Right when we entered it immediately felt like we were part of an exclusive club. Very cool, chic feel with interior dark colors and warm feeling BUT that all changed when we met the server. The food was pretty good. I got the favourite platte £14.79 which came with chicken wings, fries, fish and chips, and sliders. Yes, I freaking ate it all by myself lol except for the fries and fish&chips. The fish & chips were pretty gross because it was dry and very oily. My uncle got the chicken bacon sandwich and said it was delicious £6.99 The only reason why I'm giving it a 1/5 stars is because the customer service was just crap. Kathryn was a total b!!!!!!!!! She didn't even want to look at us and didn't care to seat us. The saddest and most upsetting part was a group of Caucasian people walked in right behind us and she looked, smiled, and seated them immediately. When we asked if we could get seated she said, "Oh sure take a seat wherever you'd like." She didn't even bring us menus we had to go get it but she brought menus for the two Caucasian couple & even served them water which we soon discovered you had to get water yourself. You have to pay first at the front/bar to order your food. There was a bartender and when I asked him nicely if he would take my order he even looked afraid and didn't even say one word and just pointed at Kathryn. I was hoping NOT to get her but unfortunately she took my order and she didn't even look at me once. It was almost like I was her long lost enemy or something. When I had asked if the favourite platte was good or if she recommend it she said, "if you like what you see get it." I'm Mexican and Chinese and my uncle is Latino. To see discrimination happen to us was insulting and degrading. We would've gotten up and left but it was getting late and we were starving so we decided to stay. I really REALLY hope they retrain Kathryn and if you're reading this...I just hope you treat everyone equally with respect. No one deserves to be treated that way. I would never come back here again.

Everything was delicious! Phenomenal fish and chips. Oscar Wilde and Dylan Thomas have been here before- so why not you?

Service is terrible. No one seat customers, they have to find seats for themselves. Bartender was impolite and told me to 'speak' without saying hello or greeting me in any way. I wanted to take away leftovers but was told that they didn't have boxes because they simply don't do takeaways. Food is ok but I have no desire to go back.

beautiful place at the very good location, but with very poor service, no service from my point of view! at the entrance no one meeting you, you just enter and have to find free table by yourself by moving around the tables and floors ((( once you found the table you have to wipe it by yourself ((( after seating you have to go to bartender for order(( Moreover, they serve beer in plastic cups, oh England! many people told me to drink Guinness only in the UK, because it's authentic.... now I understood that the proper way to drink it, using plastic cup)))

    Sirloin Steak with Béarnaise

The Sirloin Steak was over cooked. I was glad for the accompanying Béarnaise sauce. The Chicken Kyiv was good but heavily breaded. The "dressed leaves" that came with were the highlight. We would've eaten a whole salad of that. Service was good. I liked that you order and pay upfront and then can leave at your leisure.

Good basic British pub food with a good selection of draught beer on tap. I had the Steak and Ale Pie - good crispy and flaky crust with a delicious savory filling. I also tried the Fish (Cod) and Chips that my companions ordered- it was well prepared and it was not greasy. The vegetarian Pie option with Camembert Cheese and Beetroot was the surprise star of the meal- the crust was by buttery and flaky. The filling was delicious with sweetness from the Beetroot and saltiness and umami from the Camembert Cheese. The Salisbury is a good solid place to experience British pub food especially if you have vegetarians in your group.

Bangers and mash! Nice pub, very airy so it doesn't feel like at all packed and stuffy. And it's kid friendly. They advertised that they had the best bangers and mash in the world so I had to give it a shot. This was my first bangers and mash so I had nothing to reference it to, but for just under £9, you get 3 different sausages, mashed potatoes and the gravy. Now thats a pretty good deal. And the gravy was new to me in that it felt like molasses and that it was sweet too. Thick and sweet for a gravy, who would have thought? Very friendly staff especially for single guy who's from out of town. Yah, you can tell I was a turd in a punch bowl as soon as I walked in, and these guys were pretty hospitable during my time there. I originally was going to eat somewhere else, but I couldn't find the restaurant, but I'm glad I came here and enjoyed a nice frosty British cider with my bangers and mash. It's kid friendly, family friendly and they have an ATM inside.

