Old place was a great, old school diner. The new owners are making it even better. Menu is a mix of traditional diner staples and familiar but creatively tweaked classics. We have been stopping in every weekend on our way home from the flea market and we've loved everything we've tried.

The Roadside Diner is a classic New Jersey diner. It's fairly small, but we came in for a late breakfast and were seated in a comfy booth right away. Service was pretty good and our orders came out quickly. I had the western omelet, potatoes and wheat bread. The omelet and potatoes seemed a bit heavily salted, but still good.

You will find an old-fashioned diner in Wall Township. Website: 4/5 I appreciated the website design giving off the early 20th century vibes with the bold, sharp-cornered letters and the images of the diner and James Dean, and the black background and white letters give off coziness before you even step into the establishment. However, only a few menu items have images accompanying them. It is also easy to navigate with a view of the menus, though clicking the menu items does not take you to an order form, which I find quite redundant. Brand: 5/5 The brand of the Roadside Diner definitely gives off the classic diner vibes, from the steel exterior to the sliding door to the booths and bar. From the outside to the inside, the diner hopes to maintain its old-fashioned diner aesthetic. Ambiance: 3/5 The cramped space of the diner can definitely work against it, since it got quite noisy inside. Despite this issue, we did not find a booth uncomfortably small, for it accommodated us well. I did appreciate the classic rock playing over the radio at a tolerable volume. Nonetheless, the diner was well-kept and clean. Service: 5/5 Despite the sounds all around me, the staff managed to get my order as I pointed at the menu. Wait Time: 5/5 We experienced no interruptions while awaiting our orders. Food: 5/5 I ordered the Jersey Breakfast Club special, which consisted of a sandwich with pork roll, two eggs, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise, cluttered with Red Skin Home Fries, along with orange juice. I can say it helped me gain a new appreciation for New Jersey cuisine. Just like any Jersey-inspired dish, it had a hearty taste while also having subtle amounts of tanginess. The toasted bread held its form despite the sandwich being cut into four pieces. The home fries provided a tangy taste to the dish, while the lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise, and pork roll gave the sandwich its hearty taste. The Jersey Breakfast Club filled me up throughout the day. Worth The Money?: 5/5 The Roadside Diner maintains its brand with the food since breakfast is a major theme of the food. The unique Jersey brand showcased itself in my course so profoundly. Despite the cramped space, the food definitely outweighed any negative experiences. The wait time fitted the meal, for its well-cooked warmth helped ensure that I had a pleasant breakfast. The images of the diner on the website does give you an idea of what to expect. The space was expected, just as much as the menu. A wide selection for such a small place helps make this establishment stand out. While maintaining its traditional appearance, the Roadside Diner does keep up to date with technology. It definitely helps the establishment to have its traditional status evolve with time. I have no real suggestions, and I consider the price well worth it. Rating: 5/5 Stars I cannot be too sure about the future of old-fashioned diners, but I will say that I appreciated the Roadside Diner continuing the tradition in its own way. Recommend To... Anyone driving through the highway and is looking for that old-fashioned diner to frequent.

I was told that 5,000 railcar diners were produced. Pocket doors are used for such close quarters.

The new owners have been in business for a couple of months. It's not their first diner and their service and entrees show this. The nostalgia is all around you; Albiet you can see it all from wherever you sit, it's that small and quaint. Definitely worth checking out.

If you have two hours to waste on mediocre food then the roadside diner is the place for you. I blame John Roscoe.

We ordered the honey vanilla pecan stuffed French toast, the lemon blueberry stuffed French toast, and the Bavarian cream stuffed French toast. All three of us thoroughly enjoyed our food. On this off-season Thursday morning, the restaurant was not busy at all. Contrary to what others had warned, we had no difficulty and no delay in being seated or served.

Outside seating was available but it was too chilly for us. Service: 5/5 GF and I We had Gabby as a waitress and she was super friendly. She gave us great ordering advice. She checked on us regularly and made us feel at home. Food: 5/5 GF 4.8/5 ME Corned beef hash: 5/5 GF and I We loved it! It wasn't oily and cooked to perfection. Pancakes: 5/5 GF 4.8/5 ME GF had the regular pancake and she loved it. Fluffy and tasty. This is without syrup. I had the banana walnut pancake. It was delicious but I prefer a thinner, crispier pancake. Just my preference but the taste was good. Home fries: 5/5 GF and I Great potatoes. Fresh onions and peppers. Seasoned nicely. Lattes: 4/5 GF and 4.8/5 ME Iced caramel and iced vanilla oat milk. They were good. I ordered a bacon, onion and Cabot cheddar omelet that came with a biscuit. I can't rate this yet because after most of my pancakes and my latte and shared corn beef, I was full. I'll eat this tomorrow!! The total was $74. Well worth the price because I have an untouched meal for tomorrow and my GF had bacon and eggs which were fine.

This starts off dark but it ends with bagels and joy, trust me!…read more We had been at Jersey Shore Med Center all week as our mother transitioned, finally, at 4am on Christmas Eve. When hospice staff finally ushers us out of her room at 6:20 we are left to collect our hearts and heads and move forward. Mom loved the beach and the sun will be rising soon. But we are short on sleep and need comfort in this time. What says comfort at 6:30 in the morning better than the staff and bagels at Hole in One? We piled in the car to grab our favs and then ate breakfast peacefully on the beach in Ocean Grove as the sun rose. We reflected on life and death and family... And the joy of a soft, toasty bagel. I also had a Red Bull which may or may not seem insane lol If it was any other bagel shop we may not have gone there that morning (there are closer shops to the beach than this one!). I mean who goes straight for bereavement bagels at dawn after 3 hours of sleep? Well the staff at Hole in One are always so great and friendly. And the bagels are possibly the best you can get between Red Bank and Neptune. And their sandwiches? Delicious. That little danish/turnover type of pastry thing that was kind of warm when they gave it to me? SO TASTY. Please stop by when you get the chance!

I would've liked it try it when they still used fries but the chips were still good. i got one of their dirty sodas and will say it wasn't my favorite but i enjoyed the creativity and extra option past just alcohol and coffee. overall though the portions are massive and well worth the price, the food is creative, fresh, and outright delicious. if you're in the area this place is a MUST. The location is a little further than we would normally travel, but it was worth it. I loved all the farm to table foods they have.
