This a must stops along Route 66. They have snacks, souvenirs , and great collection of antiques and memorabilia. The restroom is clean and only for customers. The lady at the register is very pleasant and welcoming. I didn't get her name but she said she bought the place in 1987. There are also plenty of picture opportunities around the stores. Don't miss it!!
This is the center of the universe if you are a route 66 enthusiast like me. The shop itself is covered in items of interest, including celebrity photographs, license plates from around the United States in the world, and various other knickknacks. Angel's barbershop has been kept intact, including the barber chair. You're invited to sit in the chair and take a photograph if you wish. I had the chance to visit with Maurizio, who is so friendly and made me feel very welcome. They emphasize that roughly 85% of the items for sale are made in the United States. All of the items I saw in the shop where of good quality. Someday I'll come back.
If you're out getting your kicks on Route 66, this needs to be one of your stops. Souvenirs, some snacks and a great collection of antiques and memorabilia to look at--this place is great! I found a perfect magnet for my refridgerator, and there were t-shirts, mugs, shot glasses and keychains too! There was a restroom inside for customers only. It was clean but definitely on the tiny side. But if you've gotta go, it will do fine. Outside, there was plenty to see. I especially liked the VW van with hundreds of autographs on it. There is also a really neat mural along the side of the building--don't miss it!
A cute and nostalgic little place, complete with quirky signs, antiques, and route 66 merch...I'm a sucker for merch. There are plenty of picture opportunities around the store. Their cute little dog seems to have become their mascot. So creeky and musty I'm suprised they even take credit cards, though I'm happy that they do. I have a feeling tour busses have made some sort of agreement with the place the way our tour guide talked up the store on our way there. So I bought my merch, grabbed a complimentary coffee, took some pics, and headed out. The only thing that has scarred my experience with this place is the following: the lady at the counter flagged a man from the store down and told him to keep an eye on a darker skinned man in dreadlocks to make sure he isn't stealing anything. That gentleman with dreadlocks was part of our bus tour and he was very nice. Racist much? I leave this caveat with you so that you can be wary of the store owners when you visit.
This is cute little shop we stopped by on our way to the Grand Canyon. It is the Original Route 66 gift shop store/ memorabilia & visitors center opened by the Delgadillos. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by one of the store clerks who was glad to tell us a little history about the shop. I was amazed by how dedicated the Delgadillos were committed to keep the place running. The store itself has a vintage feel which I thought was cool. There is a wide variety of gift items/ souvenirs you can purchase. Also like the other reviews say, there is a barber shop inside the store and it looks a lot like a set from 1950s. The store clerks were very friendly and helpful. I was looking for a souvenir plate because my mom collects those. They didn't have many but the one I got was pretty neat. Another great thing about this store is that they offer free coffee and free restrooms. I know drinking coffee in the heat may seem like something crazy to do but if you are driving long hours BELIEVE me you will need that extra cup of java. If you are driving through Seligman, on Route 66 you need to stop by this store/visitor center because you will be amazed by how much history this place has. It was hands down worth the stop. Highly recommend.
This store is a must stop. Angel & Vilma Delgadillo's Original Route 66 Gift Shop is one of the stores (barber shop) on the main road in Seligman. The staff is very knowledgeable on Arizona Route 66 info.
This is a very wonderful and cute little shop. According to our tour guide Lankun, Angel is a 96 year old legend who worked tirelessly to establish Route 66 as a historic highway. Yes, Angel is still very much alive. Unfortunately, none of us (the tour group) saw him last Sunday morning as he was not at the shop. This place has all kinds of Route 66 souvenirs. Hats, DVD's, Shirts, Pens, Cups, Bells, etc. Besides all the souvenirs, there is the barber shop. And yes, Angel still cuts people's hairs. The folks who works here were extremely excellent and very welcoming. As a matter of fact, one of them said that there was a bunch of Japanese tourists who went crazy when they spotted a famous Japanese personality the day before. They also told us that they had no idea who the famous person was. It is nice to hear that the place is world famous that famous folks will pop in. If you find yourself in Arizona, you must stop by this place.
This is the old Route 66 gift shop streets, at this moment, there are no more tourist or international tour bus for now. Business are going down due to the restriction traveling, this is my second time visits since 2004. This is a wonderful area to explore the 60s and 70s souvenirs.
Nostalgia nostalgia!! According to our tourist guide Derek this is where the movie CARs got their inspiration for the backdraft. It is a cute memorable place to buy souvenirs and stuffs.
The place that started the Route 66 revival. Loved the place and had a great conversation with Angel's son in law about Angel and the shop. Sadly we missed Angel himself. At ninety one he still rides his bike home after hanging out at the shop and he'd just left. Lots of souvenirs and also tons of personal history to soak up. So glad we made it there.
