If you are looking for a DJ, do yourself a favor and contact This Is It... you will be so glad you did! We cannot more highly recommend them. We had done extensive research before booking a meeting and so we were already fairly confident we wanted to work with them, but to us, the in person meeting would make or break the deal. This was the only DJ company we ended up meeting with because we immediately knew that this was the DJ company we wanted to for our wedding. I even canceled another appointment we had with another company a few days later. The personality and vibe we got from our vendors was extremely important to my husband and I and as soon as we met with JP, we knew we didn't need to look any further because we already felt like old friends. Going to the studio felt more like going to a friend's house... with couches and really great sound systems. Every time we were there, people were always hanging out. Everyone seemed genuinely happy to be at their studio, you can tell they all really love what they do... and who can blame them, it looks like so much fun! I wanted to come back and hang out with them as well JP did the lighting for our wedding, Davey was the MC, and Mikey was the DJ and all three were fantastic! We met with each of them separately leading up to the wedding and I felt like I could have been friends with any one of them. Actually, it turned out that Davey actually knew a few of our groomsmen from high school. Leading up to the wedding, they were all easy to work with, flexible, professional, and extremely organized. I felt like I didn't have to worry about a thing. The night of the wedding was a blast! As the bride... I felt like the whole night was a blur and flew by in the blink of an eye... and at the end of the night I even complained to my maid of honor that there wasn't much dancing at my wedding... she then looked at me like I was crazy and told me that she typically never leaves the dance floor at weddings, but she actually had to go take a break at mine because she was dancing so much and having so much fun. My wife and I were very particular when we began our search for our wedding entertainment and we could not have been happier with the service that we got from This Is It Entertainment. From the moment we first met James, we had a feeling that it was the right choice. The entire staff was so immensely hospitable in helping us down the path of designing our package and our expectations for the big day. They helped to ease how overwhelmed we felt when tasked with deciding how each moment of the reception would pan out, from the introduction songs, to the timing of the speeches, to the last dances. Our MC, David, was really incredible and I mean that to the fullest extent of the word. He was so good at making a crowd of 150 people feel comfortable and welcome, which really made a huge difference to my wife and I as we simply wanted everyone to enjoy themselves at our reception, as all couples do. He helped to keep the whole crowd feeling involved, and the pacing of the reception was spot on. James was our DJ, and he made us feel like every dollar was well spent. We specifically predicated our search based on our desire to have a DJ who can mash up songs to keep the energy high. We've been to weddings before where a song finishes and the music just stops, everyone waits for 3-5 seconds, and it drove us crazy. James is a master of seamlessly transitioning from one song to another, through different genres, and increasing the beats per minute. He had my 92 year old grandmother dancing for 2 hours, and I have literally never seen her dance in my entire life. We were concerned for her health at a certain point, it was kind of jarring. Finally, the forgotten hero of the night, the lighting that This Is It brought with them was outstanding and without it, the event would not have been so spectacular. I cannot understate how much of a difference the lighting made to cement the atmosphere during our reception. My wife and I had a great experience with This Is It Entertainment. We felt right at home from the start as the organization took the time to schedule a consultation to better understand us as a couple before even discussing music, logistics, and miscellaneous details. Not only were they timely with responses, but their true character stood out when our original wedding date was postponed due to COVID-19. This Is It was over-the-top accommodating to the situation and made us feel at ease during a stressful time. This Is It scheduled various meeting with us and the DJ/MC in the months/weeks leading up to the wedding. These meetings gave us all a chance to align with music selection and wedding logistics. James Schumacher (aka Jimmy Shoez) covered every aspect of what was needed while making it fun. Jimmy nailed every detail of the wedding MC role - you can tell he had prepared accordingly and followed through on every feature we requested for our special day. He brought an incredible amount of energy and enthusiasm. Our DJ, Dan Tranquil, was the musical magician behind the scenes. Before the wedding, he gave us a better understanding of how songs transitioned during the first dances and whatnot - really giving us a technical perspective of how it all comes together. We only pre-requested a few songs going into the wedding, and let Dan and Jimmy do the rest. Due to their work, the majority of the wedding was on the dance floor throughout the entirety of the wedding ranging from 4 years of age to 84. It's been weeks since our reception and we keep hearing comments on how amazing the music was from our friends and family. We all know the DJ makes the party and let me tell you, we could not have asked for a better DJ, MC and Lighting Specialist than This Is It Entertainment. James, Andrew and JP were incredible. I will say it again, incredible. My wife and I are sticklers over our music and we have been to weddings where it is great and where it is pretty bad. To use the word fantastic for these guys and this company would be an understatement. James and his company are professional, easy to work with, always available and most importantly, provided the most amazing DJ experience we have ever experienced at any wedding. We gave James a list of our music, so he knew what we were looking for, and he turned it into a wedding set we could not have been more impressed with. The dance floor was full, from the first song to the last. Andrew, our MC...again...simply incredible. We have never seen someone MC a wedding like he did ours, while still making the event about us and our guests...never about him. The wedding party introductions alone were out of this world. Thank you Andrew! And JP, who handled all out lighting and even did some remixing of songs we were using was awesome. The lights, which he said would be awesome...were 10 times that. Another amazing aspect, we did all our booking, meetings etc. leading up to the wedding over skype/facetime, because we live about 2 hours from their office. Met them the day of the event and they were everything in person they were online. Having gotten married on Sept. 16, our family and friends are still talking about the best wedding DJ, MC and lighting they have ever seen. My wife and I were married in September of 2018. We decided on This Is It Entertainment based on all the amazing reviews we read. I really enjoyed how they scheduled a few meetings for us leading up to the wedding. We were living out