My daughter and I shared the burrata pizza, others had the caprese salad and hummus platter. When the bill arrived, it was on top of a notebook that had really vulgar words on it (yes, I know it's 21+ but it's a business) when my mom mentioned it, the waiter said "you should see the inside" and walked away.

That being said, we wanted a quieter setting. There was a band playing when we arrived but saw there was outside seating which was perfect because we enjoyed the music that was being played, but again, we wanted to talk. The porch was a perfect place to do both! The music was loud enough we could hear it but quiet enough that we had a wonderful time, drinking our wine/cocktails and hanging out. The inside was also super chill because it's dimly lit and there are two bar areas. If we lived closer, I could see my husband and I coming here often for a date spot or with friends! When we arrived, one of the staff members was helpful because we hadn't been here before so we weren't sure where to order. We went to the bar as instructed and ordered our drinks. My aunt and I both ordered a glass of wine--she had a sav. Blanc and I got the Prosecco. The guys ordered a dark and stormy, the hibiscus house cocktail, and a Manhattan. We all enjoyed our drinks thoroughly! If you are visiting the area, stop by!!

The space itself is genuinely grand, well-decorated, comfortable seating, a nice billiards room, and (maybe the highest compliment you can pay a pub) no old-bar smell or locals that make you feel out of place. The bathrooms were clean. The whole place was clean. For a neighborhood spot built around long conversations, it delivers. The drinks are the reason to come. The Riesling on the menu was good, and the winter bourbon (infused with apple), actually tasted spirited. What I appreciated most: no snootiness. Some Scottish and Irish pubs get precious about sticking to the house whisky program and gently disapprove if you order a cocktail or wine. Not here. They let you drink what you want to drink. Service was friendly and checked in at a good cadence. One note: the food came out way too fast. Appetizers hit the table, and the mains arrived about a minute later; we barely got into the fried cheese curds or tandoori fries before everything else was competing for space. The tandoor twist on the fries was a fun surprise, but generally the food read as average pub food. The salmon was dry (lesson learned: order it medium rare next time). The mashed potatoes on the shepherd's pie were the real highlight. 3.5 Stars. Credit where it's due: the menu is wide and actually vegan- and vegetarian-friendly, which is rarer than it should be in a pub, and there is a general playfulness in the atmosphere. What would push it higher: food that matches the level of the space, the excellent service, and the drinks. Pace out the courses, the salmon needs help, and strengthen the dishes a notch. We'll go back, just not for the salmon. The room, the drinks, and the staff all brought their A-game. The kitchen brought a B-game.

Suitcase Social Club Dispatch No. 47: "Timmy vs. The Lumberjacks"…read more If you've ever wondered what happens when a grown man with sales quotas, a mild caffeine imbalance, and the attention span of a golden retriever discovers competitive lumberjack sports streaming on the bar TV... well, allow me to submit Exhibit A. I wandered into Main Street Bar & Eatery for what was supposed to be a "quick bite between quotes." Instead, I became spiritually welded to a barstool while the TV blasted a man in flannel yeeting a chainsaw like it owed him money. And the fried pickles. Good grief. Those things ambushed me. One minute I'm thinking "I'll just have a snack," and the next I'm waist-deep in a basket of fried circles of temptation, crunching my way into oblivion while pretending to "work." My laptop was open, sure, but let's not lie to ourselves -- I got absolutely nothing done. I was too busy yelling advice at professional lumberjacks like I'd trained for this moment my whole life. Tim the Suitcase Regular Rating Breakdown: * Atmosphere: Cozy but with the unpredictable energy of a log-rolling final * Food: Fried pickles that could ruin a man's productivity in the best possible way * Service: Friendly, fast, and kindly nonjudgmental of whatever fever dream I was living in * Entertainment: 10/10 involuntary lumberjack immersion If you're looking for a place where you can lose an entire afternoon under the noble banner of "I swear I'm still working", Main Street Bar & Eatery is the arena. Suitcase Social Club™ stamp of approval: Earned.

We stopped by our first day for lunch and I ordered the classic Reuben and fries. Both were delicious I loved the fries so much. Those were bomb! My favorite cocktail was the Italian Spritz. It was so light and just a nice refreshing drink for the afternoon. Service was average. Nothing terrible or great.
