Check it out! If you are ever traveling on I-40 between Kingman and Flagstaff in Arizona, going either east or west, you out to stop at Seligman and get taste of history. Seligman was founded in 1886, but back then it was called "Prescott Junction" because it was the junction of the railroad from Prescott, AZ to the Santa Fe's main line. In 1886 it was renamed Seligman, after Jesse Seligman, who helped finance the railroad lines in the area. Seligman Commercial Historic District and some of the structures in it are individually listed in the National Register of Historic places. I do not believe the General Store is one of them, but regardless it is a great place to visit. You will find many pieces of merchandise that get your attention and you are likely to buy a souvenir or two. We must have spent at least 20-30 minutes walking through the isles and checking out stuff. And yes, we did not come out of the store empty handed!

We were embarking upon a road trip to The Grand Canyon. Along the way, my husband had mapped out some interesting places for us to visit. Knowing that I really like one of a kind novelty stores, he found The Historic Route 66 General Store. The general store is located in the town of Seligman which part of Route 66! You'll notice the 76 gas station out front and then the store is behind it. The exterior is reminiscent of the old west complete with the old time font in the signage. The wagon wheel bench is the cutest thing to have a seat on as you take a break from your long drive. Anyway, they sell a lot of one of a kind novelty gifts as well as necessities for your home. On one side of the shop, you'll find car parts and tools for locals. The other side is geared toward tourists looking gift Native American decor, Route 66 memorabilia, and knick knacks for your home. I was startled by what I thought was a statue. The sign said not to touch it because it's old and fragile. Since I'm a teacher, I know how to follow the rules. But all that I did was walk by it and it started talking and giving me a run down on the history of Route 66. I didn't get a photo of it because it caught me off guard and I jumped out of the way real quick. Nevertheless, prior to leaving, we picked up some stickers for our vehicles. I debated the live cacti magnets because I just knew that I'd hurt myself at some point. They also had this great assortment of sodas and other beverages that you don't see on a daily basis. I picked up some orange cream soda on the way out. The lady behind the counter was very helpful and friendly. She told us about the beauty of the Grand Canyon and really pumped us up for tomorrow's adventure. I also liked that she was on a first name basis with some of her customers. That small town feeling where everyone knows your name is quite refreshing. We wouldn't hesitate to stop by again when we're in the area. It's a cute little shop with a lot of interesting souvenirs for the whole family!

We stopped at the Historic Route 66 General Store on our road trip to Sedona, just to check it out. It's a great spot, with plenty of snack, drinks, souvenirs, and other retail options. We just looked around a bit, and I grabbed a Route 66 soda to try. (It was Cream Soda, and it was delicious.) Our service was quick and friendly. If you're driving Route 66, I think this store is a fine place to stop and check out.

On this Special Thanksgiving of 2018, we were close to ending the year of adventure, but the lifetime experience moves on. In March, we took a long journey to Seattle taking stops during our thousand mile journey. This time we were closer to home, but wanted to experience another famous route. On our way to the Grand Canyon, I plotted stops on one of the famous routes, Route 66. Then I found another special place called, Historic Route 66 General Store in Seligman, AZ. **ADVISORY NOTICE** As of 11/23/2018, If you are headed eastbound, exit 121 to State Route 40, is closed due to bridge renovation/construction. However, exit 123 from the eastside is open. Please do stop by as the exit closure is an inconvenience. Located at the far west side of the city of Seligman, AZ, you can not miss one of the main attractions. It may look simple on the outside, but sure is a place to grab a couple of souvenirs and take some cool photos. When you walk in, we thought it was a simple store that sold gas and automotive parts. When you look to your right, a haven of Route 66 Souvenirs! SCORE!! I had seen Historic Route 66 General Store on Yelp, but not enough information to give me an assurance to stop. Naturally, I had to add my experience and my wife already wrote this review to certify this place as MUST STOP! There was a special section dedicated for Route 66 Souvenirs. Even a section for Christmas Souvenirs. If you need snacks/drinks, Yes, they will serve your needs. There is a gas station onsite as well. Even my wife got some Orange Cream Soda to take home with her. I got a AZ Scratcher to take home as well to try my luck. Historic Route 66 General Store had tons of merchandise of Historic Route 66. There were some interactions from the mannequin dolls as well as they scared my wife when you walk by them. She screamed pretty well and even the store employee apologized. The additional highlight was the female employee who gave us a great conversation as we were just passing through. We even talked about the exit closure which I can see is hurting business because tourists have to drive further away to get into the city of Seligman. Seligman, AZ is the Birthplace of the Historic Route 66. With us staying in Williams, AZ for our Thanksgiving Trip, I need to make a return visit to Santa Monica for the end trip of Route 66. Still planning the trip to Chicago, but that may be later in life. That will require a lot of time on the road. When you travel to the Grand Canyon or simply driving through AZ. After writing this, I just realized that I have passed Seligman, AZ through when I was headed to Albuquerque, New Mexico. I am glad that I was able to share this historic moment with my wife. The Yelp Journey you take is an inspiration for others. Whether it is for them to try or to be in the footsteps of your experience. With every Yelp Story, it gives another day of bright light from the hidden shadows. Yelp Today and be heard!

This is a great store for anything you might need (except the Mother Road metal sign I was looking for) and truly hits the mark as a "general store". They have everything you need for your car, truck or motorhome, which was a surprise. Their Route 66 selection of gear was good, but they didn't have a huge selection of women's T-shirt's to choose from. Two styles this time. No biggie. I bought a Route 66 shirt and two beer koozies. The woman behind the counter had a great sense of humor. I think her name was Jo? All I know is she likes shots of Skyy vodka and the glasses here are "defective". Haha!! Great store for all that you need, and something you don't.

