Whistling Onion - where do I even begin? We booked them for our outdoor summer wedding (about 100…read morepeople) and couldn't be happier with our decision! From the very first time we met with Lynn and Linda, we were in love with their work. Their food is AMAZING - every single guest raved about it for weeks afterwards. It's definitely exciting hearing the line "that was the best food we've ever had at a wedding" over and over. And it was well-deserved. They worked with us to create such a unique menu, and the quality of their food was incredible. Definitely more of a "farm-to-table" vibe with them than anywhere else we looked. We loved the food so much we decided to book them for our rehearsal dinner the night before also, and everyone was so happy with the results! Their work ethic was beyond what we ever expected from our chosen caterers. It felt more like we booked a wedding planner at some points! They met with us multiple times prior to the wedding, scoped out the venue space, and assured us everything would work out flawlessly. The staff was extremely professional and attentive to our many guests, and if they minded working outside in the 95 degree heat they didn't show it! Their prices are really fair and we felt their value was incomparable when it comes to wedding vendors. Really pleased with them, and would HIGHLY recommend Whistling Onion for any catered event, wedding or anything else! (I could seriously go on and on, so feel free to message me if you need more proof that Whistling Onion is the only caterer you'll ever need!!) :)

What has happened to this restaurant? On February 19, we were really looking forward to a…read moregirlfriends' luncheon and were so happy to see one another. Unfortunately, from the moment we walked in, the experience felt off. The hostess was noticeably rude and dismissive, coming across as aloof and unnecessarily sharp, which made us feel unwelcome from the start, as though she were doing us a favor by seating us. After being seated, our coffee arrived lukewarm, and the carafe did not keep it warm. When I asked the waitress if she could refresh it, she told me she would need to charge for another coffee, though she offered to heat it in the microwave. That was disappointing. Granted, we were there about two hours, but the wait staff was a bit rude, too. The food was okay, nothing special. We truly miss the previous atmosphere and business model. I'm not sure what direction the restaurant is trying to take now, but it no longer feels warm, friendly, or hospitable.

Absolutely beautiful inside with a dining room on one side and ample space for a larger private gathering on the other. Food is delicious and Dan was a wonderful server - making good recommendations and helping us figure out what to order. We ordered a few different dishes and shared. The gnocchi with vodka sauce was my favorite. Order the carrot cake scone for dessert - you won't be disappointed!

This is my second time at the Greek kitchen. The first time was back in November 2024. I had the…read moreoctopus, the Greek paella, the mashed fava beans, and my friend had their lamb kebabs. The food was very good. The Greek paella was delicious and the portions huge. The Octopus was a bit tough. So I came here again for lunch last week (5/25), and I ordered the fried calamari the Spanikopita and the grilled octopus with mashed fava. The mashed fava was delicious and has become my new obsession. However, I disappointed with the rest of my lunch. The octopus was tough and one small portion had a bitter taste slightly like vinegar. It could've been that it was charred on the grill And so it tasted a bit bitter. I still ate it trying to find a piece that maybe would have tasted better and tender and then that brought back a recollection of the last time that I was here that my friend and I felt the octopus was a bit tough. Most likely overcooked. The fried calamari did not have flavor. At $21 for the appetizer, I expected better. I have a hard time trying to find good calamari and I think I've been to maybe two places that actually seasoned the breading and the calamari was delicious. Not here. It also was not served with lemon. I've gone between giving them 3 or 4 stars but decided on four since I can't give 3.5. I'm basing my rating on the cleanliness of the place, the space, the service, as the young lady who was my waitress was an absolute doll, and the fava, paella, lamb kebabs and huge portions. Would I go here again, yes, I would, but I will try other dishes. I will not be ordering the calamari here or anywhere else again nor will I be ordering the octopus here again. Note: for lunch, I spent $55.45 for the 3 items, not including tip.
