We were sat and then a floor manager came up and told us we were sat at a table that already had a reservation so we would have to move. He also berated Amber on the sales floor which was super uncomfortable to watch as a customer. Amber did great! She was super attentive and accommodated us very well! Me and my girlfriend decided to eat here last week for a late night date night dinner around 11pm. Sat in a nice booth, live music, good environment. Don't remember the servers name but she was nice just kind of forgot about us towards the end. The environment of the restaurant is was pretty nice. We ordered 2 appetizers since it was our first time here and wanted to try a couple things. The smoke dip duo was pretty good the pimento dip just seems kind of unneeded on this dish though cause the spinach and cheddar fondue blows it out the water. The cracklin deviled eggs name is what caught my eye but as I got the dish it was not as good as it sounded. Not sure what all goes into their filling but someone had a heavy hand on a seasoning in it that didn't taste terrible but not great. The pork skin on top was saltier than expected and then it was just completely covered in paprika, like too much paprika. The main dish is what I was really excited for as I LOVE steak. We ordered a NY strip with broccolini and a baked potato to share. This one was such a let down and I don't mean to bash the restaurant but it was very disappointing. Ordered medium rare and got served a little more on the medium well side and I'm not the one to send it back as I hate wasting food so I was just At least hoping the flavor was there. Couple bites in and this was possibly one of the worst steaks I've had. There was absolutely no flavor. The meat was so dry and chewy as if it were well done and then some. I genuinely think that steak was on its last hours of being thrown out due to the time stamp restaurants mark food before they throw it out. It was truly disappointing because the steak was $45 and the broccolini was like what $8? The broccolini, I kid you not, was the best damn broccoli i have ever had. It was so well seasoned with pepper and salt and literally juicer than the steak. I was literally in awe of how good the broccoli was compared to a $45 steak. I didn't eat more than a bite of the baked potato but that was also pretty good. Overall the place did not give me "I gotta come back" vibes. I've had steaks at taste of Texas, salt grass, Ruth chris, all sorts of steak houses. And I mean this as constructively critical as possible. Chilis (sirloin rare) and Texas Roadhouse have a steak 10x better than the one I was served at least. Maybe I just got the cook on a bad night. Came to this place after work on Saturday and it was packed! The wait wasn't long to be seated, they're able to us as requested outside on the patio. Our server named was Devin, he was very nice. Food came out at a timely mannered. We spent over $220 including to-gos and was disappointed we were ordered a Rustic Burger with Fries to go. We were charged for Fries ($9) in addition to the burger but did not receive what we were charged. I politely called immediately once I gotten home to notify them for the mistake. They took down all my information with the last four digit of the credit card and did a report and never gotten back to me. For the amount of money we spent, we would hope at least get the order right. The rustic burger itself was $16, it was so disappointing to open the to go with only a single burger and no sides, no sauce. Definitely needed to improve on their to go packing. The parking wasn't horrible but could be harder to find a spot during a busier time. I had half a spicy chicken sandwich with a cup of tortilla soup and it was both very good. I looked at the menu online in advance and was struggling to find anything I could or would want to eat. However, my beautimous self was summoned for a bidness dinner so I was mandatorily required to smash that mf like button on the invite e-mail as a 21st century techno-clown far removed from 20th century luddite clown college. First things first, there is plenty of parking. If you are not a Newstonian you know all about how much parking is a real hassle nearly everywhere you go (and avoid going) in the city. But not here, there were actually several open spaces during the dinner hours! This may be because the latest Loki variant (are we up to the crocodile one yet?) was keeping everyone home for fear of getting cooties or in the ICU if they were unlucky enough to have kissed the wrong fella at the truck stop, or wherever else you all keep passing this around in our very red, anti-science state. If this place was valet only I would have just dealt with the consequences of no-showing the bidness dinner and parked my own car at home where it belongs - ain't nobody else touching The Dragon, unless they steal it from my high-crime neighbourhood as the good lord below intended. The people that identify as ladies at the front desk