a combination of South Carolina Reaper, the Ghost pepper and 7 other sauces. Yeah, WHOA is right! You need to sign a waiver to sample it, so good luck! I love hot and spicy but Habañero is as far as I go and even that in moderation! He said when he sampled it, he dipped the tip of a toothpick every so slightly and what he described, well let's just way what he described didn't sound very pleasant. They have the Schoville Scale at the store so you can see and compare the different peppers and determine what level you can handle! - Additional tips - Samples are available for all the items. Salsas are refrigerated so you have to ask for assistance for those. Shipping of items available for US, Canada and International. They offer a military discount with presentation of valid ID. They have bulk purchase discounts like buy 10 and get 3 free for equal or lesser value or buy 5 and get 1 free. - Purchase - We ended up buying a coffee based rub and used it for the dry ribs last weekend and they turned out pretty tasty. The pricing is on the higher end ($10.95 for 6.1 oz), but it's always fun to taste what fun flavor combinations others come up with! - COVID-19 Observations - Staff member was wearing a mask AND gloves. Spice is LIFE (!) and PP has plenty of it! Stay safe, Friends!

It was also really interesting how you didn't have one singular server, but instead, they all rotated and checked on you continuously. It was not traditional, but it worked very well. Maybe other restaurants should take note lol! Food was so incredibly fresh, pasta was hot. It was amazing. The only negative about the food is that they don't make their bread or desserts. It was shipped in from a central factory (and you could tell compared to how fresh everything else was). I also wish they had a fountain beverage station. Every drink you'd need to get was in a bottle in a big coke cooler. This place is definitely very small (I think they would benefit from making their shelving areas where they sell their pasta, smaller, and putting in more tables instead). You could also tell there wasn't enough room in the back for the employees because I was waiting in line for the restroom and had to move multiple times because the servers come in and out of there. There's only one little tiny restroom in the back corner. It was also really cool how you could see everything being made in the back. There was a whole factory behind a glass window where they were making the pasta fresh. It was amazing!! The building needs a facelift but everything else was AMAZING!!
