    Eggplant garlic and noodles.
    Mark R.

The garlic eggplant was heavily coated with a dark overpowering seasoning. I expected white rice to accompany but it was given noodles, again, seasoned heavily where you couldn't tell what exactly you were eating. Not an enjoyable meal in my opinion.

Always love this place, after having it catered by my job. My dad loves Asian food, so I decided to get him hip to this place... I love the futuristic vibes and background music. This place was clean and I was able to order quickly without any issues. We ordered; App: Scallion Pancake Entrees: Pepper steak & Sesame Chicken both w/ noodles and chicken eggroll I like that you are able to control the spice in each dish; no spice, med or extra spicy. The food is always awesome here, no complaints. I was surprised that there was plenty of parking, despite its awkward location. My dad loved the noodles, they should rename it to "noodle box" Enter freely, they've been approved

Please start being considered neighbor. Thank you. This is a view from all our front balconies every day.

John P, the owner of Rice box, I live by your joint and do not need delivery if I choose to eat your food. Your customers do not park where they supposed to. Your waste trap overflowing last week of Thanksgiving week was the most disappointing and disgusting experience we had in our neighborhood for decades. You should treat your neighbors a little better!

I still love rice box when I'm in Houston the vibe is unmatched major meow wolf energy! The food is good and decently priced too! The lady that took my order was so incredibly sweet can't wait to go back thank you for the great food and consistently!

I stopped by for some quick dinner and was impressed by the tasty food and timely service. The place was clean and was decorated in a lovely and fun manner, with colorful low lights and plenty of seating. There were multiple faction movies playing all at once and the bright menus that made up an entire wall made it easy to order. I had the general tsao's chicken meal with the chicken egg roll and it was really good. The flavors were rich and the textures were succulent. Really good quality and quantity for what I was looking for.

This place is so cool!! It's so high tech and I feel like I just walked into a restaurant in Tokyo, Japan. The food is really good and just even the chicken fried rice itself is very good. I will say that The portions are very large so they are definitely splittable. The first time we went, we got our own entrées and then the next time we went, we just split one and that was more than enough for both me and my boyfriend. Service was really fast. Even the second time when we ordered it online it was ready before we even got there. This is definitely a place you want to take a lot of photos. Even have like a nice outside area because it is a little bit cold inside the restaurant. Bring a jacket.

Random craving for egg rolls so I tried this place out. The interior is nice. There is parking but the lot is oddly shaped. Customer service is non-existent - at least it was when I dined in. It gave vollect payment and then we don't care energy. There is a variety of options on the menu. I ordered what I call the beef with broccoli . The portion size was fulfilling. The fried rice just lacked flavor -which was disappointing. Even when you add the duck sauce the fried rice was just bland. Also, I dined in and it was interesting that you don't get refills on fountain drinks.

Chicken Curry. Tender chicken. Just barely crispy carrots. The random sweet potatoes. The curry sauce. Love.

Husband and I have a 7 year tradition now. Eat at Rice Box. Go look at fancy Christmas lights. Usually we do it mid December. But we did it Jan 3 this year. Fewer lights, but same great experience. Food is delicious. I know they've rebranded to make everything look like them and not a random takeout. Perfect. Our date night included beer, 2 Star Wars movies and 2 Keanu Reeves movies. Perfect date night.

Love the lights and the tech feel. My kiddo was obsessed and she's definitely hard to please aesthetically. Tall guy with the long hair was super nice and friendly!! Great customer service and it's so hard to come by these days. So thank you!! Tonight I got the lg house fried rice with chicken. It's a great portion for two or for one person and have left overs. I appreciate the flavor and the green onions sliced just right in the rice. I also like that the rice is the right texture. It's not mushy or too wet. It's a nice dry rice that's light but gets your full. I also ordered the noodles as a side and that was plenty to eat as a full entree. I will be back!! And maybe even tomorrow!!

