MI JALISCO RESTAURANTE -- SOMEONE CALL THE TACO POLICE BECAUSE THIS FOOD IS ILLEGAL!…read more HOLY CR*P... I HAVE FOUND THE GOOD STUFF! I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT THIS RESTAURANTE!!! I ordered the Birria Tacos and the Torta Ahogada Mi Jalisco, and I'm not exaggerating when I say this was some of the BEST Mexican food I've probably ever eaten. And I've eaten a LOT of Mexican food. The birria tacos were so damn good I briefly considered hiding under the table so nobody could see me ordering another round. The flavor was on point, the meat was fantastic, and everything just WORKED. Then came the Torta Ahogada Mi Jalisco... HOLY. TACO. TRUCK. That thing showed up looking innocent and left me questioning every life decision that had previously led me to eat anything else. THIS is what I mean when I say authentic Mexican food. No nonsense. No boring, flavorless food that makes you stare at your plate wondering where the personality went. This food showed up with its boots on and went straight to work. And judging by the crowd, I'm definitely not the only one who figured this place out. This place was PACKED at lunch today! That's usually a pretty good sign that the locals know something the rest of us are still trying to figure out. The restaurant was clean, tidy, busy, and full of good energy, and the service was absolutely AMAZING. Everyone was friendly, polite, and working their butts off. I also had my service dog, an American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT), with me. They politely asked if he was a service dog, I answered, and that was literally the end of it. No drama. No interrogation. No circus. Just respectful people treating us like human beings. And THAT deserves some recognition. ‍ So here's my official DirtyFender Food Finder ruling: Food: ABSOLUTELY KILLER Flavor: OFF THE CHARTS Service: FANTASTIC Cleanliness: SPOT ON ‍ Service-dog experience: RESPECTFUL AND EASY Tip: TIP THESE PEOPLE WELL! Seriously, when you get great food from people busting their asses to serve you, SHOW THEM SOME LOVE. The cooks and servers deserve every bit of appreciation they get. I walked in hungry. I walked out happy. And now I'm sitting here wondering how soon I can go back without looking like I've developed a serious emotional attachment to a restaurant. MI JALISCO RESTAURANTE -- YOU ABSOLUTELY CRUSHED IT. If you're debating whether to stop here, STOP DEBATING AND GO EAT. DIRTYFENDER_CLUB FOOD FINDER APPROVED! 10/10 -- WOULD ABSOLUTELY DESTROY ANOTHER PLATE HERE.

We order ahead because we're on a tight schedule -- I'm a busy, involved parent getting him to the gym after school. A few weeks back, despite ordering plain chicken, his plate came out with pico de gallo. He won't eat it that way. I didn't have time to drive back, so I let it go. The following week, we ordered in person and the waitress assured me she double-checked the order. My son's meal came out correctly -- but my plate was made plain instead of how I ordered it. Not a big deal. I can eat it. I called simply to let them know there was a mix-up -- not demanding anything, not asking for free food. What I wasn't prepared for was being called a liar. I was told the order was made correctly and that if I wanted it fixed I had to bring everything back immediately -- including the salsas. I explained we were on a time schedule for my son's gym session. Instead of understanding, I was told my "games won't fly" there and that I was being a "Karen" looking for free food. My son was hungry and upset during the call. She heard him. We drove back anyway. I placed the plate on the counter, and once she saw it, the mistake was obvious. Only then did she offer to remake it. At that point it wasn't about the food -- it was about being accused of lying and being publicly disrespected in front of my child. Weeks later, I noticed the order was never refunded. I had to dispute the charge with American Express to get my money back. I've supported this restaurant for years. This wasn't about a wrong plate -- mistakes happen. It was about how we were treated when trying to resolve it. I can't return after being called dishonest and a beggar over a simple order issue.

I have to be honest, this truck was so disappointing. There is no shortage of taco trucks in the…read morearea so there is no reason for this one to be so bad. We gave it a shot because it was parked right inside the Fairgrounds for the Dinosaur Adventure event that went on last weekend. I should have yelped it first, but we went in blind, and now I regret it. We ordered 2 revuelta pupusas, the 3 taco plate, and the elote. First of all, their prices are insane. $7 for 1 pupusa? $15 for 3 tacos? $5 for elote kinda made sense but seriously, they didn't even execute that one right so still wasn't worth it. It seemed to be a one woman show, so I can excuse the wait time. Everyone knows pupusas can take about 15 min anyways so the wait didn't bother me. My elote was hot, but it barely had any cheese on it. All you could see was mayo, tajin, and a light sprinkle of cheese... I feel like the cheese is kinda what makes it so how are you gonna skimp on that. It was served on a plate, and then folded into foil so I guess that's nice but no. The cheese didn't just fall off on the plate, it just wasn't anywhere to be found :( The corn was sweet though, so I did enjoy it still but the elote mans would be ashamed to see how this one was served. The 3 taco plate only came with 1 salsa. Their mild is a green salsa that tasted like water. I had to ask for a spicy red one which just tasted like roasted pepper water/oil. I was not a fan. The chicken tacos were basically rotissierie chicken meat on a tortilla. No "asado" to be found anywhere. I'm an al pastor girly but this was the worst al pastor of my life. I didn't even finish it, it was that bad. The revueltas were the saving grace but even then.. they were mid. They were sooooo hot though, and had a decent amount of filling. The slaw paired with this was nice and tangy but again, the mild green salsa did nothing for the pupusa. I love when the cheese oozes out of pupusas and get all grilled up, nice and crispy. This pupusa wasn't giving all that lol It could have used a bit more salt/flavor but compared to everything else, it was good and the reason why I'm giving 2 stars. However, $7 for one pupusa is ridiculous. I understand inflation, but the food prices here do not match the food that is being served. The woman running the truck was nice though, so I do appreciate that and how hard she must be working if she's doing things alone. I just wouldn't ever come back.