were another welcoming feature of this restaurant experience. Rather than making you feel like you have interrupted their conversation about whatever, they make you feel welcome. That is a good front desk experience. There being parking outside also led to a related pandemic era finding inside that there were plenty of empty tables and it was not that busy, even though it was peak dinner time for people who eat on a normal dinner schedule. For the pandemic era, the windows/doors can be opened to make sure there is some nice circulation of non-cootie air to mix with all of the covid cooties you know some jezebels and other undesirables are spreading inside to make the pandemic have entered season three now. The waitstaff are polite and eager to please. When they mess up, they admit to it and try to make it right. Everyone makes mistakes, that is why pencils have erasers. It is in the fessin' up and tryin' to fix it that distinguishes good, here, from bad, elsewhere. So that is the good stuff. The less good stuff is that service seemed to take forever, even just to get water. The joint was just not that busy. There were plenty of workers standing around and not doing anything. It boggles the mind how it takes so long to even get a water, which is the basic no frills beverage. This is a place that does not even attempt to cater to me since it is basically a bar - I can't drink alcohol. All they have is basically heavily fried food - which I can't eat either. The only item from the menu I could make a reasonable pass at, in trying to look less weird than I actually am whilst attempting to do bidness, was the deviled egg, since I needed some food item in front of me so I did not look even weirder than I normally do with my water (which is actually water and not vodka) at a bar. I removed the cracklin from the top and banished that back to the shadow realm where it belongs. The rest was heavily doused in unknown seasoning. The online menu made no attempt to discuss ingredients or allergens. It looked pretty. But without knowing what was in it, that was a no from me, dog. The last disappointing item was getting a horridly dirty napkin. It looks like this was used to rub dirt in the eyes of someone's biblical enemy so you know it was real dirty, nobody would try to rub dirt in someone's eyes with a clean napkin. thank u, next. After passing by The Rustic for years, I decided to finally stop by for dinner Saturday night. It's in a shopping center so parking may be hard to find during peak hours. The wait was only about ten minutes. The hostess wasn't able to give us an estimated wait time so if you're in a hurry to eat, make reservations. As mentioned before, it was a bit busy and the way the "foyer" is set up things can get a bit crowded quickly. The hostess seemed to be a bit overwhelmed by the number of people as it seems they were a tad unorganized. When we were seated, I noticed our table hadn't been cleaned well. Not a huge issue but I do prefer when there's no food leftovers on the seats and table. The service was okay. I don't think the atmosphere was conducive for socializing. They have live music Wednesday through Sunday and it was pretty loud. I had to scream at my friend who was sitting right next to me. I got baked oysters for my starter and they weren't as cooked as I like my oysters. I felt like they might as well have been raw, I could taste it's inside. Felt like I was eating a work or an eyeball lol. I asked the waitress if they could be baked longer and she sent them back which I was appreciative of. Still not to my liking when they were brought back out but I could stomach them if I didn't think about the texture too much. I ordered the steak Laredo which doesn't come with a side and was pretty small for $35. I finished it within 5 minutes. It wasn't good but the avocado saved it. The Chile sauce on top made it taste like school lunch or Taco Bell. Really wish I would've picked something else. The broccolini was the best part of the meal, which again was not included. It tasted more like beef than my steak did. I felt like I was eating brisket which was unexpected but I liked it because the entree was just really disappointing. Overall, I didn't really enjoy the food, atmosphere, or service. Considering the price point, I expected a bit more. We were visiting the Houston area for the day and stopped by the shopping center with Rustic. We ordered the tortilla soup - good flavor but not hearty enough to justify $11 with a few pieces of chicken and one avocado slice. The frozen margarita was the highlight of the meal and the burger was pretty good too. What truly fell short for me was the service. We were sat right away and then greeted almost immediately by our server, but rarely checked on past that point. There's even a button you can push to ring your server and when we needed condiments and pushed the button, no one came over. No one refilled our drinks. I ended up having to go to the host stand after waiting for quite