Love this place, great burgers, great sweet tea, great vibes and atmosphere. It's no wonder how this place is an icon on rt 66. I didn't even mention their sky high pies that I'm always too full to try. Great place. Is also like to mention we called in our order 30 minutes before they closed, we walked in 15 minutes pre closing and they were STILL so gracious. I was a chef after the army, we always HATE when people come in last minute, and i know it's the same everywhere, and they were still so nice and just said cmon, we got you. Love that, I'll always go when I'm in the area.

An iconic roadside restaurant and bar nestled off route 66. There are slim pickings in this town for some good grub, but The Roadkill Cafe does a great job. I have the particular experience of being a vegetarian. And I tend to get a little awkward at steakhouses and the like. I ordered the garden salad, which was MASSIVE. And the cheese crisp, which was also MASSIVE! Both were delicious, and I'd order them again in a heartbeat. This place is really cool, even with all the taxidermy on the wall! My bartender was fabulous, and the ambiance was warm and cozy... again... even with all the taxidermy haha. Worth a stop!

Very good stop! The food was fresh and tasty. I liked the Elk Melt, lots of tender meat, plenty of veggies, and just the right amount of cheese. The pies are enormous! We had the Coconut Cream. The crust was very flaky and really made the pie. The coconut filling was delicious. My only fuss is that the cream was Cool Whip. The staff were nice, but a bit under staffed.

While on vacation, we drove from Arizona to Las Vegas, and stopped at this Cafe along the way. This was a cool spot. It was very interesting to see the historic route 66, and all of the unique stores along this road. We loved the vibe of this café. Every meal has a roadkill twist to its name. The staff were friendly too. We came for breakfast / brunch, so we tried these types of food from here. We ordered the chicken fried steak, hungry man breakfast, and biscuits with gravy. Everything tasted great. We definitely get large portions of food here. No complaints from us lol. The chicken fried steak was crispy, and had great flavors and seasoning. The perfect breakfast. The hungry man one the a cool mix to enjoy too. Loved the biscuits and gravy combination. Overall, a nice scenic cafe this was.

Great cafe! A friend recommended trying the bison and elk burger. My husband and I accepted the challenge. The bison burger was definitely more Smokey flavor compared to the elk. Both were tender and juicy, medium rare is the way to go. They offered seasoned fries so I jumped on that opportunity. Food came out hot and delicious. Bartender was very responsive and friendly had some great laughs and conversations. I'm a sucker for banana cream pie and man did the roadkill cafe deliver. The pie slices are massive.

I have to say I absolutely love this place. I have not stopped in a long time. But this was worth the stop. I was greeted my a young man named Aaron and being I was by myself he asked if I would prefer to sit in the saloon. Which sounded great and I sat at the bar. He mentioned they had a catfish special and that sounded great. I was greeted by a very nice gal named Lindsey who took my order and served me a cold Modelo as I waited for my food. We made conversation and another local sat near by and we talked some. My food arrived and was very tasty. I mean catfish in Seligman Arizona? How good could it be? Very good in fact. Perfectly cooked and the fries were very good as well. Some more locals came in and we had a fun time. Linsey is a great bartender. I highly recommend visiting her. I was on my way to the Ganado area of Arizona and had been driving all day from Northern Nevada. So this was a great stop. It very clean and welcoming.

On the road so we decide to stop and have dinner here. We were very impressed with the menu selections and overall decor inside. The staff was friendly and attentive, food good and souvenier shop inside is great. We wish we would of just split a dinner plate so we could try some of their pies and/or cakes, but unfortunately we were just too full. Overall, we had a very good experience and definately will stop again if we are passing through the area.

What an amazing meal. Well, technically it was two meals and a snack. We were passing through on RT 66 and this place looked like everything we wanted. The inside is fun and kitschy and bright and comfortable. We waited a few minutes to sit down and another few minutes to order, but once it was our turn the service was great. The menu has fun and silly names for what are pretty standard selections. I forgot the name of our appetizer but it was the quesadilla open-faced. Perfect and delicious. Our entrees were overwhelmingly large. The Reuben was good but the burger on texas toast with crunchy onions as a garnish was super memorable. The burger was thick and juicy...none of that smash burger stuff. The seasoned fries and Cole slaw were ok but the sandwiches more than made up for it. We brought home dessert to go with our leftovers, and wow. The carrot cake and the German chocolate cake are both clearly scratch made with high quality ingredients. It was not cheap but again, high quality food is worth the price. Do not hesitate.