Get your kicks at the Route 66 gift shop! Very cool 50's style place with cool memorabilla!

I was immediately impressed when we arrived and were greeted right out front by Clarissa, one of Angel Delgadillo's daughters, with a huge smile and such genuine warmth. That welcoming, family feeling really set the tone for our entire visit! Angel & Vilma Delgadillo's Original Route 66 Gift Shop and historic barbershop was one of the absolute must-do anchor stops of the Grand Canyon/Route 66 weekend I took with my 11-year-old son, Jake. Before our trip, we had learned the story of Angel Delgadillo and how he spearheaded the grassroots effort to preserve Historic Route 66 after Interstate 40 bypassed Seligman. He helped organize the Historic Route 66 Association of Arizona and played such an important role not only in revitalizing his hometown, but in preserving a treasured piece of Americana and American history for future generations. The story resonated with Jake so much that he chose Angel as the person he wanted to profile for his sixth-grade Hispanic Heritage Month social studies project. So imagine how special it was when we arrived and discovered that Angel's daughter Clarissa was there -- and that Jake actually got to interview her for his project! Clarissa could not have been sweeter or more gracious with him. She seemed genuinely touched that a kid Jake's age knew who her dad was, was interested in what he had accomplished, and had traveled to Seligman wanting to learn more about him. Watching the two of them talk was one of those travel moments I know I'll remember for a very long time. The historic barbershop itself is fantastic. Angel began his barbering career in 1947 and ultimately spent 75 years barbering along Route 66 before retiring in 2022. Being able to stand inside his actual barbershop, see his barber chair, photographs, awards, memorabilia and pieces of his life story made the history feel incredibly tangible. Jake and I both took pictures in the barber chair next to Angel's image, and I got an especially wonderful photo of Clarissa taking a picture of Jake sitting in her dad's chair. We also learned from Clarissa that Angel played--and still plays---alto saxophone, and one of his saxophones is displayed on the wall. That was another wonderful coincidence for us because Jake just started playing alto saxophone himself this school year. We had no idea about that connection before visiting. The gift shop is also genuinely fun, with a great selection of Route 66 souvenirs and memorabilia. Jake particularly loved browsing all the different gift-shop items, and I loved the murals outside and all of the wonderful photo opportunities around the property. But what really distinguishes this place is the people. Everyone working there seemed genuinely happy to be there and proud to help preserve the story of Angel, Vilma, the Delgadillo family, Seligman and Route 66. Nothing about it felt like just another tourist gift shop. It felt like being welcomed into a living piece of Route 66 history. For us, this wasn't simply a stop to buy a souvenir. It was one of the most meaningful experiences of our entire Route 66 weekend, and I'm especially grateful to Clarissa for taking the time to make Jake's visit something he'll probably remember for the rest of his life. An absolute must-stop in Seligman for anyone who cares about Route 66, American history, or the people who fought to preserve it. read more
This is a must-see if you are a Route 66 and Angel Delgadillo's efforts to maintain its legacy. It is nicely preserved, clean and staffed by friendly employees. There are lots of photo ops both inside and out. You get a great feeling waling in and around the gift shop which maintain a barbershop feel. read more
Angel and Vilma Delgadillo, Original Owners [Seligman AZ] I wasn't aware of the history of this store and since I had already purchased most of my souvenirs at another gift shop down the street we just took a look inside, formerly Angel's barbershop and pool hall, now a gift shop. Who is Angel Delgadillo? This man was credited for saving Route 66 in Arizona! Yes, wow... I was intrigued about his story! Before I-40 was erected Seligman saw 9,000 vehicles moved through the town every day, stopping at the businesses, restaurants, service stations, and motels in town. When a section of I-40 opened south of town a deathly stillness fell on this main drag. With the expansion of the Interstate 40, there seemed to be no more need for the old road... in 1985, U.S. 66 was officially decertified. Whaat? All signs were taken down and it was removed from maps. So sad! Sorry, you'd have to research the rest of the story yourself on the internet... As we entered the modest shop the interior is quite small and compact inside. It got crowded inside especially with two bus full of tourists!!! We perused the souvenirs and many apparel merchandise for sale. There are t-shirts, magnets, shot glasses, postcards, mugs, and just about anything you might want to collect. To the right is a tiny small space Angel used as his barbershop. After his retirement, the barbershop portion of the shop was converted to a museum, celebrating his and Seligman's legacy on Route 66. It is filled with photos, antiques, and memorabilia, including his antique barber chair with a cardboard cutout of Angel himself. I did not realize the extent of his popularity until I read stories about him. I wish I would've met him... Review #3704 read more

I didn't actually get a hair cut, but rather stopped and took a peek. It is super crowded because it is a tourist stop. I chatted with Delgadillo's nephew. He's a very nice and knowledgeable fellow who is happy to talk about his uncle! read more