I have been looking for a place to get quality Chinese food since my favorite spot closed. I was wanting take out and had heard about the Rice Box before so I decided to give it a try. I loved the colorful decor outside and thought a bit standard on the inside. Decent amount of seating if coming in when it's not busy. I usually start with a basic entree to test how good a new Chinese food spot may be, as not all are created equal. The basic entree I went with was Fried Rice. The Rice Box delivered big time on this one! Ordering online for pickup, I added Chicken and Shrimp to my fried rice, and really appreciated having the option to add broccoli to it as well. With fried rice orders you also have a choice of egg rolls. I chose Chicken, again. For a price of about $16 I got plenty of food to take back home. The rice was cooked perfectly, with the chicken and shrimp being tender, flavorful, and delicious. The egg rolls on the other hand was average - I've had better. Nonetheless, the test was passed with flying colors, so it is safe to say I will be returning to try other entrees. Receiving my order for pick up was pretty quick which was a plus. If you're looking for your next favorite Chinese food spot, check out The Rice Box. Enjoy!

Rice Box is kind of a fancier, more aesthetic Panda Express. The selling point is that they give decent sized portions, about 1-3 meals, depending on your appetite. I ordered the Mongolian Chicken, and it was a saucy, stir fried chicken with snow peas, carrots, and onions. It tasted like those individual ingredients were thrown together in a wok, which is to say tasted fine, but not mind blowing. Their two spice level is medium and extra spicy, which makes no sense lol. I got extra spicy and it was barely spicy nor were the peppers very spicy. The rice was also overly dry and crumbly, which made it really difficult to eat with chopsticks. The meal also comes with an egg roll with chicken or vegetable as options. In total it was about $15 for the meal. Pretty good value, especially if you can make it stretch over 2 meals. I also tried the chow fun, which I really enjoyed the flavor of. Will definitely be getting that next time. I really do see this place's main competitor as Panda Express. I would argue that PE will get you your food faster, albeit slightly less fresh, but with roughly equivalent value and flavor. I'd definitely come back if I was in the area but would not go out of my way to come here.

I found this food pretty lackluster, but I might've just ordered the wrong thing. I got curry chicken and I didn't realize that it was just chicken, sweet potato, and carrots... and I don't like sweet potatoes or carrots. Their fried rice was good - just plain old rice fried with some egg. The crab Rangoons were good and so were the egg rolls. I'm sure I'll eat here again because my friends enjoyed their food, so I'll update my review when I get something better next time. I will say that I found it hard to focus on the menu on the wall because there were so many moving parts on it, but that might just be a me problem. I much preferred looking at the menu on my phone. There was a pretty long wait even though there weren't a lot of people eating there, but I think they get a lot of takeout orders so maybe that's why. The tables are all long so it's sort of communal seating. There's also outdoor seating.

As a huge Houston foodie, rice box is honestly not bad at all for a nice chill Chinese takeaway dinner! It's not what you would expect as "good authentic Chinese food" but just something basic and nice. A little pricy though. The chongqing chicken wasn't a bit dry but general Tso and fried rice was great. Their service is also good and they will bring the takeout to you in your car.

It was missing that traditional savory, umami flavor, and instead tasted only like cream cheese. The outer layer also didn't hold up well. It wasn't strong or crispy enough to support the filling, so everything felt soft and fell apart. It honestly made it difficult to eat without a spoon (which they did include). Honestly, every dish we've ever tried here has been fantastic--it hits exactly the right spots. The Flavor Profile: A quick heads-up for those seeking "authentic" traditional Chinese--this isn't it. This is the Indianized version of Chinese food (Indo-Chinese), so prepare for bold spices and a serious kick. If you grew up loving those specific flavors, Monk's is the gold standard. The Verdict: The heat is on point, the portions are great, and the flavors are nostalgic and bold. It's the kind of meal we look forward to all the way down I-10. Truly a gem for anyone who appreciates the spicy, savory fusion of Desi Chinese!

I walked in and the spices were spicing so much so that I started sneezing. I asked if maybe the dining area was through some door, but no there is no dine in. It's a small space with a register and seats to wait for your order or you can wait in your car. Food: 4/5 Chicken Tikka Masala it was creamy and velvety, I'm not a big fan of tomato but know is a core part of it, which I did distinguish the taste in this order that I haven't usually tasted in others. The garlic naan had good flavor however it was a bit tough and crunchy when biting into it. Which wasn't my favorite, but got the job done to dip into the sauce.