This is a must stop when on route 66 Arizona....Located on the seligman part of the route. This is (IMHO) the stereotypical roadside diner. Nice cozy small town hospitality with good comfort food at a fair price. inside is airconditioned and has a cowboy western theme (wooden tables and chairs and alot of western deco) We went with the roastbeef and it was big enough to split and it was very tasty....I am sure all their menu items are good home like cooking ..The staff was cool and friendly......This is a must visit place because of the experience....

Passing thru on route 66 otw to grand canyon. Hungry. Found this roadside cafe. The name is interesting. Parking: plenty free spaces Restroom:2 individual restroom gender neutral restrooms There's 2 section you can dine in at, the saloon and regular dining area. We ordered: Club sandwich Chicken wrap Not bad, pretty fresh. They charge you convenience fee for using credit card. They also charge you $1.99 if you share. The guy that served us was very nice and friendly, unlike the lady.

I had the patty melt. Best burger I've had in a long time! Juicy, hot, and dripping -the only way a burger should be. My sweetie had the burger and chili and he said it was very good! Staff very nice too.

We were on a road trip from San Francisco to Chicago. After reviewing online and with the recommendations from our motel host and neighborhood around, we decided to come to the Roadkill Cafe. From what i was told, great meaning, great food, great atmosphere and great services. However, all were good but the services. We went on a weekday night, house was about 1/4 full, there was a waitress kept staring at us repeatedly without greeting us or seat us for about 15 mins, who happened to be our server later on. After seated, we weren't greeted, straight to asking for drink orders after another 15 mins. I ordered a cocktail, not quite satisfied. We ordered wraps, racks of ribs, steaks, sandwiches. We asked for recommendations, no answers. Some entrees came with salad, i asked for dressing options, she just mentioned it's on the menu. The server, named Lindsay, which we learned the name from some others later on, didn't check on us at all, ever when i raised my hand and called for services. Seems to me that she avoid any eye contacts nor approaches to our table. After our minimal requests such as extra plates, dressings were fulfilled by other servers/managers, Lindsay finally came to us to ask if everything was ok when we were about done with our meal. At the end of the meal, I tried to make some causal conversations with her about the neighbors recommendation, as i talked about it half way, she rolled her eyes and walked away... I have been in the hospitality business for over 20 years myself, and this is one of the worst service or attitude i have ever experienced as a customer or as a career. Management and other floor employees were nice, but just her i have hard time understanding. It seems to me that everyone around her had issues with her. But it's a small town with barely over 700 populations, so i guess everyone is everyone's friend. I don't want to get anyone in trouble, but i still want to speak out my experience with this place. Again, great food, great atmosphere, unique menu, which all names of the dishes are eyes widening. Just that single server who put an X to our experience in this dining. As for dining experiences, as long as it's not fast food; services, especially for higher end dining in town, counts more than food quality itself. This restaurant actually has what it got to shine in the town, but may need more work on picking the front house employees, even though choice maybe limited in a small town with only hundreds of residents. Best of luck!

Angel and Vilma Delgadillo, Original Owners [Seligman AZ]…read more I wasn't aware of the history of this store and since I had already purchased most of my souvenirs at another gift shop down the street we just took a look inside, formerly Angel's barbershop and pool hall, now a gift shop. Who is Angel Delgadillo? This man was credited for saving Route 66 in Arizona! Yes, wow... I was intrigued about his story! Before I-40 was erected Seligman saw 9,000 vehicles moved through the town every day, stopping at the businesses, restaurants, service stations, and motels in town. When a section of I-40 opened south of town a deathly stillness fell on this main drag. With the expansion of the Interstate 40, there seemed to be no more need for the old road... in 1985, U.S. 66 was officially decertified. Whaat? All signs were taken down and it was removed from maps. So sad! Sorry, you'd have to research the rest of the story yourself on the internet... As we entered the modest shop the interior is quite small and compact inside. It got crowded inside especially with two bus full of tourists!!! We perused the souvenirs and many apparel merchandise for sale. There are t-shirts, magnets, shot glasses, postcards, mugs, and just about anything you might want to collect. To the right is a tiny small space Angel used as his barbershop. After his retirement, the barbershop portion of the shop was converted to a museum, celebrating his and Seligman's legacy on Route 66. It is filled with photos, antiques, and memorabilia, including his antique barber chair with a cardboard cutout of Angel himself. I did not realize the extent of his popularity until I read stories about him. I wish I would've met him... Review #3704
