    Friends eating Loaded Raclette Fries

Gone twice now and I think I'll add it to my rotation of my favorite bars and hang out spots! There is so much to love about this place! Ambiance/patrons: the place is very chic and comforting. The colors are bright but not alarming. It's a small place but they have outdoor seating as well so it wasn't hard to find a seat either time. The people might've been my favorite part. It is a queer spot that looks mainly like a lesbian/afab place but obviously they are welcoming to all! Being queer myself it was very friendly in a way gay male bars don't usually have and I enjoyed that I felt safe and comfortable in that way. My friends and I talked to some strangers both times so again both the staff and customers give this place some great vibes! Drinks: *they do not serve cocktails or well drinks*. They have wines, beers, ciders, and an array of non alcoholic drinks. I had their cider of the day which I enjoyed and had a canned cider as well. The drinks aren't anything too out of the ordinary for any other place but they get the job done lol Food: THE FOOD! I only had one thing BUT I would go back JUST FOR THE FOOD based on the one dish. I had the loaded cheese fries I believe they're called, which according to my friend had a Swiss take on it with the type of melted cheese they had. It was so so good! I was actually surprised! Very few times do I say a place could charge more for something and this is it. Those fries could cost $20 at least but they were $15 which was a good deal. The bowl is deep so there was also a decent amount. Perfect to share! Location: it's located on sunset Blvd in the silver lake area. It's a decent area with a lot of trendy shops and restaurants. It's also located in a shopping area so it's not directly on the sidewalk which allows for some needed distance from the street. Overal I have to say I really enjoyed this place. The prices are worth it for a fun time or even for a pre game, not to say the prices are crazy expensive. They're about what you'd expect for a place like this. It's not just a bar, not just a restaurant, not just a cafe, it's like a combo of it all.

This spot needs to be a bigger spot- there's no other way to say this lol. If you're looking for a chill lowkey bar that's sapphically inclined and simultaneously feels like a party with 100 of your closest friends inside of a closet- then this is the spot for you! Also... if you own a cowboy hat and flared jeans, this is the spot for you. Bolo tie optional. I went because it's a new girl bar within affordable Uber distance and also because I wanted to try "the Martha" cocktail-which- was a little like a watered down wine spritzer. I'm a little disappointed that is my namesake, but what can I do? There's a mix of girls here.. not sure if it's a good place to meet someone or not but ideally it could be! All ages and presentations seemed represented and welcomed here, which is such a needed concept!! Our server was sweet and seemed oddly at ease having to dip in and out of the little standing alcoves people made due to limited seating. I'd come back... maybe on a random weekday when they just have opened and I can get a seat without having to wait an hour.

This restaurant belongs here. This is the most ironic place I happened to walk into, and why wouldn't it be, it's Silver Lake. I came in because the thrift store wasn't open yet and I saw they had happy hour all day, remembering today is Monday. It's actually only a dollar off the original price but oh well. Looking at the reviews I guess locals are mad this place is too gay? Or the only gay place they can go. Or if you're not gay you can't go here. I'm not sure what the consensus is. I just saw some big confusing flag out front and wanted to see what this place was. The service seems fine to me but it's definitely a bar as they took my card right away. It's also "vegan friendly". I'm surprised it's not completely vegan tbh. It's nice vegan is an option and not forced on me. Also gluten free and all that other trendy stuff. They have girl dinner which looked funny but it's $18. I thought the point of girl dinner is its leftovers from being a poor single female. Popcorn chicken and fries was reasonably priced so I got that. Of course the people next to me are talking about how gay they are. Everyone looks noticeably gay with rainbow stuff or shaved heads or purple hair etc. So this place kinda just epitomizes the neighborhood to me. Henceforth not surprising at all that hipsters are complaining about it. No real reason to return here but I personally have no problem with this place. Oh yeah and the popcorn chicken is tender and seasoned very well. Forgot about the food.

love ruby fruit. have been several times for drinks, apps & queer community & vibes {their fries are the best!} & finally went for brunch over the holidays. was so pleasantly surprised to see gluten free pancakes & they were amazing! the bacon was also great. also happy to see them continuing to expand their drink offerings-- my blood orange spritz was rly delicious.