We had a lovely afternoon and lunch with friends! They reserved a booth ahead of time, which was great because it is often very busy. I'm a fan of the fish and chips. My daughter had a pie she loved.

    Steak and red wine pie

Ordered their steak &red wine pie .got two small bites of steak inside a large pie with lots of onions. Nice flavour but wouldn't recommend given your expect reasonable amount of steak in a steak pie! So if you like thick tasty pastry, try this . At ST£12.50 is expensive for pastry, gravy and onions! AVOID

Classic British pub. Fish and chips are the best. Great place to stop in while you're in the seven dials area.

After visiting Shakespeare's Globe across the Thames River, I was rushing to the airport and…read morespotted this place near St. Paul's church after crossing Millennium Bridge. Given the location, I knew it was probably a tourist trap and I wish to avoid those usually but had no time so stopped in on a Monday afternoon for lunch. I'm so glad I did! I was in London only briefly and had yet to try proper fish and chips and I was definitely WOW'd. I've only had this in America, and this was definitely better than anything I've ever had. When it arrived on my table, I could feel the heat from the plate -- that's how scalding hot and fresh it was, and I loved that! The cod was absolutely massive, a thick portion of fish deep fried with the skin on within an incredibly crunchy beer batter. There were pieces of bone in it, but no bother, this only made it seem more fresh. The chips (thick cut fries) were perfectly crispy and both the fish and chips were insanely delicious with a bit of salt and malt vinegar (which I had to request by walking up to the bar). The dish came with a tartar sauce and ketchup, but tasted way better with the salt and vin. I absolutely love that the fish and chips also came with mushy peas, whereas most pubs only give you fish and chips alone. The dish was also very well priced at 9.95 GBP, and I was able to use my credit card, rounded up to 10 GBP because they have a 10 GBP minimum for using cards. I appreciate that this restaurant had free wi-fi, which I found out by asking my waiter, who quickly provided the secret code for me to use. In America you would never ask your server for this but I noticed that nearly every hotel and restaurant I visited during my 11-day tour of Europe offered wi-fi. Good on them, because how else would I check in to a restaurant on Yelp and shower them with praise and circulate promotional foodie photos on Instagram? During a weekday, many workers nearby flood this place to grab a pint during lunch....now, why don't I work in London? I would give this place five stars based on the food alone, but I am giving it four because I wished the service had been more attentive, as I had to go up to the bar to get malt vinegar and also to ask to pay my bill. I understand service in Europe is more laissez-faire than in America, but since this is a tourist spot I would have liked to be checked on by the staff at least once during my meal, and certainly to be presented with the bill. Note: They also serve Sunday roast dinner for 9.95 GBP on Sundays

Being from the states I am not as familiar with all the UK brands --- but they seem to offer a wide variety of beers (lots on tap) and cocktails. TIP: I recommend hitting this place before 5:30 on the weekdays as the happy hour crowd fills this join up.

We arrived just after the work day, and the crowd was buzzing just outside. We did the self-seating option indoors, and sat down to a great view of the Thames river, as we pondered our meal choices from the menu. The location is just great. For a leadoff drink, I had to go with the house cask ale, which was the Fuller's ESB, a drink I've been enjoying since the 1990's, and it delivered as expected. I went with an order of Sausages with mashed potatoes and peas...it doesn't get much more classic than that, and I was happy with it, especially with the quantity (3 sausages!). Wifey was on the hunt for a meat pie, and she went with the Steak, Ale & Mushroom Pie, which I can report was wholeheartedly approved. One of the better pies we've had on the overall trip, and the best we had at a pub location. The overall vibe of this pub is exactly as you might picture it, and we weren't disappointed with any aspect. Service, though not overly patient (hey - they were busy), was competent and pleasant. Cheers!