of state at the time, so all these meetings were conducted over FaceTime, which was very convenient. This allowed us to get to know Davey (our host) and Rob (our DJ), so that we didn't feel like strangers by the time the wedding came around. It also gave them a better understanding of what we were expecting on our wedding day. Months later, I still have friends and family telling me how great Davey and Rob were. They had everyone out on the dance floor the whole night, which is exactly what we wanted! I was so impressed with how Rob was able to mix older songs, that everyone loves, with newer music seamlessly. He had everyone from the youngest attendees to my oldest relatives enjoying the music. Davey was able to command the crowd and shift the attention throughout the night like a conductor leading his orchestra. Not a single thing the whole night felt forced, out of place, or dull. As a team, they were able to draw our guests back to the dance floor after the formalities with ease, making it feel like we never even stopped dancing in the first place. This Is It team was truly an amazing company to work with from start to finish. From our first meeting with Keli and James we immediately had that "family" feeling. We felt like we had known them forever just from their excitement ! This Is It was one of the best choices we made for our wedding day! They played a huge part in making sure the day ran smoothly and seamlessly, and so much of that is due to the hard work that's put in "behind the scenes". We worked with Jimmy Shoez and DJ Rob Beats, and couldn't have asked for a better team! We had a total of 4 meetings (FaceTime/phone calls) between the two of them in order to make sure every detail was addressed. The calls were thorough but to-the-point, so we felt well taken care of, but NOT overwhelmed. Jimmy was incredibly genuine in every interaction we had with him. He made sure every part of the schedule was taken care of, is present and attentive during both the prep and special day, and his demeanor and approach puts you at ease. He is truly invested in making the day special for you, and looking back we couldn't imagine the process without him. DJ Rob is an incredible talent!! I have known Davey basically all my life. After we got engaged I reached out on Facebook for a good, recommendable DJ. ALL of my the feedback was "This Is It Entertainment" and what an amazing MC Davey was. After meeting with James, our DJ, who was so professional but yet down to earth, we knew that we were going with them. We had multiple meetings with them, and they always made us feel so confident that it was going to all go smoothly. It was more like hanging out with a bunch of friends whenever we would go there. Each time we left, we wished our wedding was that night, because of how excited they got us. The wedding went awesome!! They did our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. They had everyone out on the dance floor, from my 5 year old nephew to my 98 year old grandfather.. And everyone in between!! From the beginning of our experience with This Is It, we felt accommodated constantly. We had Davey as our emcee, James as the DJ, and JP as the light technician. I felt no concern for what we would receive the day of our wedding because the staff showed that they were there for us in every way. Not only that, but the team was legitimately excited to perform for us; I did not feel like we were just another paycheck for them. The website also allowed for us to easily note down songs that we wanted to be played the night of, as well as songs not to be played. We had very specific tastes when it came to the music that we wanted played at our wedding. To be specific, we wanted a club-like feel with a lot of electronic dance music. The This Is It team completely met our standard in music choices and our wedding really felt like it was tailored specifically for us. Aside from music choice, another important criteria was the lighting, which was phenomenal. The light system, lasers, and haze was amazing when combined with the music. From both sides of the family, just about everyone was on the dance floor. Most surprising, the bride's father, who does NOT dance, was dancing. This Is It gave us a night that we will never forget and we are all waiting for our video of the night so we can watch the dancing and hear the music again. This Is It came at the recommendation of a good friend of mine who used them for his wedding, and enjoyed their production so much that he joined on with them as an MC. We had James (DJ), Will (MC) and JP (tech) come to do our reception as well as provide speakers for a string duet at our ceremony. They were thorough and meticulous in their preparation, but kept the atmosphere light and fun. At our reception, the dance floor was NEVER empty. They helped fill in some of those awkward lulls in our reception, like while food was being served, or the cake was being cut, etc. People from all generations came up to us in the days after the event to tell us how much fun they had. We had a perfect mix of music to keep the older crowd into it towards the beginning, and cranked up the intensity towards the end of the night as they faded. Most importantly, my bride and I always - and I mean ALWAYS - felt like This Is It had our event totally under control. From the moment you meet the amazing crew to the very end, you feel confident that everything is going to be perfect for your special day. I am very Type A personality with specific lists for everything, but James and Davey exceeded my expectations! We hired This Is It Entertainment for our wedding at The Mill Lakeside Manor on August 26th, and could not be more satisfied with them. From our introductory call with Kelli to working with Jimmy and DJ Dan Tranquil, the entire team was fantastic to work with. Jimmy took extensive time to get to know us personally, as well as learn about our family and wedding party, so that he could be the best possible emcee on site. He was incredibly personable throughout the process, and really put as at ease in the run-up to the event. On-site, he did such a great job that one of my guests just assumed that he was a family friend based on how well he seemed to know us and run the evening. DJ Dan was also terrific to work with. I just finished hosting my gym's 4th annual award ceremony and we couldn't have been more pleased with choosing This Is It Entertainment!! JP Kinney was our event specialist and made the entire booking process easy. He listened to our needs and was very helpful and professional with all of our questions. We went with a "Static Up-Lighting" enhancement (TOTALLY worth it for the overall ambience of the main ballroom) and DJ Dan was our DJ for the event. Incredibly professional, fun and energetic crew of DJs, MCs and percussionists who generally care about your dance floor dreams and overall vision. Every single one of our 180 guests told us they have never danced so hard or so much, and numerous people have already asked us for the name of our DJ company because they want to hire them for their own events. Our dance floor was the happiest place in the world for 5 hours straight, and that is a testament to the thought and consideration that this team put into our celebration. As if all of this wasn't enough, we had to make a last minute change for our outdoor ceremony due to bad weather, which impacted the time at which the DJ could set up for the reception.