My partner and I came for the debut of LUNCH! since the evenings have been so busy I thought it might be the perfect time and I was right - it was a v chill and delicious experience. No wait!! I was shocked - it was also 140 on a Tuesday though so We got breakfast sandwiches and they were both delicious. We also got the olive oil cake which I highly recommend it's got some kind of rich but sweet but not too much cheese thing and fruit jam and it is delightful! Precious! Gorgeous! So sad I didn't get a picture !!! Also got black coffee that was fresh and very good and the very cool / sweet server made sure I never ran out. U must use the bathroom. After many years of being on the fence I can say that it has converted me into an Indigo Girls fan Nice air ventilation too they open up the windows and there's a lot of natural light / fresh air Ok +1000 points for the mid day play list shout out to whoever made that !! the deep cut Nina Simone and Odetta really brought it all to a serious level Also also Buy the bumper sticker it's thrilling WILL BE BACK

Cute decor. Friendly staff and tasty food. I had the vegan smash burger, fries and a vanilla latte. I would definitely go again

I mean omg; the brunch. The buckwheat pancakes were wildly delicious. What a welcoming lovely vibe. Cute and delicious, what more can you ask for on the east side?!

I had so much fun watching the World Cup with my lesbian crew yesterday. The TV was on- it was hard to see from outside but if you bring a tablet for outside then your all set. Food was surprisingly good as well. I didn't expect a bar to serve good food but I enjoyed the unique burrata with fresh herb and wine. I'll be coming back here again soon. There are only a few lesbian spots in LA so we were ecstatic to see this place thrive. And we even spotted a lesbian blog host of Y'all Gay- What a fun evening. My parents use to own a restaurant and they would tell me that you can judge a restaurants cleanliness by their restroom. And the restroom was clean and Indigo Girled out lol. Benefits of going to lesbian bar- clean bathrooms- woot-woot!

I can't believe what a great place this is! The vibe was friendly, warm, inviting, and just had a general happiness to the crowd. For as packed as it was, I never waited for more than a few minutes? The bartender was amazingly quick and attentive and the food came out super fast as well. We had the bread, olives, oysters, and fish dip and all were delicious! This is a great spot to catch up with friends and mingle. Right around the time my group was taking off, karaoke started, which usually is really not my thing (I have heard enough drunk renditions of Sweet Caroline for this lifetime), but honestly, everyone was bringing it and it felt like a little party! If I didn't have a drive back home, I would have stuck around longer. Til next time!

The food was soooo yummy. We had the chicken sandwich, Health food Market sandwich and the gooblegoop or something like that. We had both tarts they were delicious. The berry tart was like the best piece of pie you've ever had. All were delicious and very different. The service was kind and attentive - Hi Preston! The vibe is bright and floral. We will def be back!

What a queer bar!!! Omggggg it was soooo refreshing to be at this new queer / lesbian space! Finally a queer gal space opens up. The first of its kind. The first in a LONG LONG time!!! This place was slammed with queer gals wanting to try the new spot in Silverlake. This is literally the only queer gal space in Los Angeles let alone Silverlake. We didn't mind that it was packed. It was packed with queer gals! It's a new spot, it was so wonderful! Ruby Fruit is a dim lighted (but perfectly dim) wine bar / restaurant with delicious bites. Hand selected wine (there's gotta be something here because we had 3 bottles and there was a feminine feature to each of them). We ordered the crudités + dip, the bread service and the olives and each dish was sooo delightful. Every single one of these menu items seemed like they would pair perfectly with wine. We loved it! We had 3 bottles of wine for 4 of us and we probably would have stayed later but at the moment they're only open until 11pm. I'm not going to give this spot 4 stars just because they're only open until 11pm but I think everyone could agree we wish they were open later! More highlights : Purple hallway that leads to the restroom. Art and floral mementos leading you there. Indigo Girls themed bathroom / also very well lit and serene (playing indigo girls even though the rest of the bar playing something different) Music inside Ruby Fruit playing 90s hits.. hoping this is an all the time thing, great music selection This spot was poppin and the service was immaculate! Everyone that waited on us was super kind, sweet, attentive and seemed so stoked to be working there and to be a part of this new hangout. Free parking in the parking lot (in certain spaces), it's in a plaza and some spots are not marked but you do have to look and see what's open but still, the spots are there otherwise there's street parking. Art seems carefully selected and so contributing to the overall queer gal vibe. Outdoor seating/ standing area until you wait to sit inside. Right now, if they're busy... you could stand outside / sit and someone will take your order. You can gradually move inside once tables open... they will assist with this. The owner was helping with this and she had a great system! Owner is SUPER nice and has the best energy! The biggest stand out was the vibe as I have mentioned. It was amazing to be in a space like this. My only recommendation is somehow they can strive to stay open later because this is if not already... going to be the number 1 place to be if you're a queer gal in Los Angeles. Side note : it is 100% inclusive and everyone seems welcome here OF COURSE. You do not HAVE to be a queer girl. :)