a bit. Then we waited for the server to return and drop our check, which they finally did, but instead of an "I'm sorry for being MIA other than taking your order" we got a "yeah I just have a big party to wait on right now." We started with the Smoked Dip Duo and I really wasn't a huge fan. It was okay but nothing I would want again. The presentation was nice but the smokiness didn't sit well with the cheese. I tried the chicken tortilla soup and did not like it either. Too spicy and too much going on. We also tried the oysters and they were just okay. I had some moscow mules which were good. Great brunch Sunday experience. They have a nice combo offering for $19 a person that includes multiple dishes (chicken, biscuit gravy, bacon, fries, veggies, avocado toast, deserts). They even gave a peanut butter slice for my mother in laws birthday! Came here on my birthday for lunch mostly for the drink specials! Happy hour is 3-6, all week long. I got the regular margarita for $5 which was pretty good and pretty strong. I also go the Legendary Rustic Rita which was soooo good and very worth the price. It was about $9 (usually $15) and was a large frozen margarita that came with a mango popsicle covered in Tajin. I would come back for this drink alone! My table decided to split a few appetizers including the, Deviled Eggs, Meatballs, and Chips and Queso. The Meatballs were tasty! It came in 5, and my only complaint is that I wish there were more. The Chips and Queso was not my cup of tea, but the people at my table seemed to enjoy it a lot. The Deviled Eggs weren't all that great. For my entree, I got the Triple Chop with a side of broccolini. The broccolini was super good, but my Pork Chop was pretty salty. The rest of my table thought their food was salty as well. With a little less salt, it would have been great. The Rustic also had a live band which I thought was a cute little touch. Came here for brunch with a group of fellow breasties and had a fun time catching up with everyone. Riley took great care of us. Service and food was amazing (highly recommend the shared brunch spread!) and good ambiance as well. Not overly crowded but enough to feel like it was a busy happening spot. And even if every table was filled, they were spaced apart enough to allow a comfortable amount of room so you wouldn't feel boxed in. I dealt with 4 hostesses- 3 were great and one needed an attitude adjustment but it didn't dampen my experience Ambiance : the restaurant itself has a very open concept! There is live music on Sundays( mot sure of other days). Food: So if you are there for brunch then I definitely recommend the brunch menu! It gives you a variety of options and is served family style and the bring out enough for everyone. We came here with friends the other night, the place has lots of ambience and pretty good food, but it's definitely on the pricy side for the style of food so probably a sometimes thing. Our friends ordered chips and dips for the table; the pimento cheese and homemade potato chips were the stars. We weren't looking to have a super pricy meal so we skipped the steaks and went for the sandwiches. We ordered a spicy chicken sandwich and the burger with intention of splitting them. Hubby added a twiced baked potato to his, I did not add a side. The spicy chicken sandwich was not even remotely spicy. Which surprised me -- that's something that we expect every time we go out to eat at home in Maryland where the locals think a shake of black pepper is nuclear -- but not back in Texas. It was really a grilled cheesed sandwich with some fried chicken in it. It tasted very good, don't get me wrong, but someone forgot the spicy big time. The burger take 2 was pretty good; take 1 got sent back because I ordered medium well and got medium rare. While I get my steak medium rare, I don't like rare ground beef. Ick. I don't usually send things back but I had to this time. Anyway, take 2. The burger came with cheese, a little shredded brisket and green chiles. It was slightly spicy (but not a lot) and pretty flavorful. I don't think it really needed the brisket honestly. I'd have rather had just the green chile cheeseburger and drop a few bucks off the price tag. The twiced baked potato was pretty good. Soda refills were not forthcoming and we left without my having been offered one. They also are stuck in the 90s, offering only diet coke and no coke zero. Le sad. Mainly, I'm being a bit critical because of the price points being high -- I expect better at that price. Still rounding to 4* because flavorwise the food was tasty. The place is huge. There is a very large dining area and there is also a lot of seats at the bar, plus the two outside sections. The day we went, there was a band playing live music. It was a little loud but not too bad because we were not right on the stage. Service: Would say that the service was really, really good. They were quick. Started with deviled eggs, which are basic devil eggs with a piece of fried chicken