For drinks, I got the Mekhong Mojito and it was sweet and refreshing! For appetizers, we got the crispy squid and the crispy wonton- crispy squid was good but if you had to choose between the two, get the crispy wonton! As for the entree, I ordered the Khao Soi with shrimp and my friend ordered the spicy red snapper. The curry broth with coconut milk was fragrant and with the toppings that came on the side (i.e. lime, onions/shallots, mustard greens, etc) enhanced the dish. The flat egg noodles were bouncy and the shrimp was solid. If you're stuck between choosing a curry dish and a noodle dish, get the best of both worlds and order the Khao Soi! As for my friend's spicy red snapper, I tried a bite and the spices/texture in the dish complimented the fish very well. For dessert, we ordered the classic Mango Sticky Rice! The mango was soft/sweet, the rice and sauce had that salty coconutty flavor. Aside from the delicious food, the interior is cozy and the waiters here were friendly and gave great advice on what to order. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area and are craving good thai food!

They have that street food vibe as a well representation of their name, Rim Tanon, which means roadside. With dedicated parking that fills up quick during peak times, it may be difficult to locate parking as it is shared with a few other restaurants and the spaces are quite tight. We tried their appetizers including Salmon Rolls (flavorfully packed with cream cheese, salmon, and spinach in a crispy shell and loving that actually spicy mayo on the side), Thai Style Jerky (deep fried and sun dried marinated pork and beef served with sticky rice rolls and side spicy tamarind sauce, a bit too dry/chewy), Fried Tofu (perfect little triangles, so good by itself or with the side sweet and sour sauce with crushed peanuts), Chive Pancake (deep fried and chive packed triangles with a slight chew to it, great by itself or with it's spicy soy sauce companion). As for the mains, the Spicy Seafood Fried Rice is a good value as it was loaded with all sort of fruits of the sea (shrimp, squid, and mussel), with prominent lemongrass and kaffir lime aroma, but a bit wet or moist for a fried rice dish, the Crabmeat Omelet is served with a nice portion of lump crabmeat where you can taste the flavor of the seafood and add sriracha to liking, and the Beef Pad See Ew is made appetizing with wok charred flat rice noodles along with a savory blend of soy sauce, Chinese broccoli and egg. The portion size is alright and filling for a moderately hungry individual, though it would've been even better a tad bigger for those coming in hangry. I'll be back for more when I'm craving some modern Thai food and especially want to try their curry dishes. Service was quick and efficient, attentive to refills on drinks and friendly!

For the food, the only thing I didn't love was the salad that came with the entree. It was very watery. The sushi rolls were good, and the spicy ones with jalapeños were actually spicy (I have pretty good spicy tolerance)! The cervice maki was definitely the spiciest.

I am pretty easily pleased when it comes to sushi, but this sushi was displeasing to our taste buds. The service was also glaringly bad. Our plates with various discarded shells and other trash were not taken until the very end. I kept pushing it closer to the edge of the table, and they kept ignoring it. It ended up being $70 total (with happy hour discounts) for two people for the worst sushi I've had at a restaurant. This is what we got: Citrussy maki: had to order it because of the funny name. They had large pieces of lemon and lime on the sushi, which was so upsetting and unexpected to get a mouthful of. After we realized this and picked them off, the sushi was okay to me. I thought the creamy mango yogurt was interesting and alright, while my friend did not like it. Crunch maki: this one was relatively normal and tasted fine. There was way too much tempura for the amount of sushi though. Chilango maki: definitely my favourite out of all the maki we ordered. The strawberries added a nice taste. We had to remove the jalapenos though because they did not compliment the sweetness well. Rainforest maki: this one was atrocious. The ingredients listed on the menu sounded pretty normal, but we discovered the sauce tasted awful. I don't know what kind of sauce it was, and I still forced myself to eat it, but my friend took one bite and gagged. Crab meat puff: the outer fried shell was too hard and didn't taste good, while the inside was way too creamy. Mango martini: this was really good and sweet. Seems like the drinks might be better than the food here. The server handed me a ticket for parking garage validation at the end, and I was so confused because I didn't see any signs that said we could park in the garage. The garage looked like it was a private residential garage. We had found nearby street parking, so I was also perturbed that this wasn't clearly indicated anywhere.