New Lesbian bar, craft cocktail lounge, silverlake eat and drinkery. Great owners and great people- go support! LA has now gone from 0 to 1 lesbian bars and the girls have showed up in droves. This strip mall placed bar doesn't even have a sign above the restaurant yet (if ever?) yet many passer-bys come to take a look at the large crowds that gather outside. The craft cocktails are amazing, the wine is good, and there's beer on the menu for those inclined that way. The snacks are creating a buzz of their own (the daytime food photos are not mine- credit the rubyfruit on IG) The fries were a great portion for 2 and came with a great aioli and ketchup. Tip: if you want a table or have more than 2 in your party I recommend coming on the early side of the evening! The servers are very accommodating and manage the crowds and seating really well. The setup is conducive to talking and making new friends. The best touch is the le labo candle burning in the bathroom. There's beautiful decor throughout the walls and cute low lighting. Ratings: Ambiance: 10/10 Ease of seating/ speed of service: 10/10 Vegan options: 10/10 Gluten free options: 10/10 Low carb options: 10/10 Overall deliciousness: 10/10 Pricing: $$ Parking: lot or street Liquor License: yes Read their press here : https://linktr.ee/therubyfruit?fbclid=PAAaaZVwALBEDs4Mz9HlN5gTiBmCU1l6KlsMDfhC6iaX84fETn8rOgCJBVntY

Our waiter was kind enough to let us sample the three whites they had rotating that night so we could pick what we wanted. I ended up going with a nice Georgian white. And now for the food! Cucumber and pomegranate salad (5/5) - it was fresh, crisp, and very well flavored with the fresh herbs. Ghormeh sabzi with rice (3.5/5) - flavor wise it was delicious, it reminded me of my grandma's ghormeh sabzi. Kidney beans were a bit undercooked. Rice was fluffy and well cooked. Tahchin with chicken (3.5/5) - flavor was good, I think it could have used a bit more seasoning and the rice was more "custardy" than I am used to. Blood orange tart (3/5) - the tart itself was yummy but the blood oranges were quite bitter. Our meal was quite expensive which I completely understand given the quality of the ingredients they use and the fact that they are small business. With that being said, I'd probably only come back here for wine and small bites, not a full meal. But I think Voodoo Vin is worth trying at least once.

Everything is so overpriced it feels like they are intentionally letting you know you are not good enough to be one of their customers. You can get this type of food and wine at 99 other places with nicer employees, easier parking and much less attitude. The staff behaves as if this was a high school not a wine bar. Do yourself a favor and don't come here. I highly recommend the classic LA ambience at other close by establishments such as The Oaks on Bronson, the Alley in Silverlake or The Cara on Western instead. This place is like a bad Ryan Murphy series. It takes itself way too seriously. I've given them over 4 chances to change my mind since I live around the corner, and they never cease to amaze me when it comes to their entitled snotty staff & overpriced alcohol plus the parking is absolutely impossible! I even had to help customers break out of the parking lot one evening because the gate closes at a particular hour, and the restaurant doesn't even bother to tell you the gates shut at a particular time way before the restaurant closes. you're on your own, good luck getting your car out! avoid this place like the plague. I wish I could get back to $500. I've spent here over the past two years.