skin on the top. The chicken skin does not do much to the dish. I actually took that off and ate the egg by itself. Chad recommended the meatballs as an appetizer and the salmon burger for entree. The meatballs are not like most meatballs. They are coated in a sweet sauce that my wife really liked. They are not big but you get a lot and they do pack a punch, unless you want traditional Italian meatballs then you will be disappointed (but if you want Italian meats then you should go to an Italian restaurant). I tried to eat all of them but we had too much food. The salmon burger was one of the better salmon burgers I have ever had. The patty fell a part, which is my biggest complaint. The combination of pico de gallo with chipotle aioli works well together. Food might have been middle tier, not sure, but due to the fact that it was a recommendation and I really enjoyed it gets a bump. IF YOU DO NOT DRINK, try Cherry boba freeze. I am a man who enjoys a good Shirley Temple and this is the best Shirley Temple that I have ever had. We also were given a complementary piece of peanut butter pie as it was our first time eating there. Cake was huge, we were stuffed, ate some of it, and it was good but a ton of peanut butter. This is an excellent place for bigger parties, a nice low-key date night if you are in the bar/American food mood, and the food is solid. Credit where credit is due. We called at 7:30 pm to make a reservation for 9 at 8:30. We showed up at 8:25 and were asked by the hostess "are you okay with sitting outside". It was a heated/ tented outside but very removed from the live music and very much an outside vibe . We were disappointed and stuck (we had valet 3 cars ) I informed them that information wasn't clarified on the phone- we didnt want to sit outside. They offered us to sit separately and we politely declined. They had us wait 30 minutes and made it happen. Could it have been smoother? absolutely. Do mistakes happen? Also yes. These folks were so apologetic and so damn nice that we could be anything other than grateful. The manager, hostess and waitress all apologized so much our server was so damn great. She was patient, prompt and kind with our littles. The manager even brought out apps for us. As a patron, i know mistakes happen but when management goes out of their way to correct the inconvenience- it really does make a difference. The hot chicken sand which, chip dip, mac n cheese, burgers, tamales, deviled eggs, and onion rings were nothing short of fantastic. Every dish was absolutely picture worthy and had the taste to match it. No pictures this time because our party was hungry and devoured every morsel. Hubby and I were in Houston recently and planned to meet friends from college for brunch. My girlfriend chose this place because her and her husband go here sometimes and enjoy it. We got a large, comfortable booth and started off with coffee and mimosas. We did the brunch which is several dishes for $17.95/pp, served family style. There was a good selection consisting of cheese and crackers and fresh fruit, bacon and sausage, quiche, salad, donuts, fried pickles and Nashville hot chicken, avocado toast, cheesy grits and french toast! Not a lot of each item, but all together it was enough for the 4 of us. The dishes were excellent. They have large TV screens and had live music while we were there. My party of five came here for brunch and we all decided on the family style brunch for five! It was an immaculate spread of food including rosemary French toast (super unique!), sausage, bacon, quiche, salad, small pastries, fried chicken with amazing maple syrup, yogurt parfaits, and the star of the show: those cheesy hash browns!! We definitely could've opted for brunch for 3 or 4 because it was so much food but we all took some home. We also split a carafe of mimosa and it was good, a basic but delicious drink! Was pretty busy so we were only able to get a booth. Fast service and the Tamales were delicious. Chips nice and fresh and we enjoyed the queso. The margaritas were good as well. read more

The Rustic Brunch is a 'per person' fixed-menu family-style brunch, that comes with a variety of different brunch dishes... It was pretty fun, but I think I truly enjoyed only 1 of the dishes (and that was the potato hash). OUR DAILY - a seasonal assortment of local cheese and crackers, seasonal brunch toasts & house-made mini muffins SEASONAL FRUIT PARFAIT - Greek yogurt, fruit, honey & granola COUNTRY BAKED EGGS - white cheddar, chives & organic baby spinach GREEN SALAD baby kale & lemon dressing BUTCHERSHOP SKILLET - bacon & sausage from Hudson Sausage Co. CHEESE & POTATO HASH - oven baked with cheddar and American cheese, jalapenos & grilled onion HOT CHICKEN - Nashville-style spicy fried chicken & maple butter BABY FRIED TOAST hand-cut challah, soaked in vanilla custard & topped with house-made rosemary syrup We also ordered coffee (which came with a very large pot, so we split it between two people per order).