Neat little stop along our travels on Route 66. Lots of treasures, food, gifts, Route 66 merchandise, & so much more. They also sell gas there. Has a bathroom around the back & an area for pets to play & use the bathroom. The staff was very friendly and helpful as well!

Situated between Kingman and Flagstaff, Arizona, the General Store served as a gas stop and a potty spot, as well as a knickknack shop, outwear store, and a pause for witty local conversation. This Californian didn't realize it snowed in the desert, so I stocked up on snow gloves and a ridiculous looking pink hat equipped with ear-flaps and fur. I tried the hat on for the clerk and he swore I looked fine. My brother, on the other hand, laughed. At the front near the register the store has a bucket of classic Coca-Colas - you know, the ones with cane sugar. Perfect for my bro who doesn't drink coffee (crazy, I know) and needed a quick sugar rush after five hours on the road. The staff was super friendly and we chatted it up with them a bit about our travel plans. They were knowledgeable about the area and accommodations.

This picture was taken in 1983 of the Old 66 General Store while we were on a three week vacation.

This store has what the others don't: hardware, off grid living needs, amazing variety in gift shop, propane fill, best fuel prices in town.

Expensive. Everything I bought there was at least 50% less expensive at a place we stopped on the road a few miles west.

Angel and Vilma Delgadillo, Original Owners [Seligman AZ]…read more I wasn't aware of the history of this store and since I had already purchased most of my souvenirs at another gift shop down the street we just took a look inside, formerly Angel's barbershop and pool hall, now a gift shop. Who is Angel Delgadillo? This man was credited for saving Route 66 in Arizona! Yes, wow... I was intrigued about his story! Before I-40 was erected Seligman saw 9,000 vehicles moved through the town every day, stopping at the businesses, restaurants, service stations, and motels in town. When a section of I-40 opened south of town a deathly stillness fell on this main drag. With the expansion of the Interstate 40, there seemed to be no more need for the old road... in 1985, U.S. 66 was officially decertified. Whaat? All signs were taken down and it was removed from maps. So sad! Sorry, you'd have to research the rest of the story yourself on the internet... As we entered the modest shop the interior is quite small and compact inside. It got crowded inside especially with two bus full of tourists!!! We perused the souvenirs and many apparel merchandise for sale. There are t-shirts, magnets, shot glasses, postcards, mugs, and just about anything you might want to collect. To the right is a tiny small space Angel used as his barbershop. After his retirement, the barbershop portion of the shop was converted to a museum, celebrating his and Seligman's legacy on Route 66. It is filled with photos, antiques, and memorabilia, including his antique barber chair with a cardboard cutout of Angel himself. I did not realize the extent of his popularity until I read stories about him. I wish I would've met him... Review #3704

Such a great suggestion, I got the Honey Hot wings. Not as hot right off the bat as I'm used to but it was a slow burn and they came around. The flavor was better than my favorite wing spot in Chandler, so I was super impressed! My wife got a chicken wrap and she devoured it. She never finishes her meals, she said it was so good! Owner is blocking and deleting all negative reviews!…read more We had been in contact with Stacy for a consult in Dec. 2024. We discussed our colors schemes, I gave her swatches, and discussed budget during this consult. She was very understanding and very excited about the project, and so were we! She kept explaining how she understands everyones budget, and told me that she likes to keep constant communication during the process, especially because we are out of state. We signed the contract, I sent her even more inspiration photos, pinterest boards, and off we went. A few months later she states that she will have the flowers done by April, we were so excited. I kept seeing her interact with my pinterest boards, and I reached out to give her small updates/photos from time to time. She kept stating that she was working on stuff. We were so ahead of schedule I wasn't worried about anything at this point. Now comes July. I haven't heard from her in months (as she prided herself on her communication during our consult) and I reach out to her, sending more photos of things I liked. and she states she hasn't even started the flowers (again, we are ahead of schedule, I am not upset at all that they are not done yet). And then she starts asking me for inspiration photos again, and color schemes, things that have been well established, and I thought well communicated on our end because I kept reaching out. She then loses her mind on me, berating me about how things have changes and she has already ordered stuff that won't work anymore. When she sends me the photos of what she had bought, I told her the product was great and it would work for what we wanted. 1. Why did you not confirm the stuff you ordered with me first, like you prided yourself on doing during our consultation? 2. Why are you freaking out on me?! She then tells me that I am the problem, and that I have been stressing her out because I clearly don't trust her because I keep texting her, and its all my fault because my budget was so "low" she had to buy garbage flowers to make things work. Your contract specifically states that you will work with any budget, and we talked about the budget in detail at the consultation, we even told her the budget was flexible! Why is this a problem? And why are you shaming me for it? A few hours later after her freak out she cancels our order. Telling us we are the problem and that I should find someone in my state because I couldn't trust her. Which is absolutely not true. I tried to uphold my end of communication and my end of the contract, and she did not uphold hers, neglecting communication and respect. We are very disappointed that this had to end this way, we were so excited for what she was going to come up with, as she does great work. I think her business is too much to handle at this moment, and she wants to put the blame and stress on others. As a bride, I shouldn't have to talk a florist off the ledge. We wish her the best, but please take this lonnnng review in stride, and make sure you have clear and impeccable communication as she promises, or your order could end up like mine
