    Shrimp Biryani
    Victor H.

Did a door dash order here early September cause I wasn't in the mood to cook and indian food was on my mind. Found this spot and placed an order for a few items which were: Veggie Samosa - 7/10 Chicken Tikka Masala - 7/10 Gongura Shrimp Biryani - 9/10 Garlic Naan - 6/10 Both the veggie samosas and chicken tikka masalas were solid; not over-the-top but good. The samosas had some crunch and good filling. The chicken tikka was tender with good spice and seasoning. Garlic Naan was alright, texture-wise it's soft with good amount of seasonings. By itself, not bad. Dip in that masala, now it's to another level! Favorite was the Shrimp Biryani, by far. Shrimp is large, the rice and seasonings go well together and it's quite filling. And the portion is huge! Had leftovers for the next day and it still tasted awesome when microwaved. Price-wise, it's a bit expensive but that's with the doordash extra charges (why do I keep getting suckered by them). I look forward to checking out the restaurant and eating at the establishment where it's much better cooked-to-order than delivered to you.

This place surprised me. I ordered take out on a Saturday afternoon. I got the following Lollipop chicken byriani: the chicken was soft and tender. The rice was good and it came with yogurt. Hakka noodles: this was good too. I added hot sauce and the noodles were soft and flavorful. I got this with chicken. Dynamite cauliflower: this was very flavorful and really good.

Saag with goat, very tasty but beware of bones

Full disclosure, I've only had the Indian options here. The online ordering is really easy. Positives: DYNAMITE CAULIFLOWER. Seriously, I want to Scrooge McDuck in this sauce, it's downright scrumptious. It's their version of 65 but is a bit creamier. The saag is great (watch for bones with the goat), the chicken in the chicken tikka masala is incredibly tender (it's so often overcooked!), and their vegetable cilantro lemon soup is soul nourishing and very flavorful. Negatives: their naan is a bit overcooked, they don't provide chutney, their portions are a tad small, and the filling in their Monk's Special Momo (Tibetan/Nepalese dumplings) was dry. Negatives aside, their food is quite good and I'm eager to try out more of their menu, especially the Chinese options.

Chicken tikka masala is so good here. Gotta pair it with their garlic naan. I order take-out only from here and they're super quick.

Upon arriving, every table was taken except our table w a reserved sign on it. The restaurant was bustling, but I could still hear my husband over the music and noise. The menu is huge!!! I didn't know where to start. But our server, Vanessa, helped us make a few choices. We started off w bánh xèo tostadas, bánh béo, & carpaccio. Then we had calamari and their steak special. I asked for a side of papaya slaw for some veggies. My favorite dish of the night was the carpaccio. So many flavors perfectly melded together. Loved the crunch of the fried onions and peanuts. 10/10 dish, in my opinion. Authentic banh xèo usually has an airier, crisp crepe, but theirs was more crunchy - great for their tostada take. Very flavorful. Each piece had one shrimp, but plenty of pork belly bites. The nuoc mam drizzled on it was tasty. Fried calamari - this is a big dish for, I believe, $'19. I prefer the dipping sauce on the side so that the batter doesn't get soggy. This did happen here, but it didn't stop us from finishing every last bite. The green sauce was good, not the usual dipping sauce for fried calamari. Steak special - they have another steak dish on their menu, but this one was pepper crusted w smashed potatoes. The potatoes were super crispy and flavorful and the steak was perfectly cooked - a beautiful pink medium rare. The portion was huge and justified the $39 price point. The staple steak dish came with a papaya slaw and I had to have it. It was bright and limey - I can see why they serve it with their steak. Bánh beo - my least favorite of the night. A bit thicker than I like. Still good, but there were a lot of other great dishes that I could easily pass on this one. Try their hibiscus artichoke tea.

Try them, I love a good Asian style wing sauce and this hits the nail on the head with what I am looking for when I think of Asian style. No notes. Would order just these 9.3/10. Beef carpaccio is not something I would order again. I don't really care for carpaccio to be fair. 6/10. Shaken beef had great flavor, but it was less beef cubs and more big beef chunks. Flavor was excellent, but the beef should be in smaller bites. 7.7/10. The stuffed crab pocket was unlike anything I have ever tried. Great seafood taste in the inside, crispy shell. 8.7/10. The calamari squid dish was nice. Flavor was good. Fresh ingredients. 7.2/10. Drinks and services were really the standout here. Super friendly staff and fun Thai drinks. Cute location and seating. 9.6/10.

The food has been amazing every visit, and everyone I've brought here has loved it so much they've come back on their own. One thing I really appreciate is that every server, no matter who we have, always asks about food allergies. It's a thoughtful touch that helps ensure everyone can enjoy their meal without worry. The drinks are always delicious, and their Happy Hour menu is easily one of the best in the Heights. I also order the pull pork sliders which were great, and the queso with chips. The chips weren't the best to my liking. They were pretty thick and hard, verses the light and crispy what I prefer. I wish that the tiny tini could be frozen. The Lecci tini was the sweetest and really great. The $5 frozen martini's were okay. I wish the watermelon wasn't a spicy one or at least had the option to get it non spicy. Good thing I was allow to get it blended, with a non spicy. The chip that comes with the dip had a spicy on them as well. Theirs no option to get chips without spicy seasoning; it's all a mix, you just have to pick out the ones you want without spice. I would bring my son back to try their smash burger on the happy hour menu for $6.

We went with the brisket egg rolls, which were fresh and hot when we got them. Sauce was a good balance with them and I really liked this item. The cowboy katsu had great flavor, but needed more sauce since our bowl quickly turned into just bland white rice that got left behind. While I was standing there debating on ordering, the employee behind the counter was eating. I figured he'd stop once an order was placed. As I went to order kiosk, I saw him look up toward the front, then put his hand in his mouth to remove food while still in the kitchen/service area. That completely turned me off from ordering so I left. I didn't dare risk if he'd wash his hands because why would you do that to begin with. I understand people working long shifts need to eat, but in an open kitchen environment, presentation and sanitation matter. Unfortunately, that interaction alone was enough for me not to continue with my order.

They were pretty short-staffed when I arrived - I noticed quite a few patrons lining up before a staff member helped them get their seats. We had a bit of a wait as well. The restaurant looked the same - spacious with a variety of seating options and a cute bar in the corner. Once we were seated we were excited to order! We opted to share a few items: the savory scallion waffle, the shrimp toast, and the Vietnamese beef dip. The waffle was as delicious as I remembered - the savory butter paired SO well and is such a unique taste! The shrimp toast came out next - I loved how crunchy it was and how cleanly they baked the shrimp into the toast! The candied nuts were such a nice pairing. And lastly, the beef dip. I was surprised to see a sandwich (I'm not sure what exactly I was expecting after reading the description) but I truly enjoyed the thin slices of the beef, and dipping it in the sauce was divine. The bread just soaked it up and it was so flavorful! We wanted to get dessert before we ordered, but were glad we held off after the sheer volume of food! I was pretty stuffed and still took a shrimp toast to go. All in all another delicious meal here! I'd love to come back and try more of their menu next time.
