They quoted me a price that was very low to redo the ENTIRE roof after the recent winds damaged it (the least expensive of all the quotes I got). I was afraid it was a bait and switch but on the contrary they did what they said they would do without a penny more. Finished the work quickly, cleaned up after themselves and I feel really blessed about the whole experience with Reliable Roofing. Sean, his manager Mike and Steve that helped with the paperwork and payments were all friendly, and helpful. I never felt for one moment I was bothering them when I called with my paranoid questions. Pros The roofers did a good job replacing the underlayment and retiling the entire roof Cons Customer service was not good with communication and informing us of status on the job and what days the workers were coming out. We would wake up at 8am to banging on the roof that is how we found out when the workers were coming. Roofers did not clean up well. We had to clean up food, water bottles, nails and debri every-time they finish work on the roof for the day Roofers in nailing in roof created holes in the interior walls of the home and chipped wall around our skylight in our roof, however they did plaster the chips and holes, but we will have to paint it ourselves. They did not find the exact color matching tile so my roof is now two different colors Management will gouge pricing then renegotiate lower pricing and will state if you are a return customer you will get a discount however when trying to use them again to be honored that return customer discount, they priced me well over competitors for the same work, so no discount was provided I would give them a "C" for lack of customer service and pricing, however the roof work outside of the tiles not matching was good. read more

This review is based upon the first and initial phone encounter with these guys. Once they have your number, they will robo call you incessantly every 4 hours indefinitely, no voice message, they do not get the picture. It's to the liking of telemarketers and the only way to stop the robo calls is to mark their number as spam. I would say the last time I've felt this way is at a car stealership. In this case, it's a roof stealership. Based upon these sales and marketing tactics, I will not be hiring these guys as they will use the same method of harassment to coerce you into doing something you do not want to. I took my words back - My roof was never fixed by them and kept leaking for three years in a row. Their strategy is to come to work on your roof after the raining season and ask you to write good reviews on yelp. Then when it comes to the next raining season the roof is still broken. See the following timeline and photos so you all know they should really be called UNRELIABLE ROOF! 12/21/19 - we signed a $15,000 contract with them to install a new roof. 1/31/20 - initial work completed, payment was made. 4/25/20 - they reached out asking me to leave a review and I did. 1/5/21 - First real test when it was raining - we realized they didn't fix my roof (saw photos below). They sent someone over and claim it was a mistake which they fixed. 12/28/21 - my roof was leaking again and they came over the second time. If you want quality work done within a reasonable amount of time, without having to micromanage, I suggest you take your business elsewhere. This company isn't worth the stress. They don't care about the customers after they lock you in a contract. I have been working with Harry the project manager to fix my roof and it has been a nightmare. When I first agreed to have the work done I was told the project would take 7-10 days. "We have the man power" Well, we are going into week four and the project still isn't complete. I've been having to call constantly to get someone to come out and do the work. I was given an array of excuses as to why the guys weren't showing up. From, "they are working on other projects" to "the guys couldn't be there because someone was having a baby." When I called the main office manager to get answers, I was told that the workers were at my house but I was standing at home and there was no one there. Nothing but lies. The workers were negligent and left a bunch of loose nails all over my driveway. But the worst part about it all is the pile of trash they left in front of my house for weeks now. They sent a couple friendly younger guys out to give a quote on our roof repair; following the general inspection, they proceeded to stay for an extra hour and a half, going through their workmanship presentation & guarantees. Sounds ok so far, right? Well, when it came time for the quote, theirs was over 18k over the next highest quote I had gotten a week earlier. Keep in mind that lower quote involved the same warranty and materials, so it's an apples to apples comparison. I asked for some time to think about it, and immediately the hard selling tactics began. One phone call later, and magically my quote was down 10k but I had to commit RIGHT NOW, or the deal was gone forever. When I still said I wanted to think about and look into various financing options and get some additional quotes, I began to receive phone calls, several times a day, asking if I was ready to commit to the quote they had given me. Finally I told them the lowest quote I had gotten, and again, magically, they were able to beat the previously quoted price by another 6k because they "found some extra plywood in the back of the warehouse". But again, they needed me to commit that moment, right on the phone, even after I told them I needed a day to think about it. They continued to hard sell. Finally, I told them I was not interested. This type of salesmanship is unethical and immoral; I feel bad for the elderly who are getting fleeced out of their retirement by engaging with these crooks. Shop around, get multiple quotes and steer clear of these guys. If anyone tries to pressure you before you've had time to do your own basic research, don't give in. Nothing but 5 stars! From beginning to end, this was one of the easiest projects that I've had done to my home. Kabo and his crew were always on time and very professional. They paid close attention to detail... I have a pool in my backyard and they took the time to tarp over it even though I had a pool cover on it. They cleaned up every day when they left and I never worried about nails or anything left in my yard. I never felt like I was going at this alone. If I had questions or concerns, day or night, Kabo was right there to answer everything. The roof came out better than I could've ever imagined! We had a small roof leak. I received quotes from 7 or 8 other companies ranging from $2,800 to $5,000. These guys were 3 to 5 times over that! When I first called, it was important that my wife be home. High-pressure sales tactic even before they arrived on the scene! That should have been my first clue. These guys didn't even go on the roof to look at it. In all fairness, it was raining. Nevertheless, based on their so-called observations from the ground, they came up with the following: $3,000 to tarp my roof to temporarily protect it during the rain. Presumably, the tarp is reusable and they would get it back in a week or two. $13K to patch the roof in various places in addition to the one roof leak (not sure how they assessed that from the ground) $20K for a new roof, even though the other companies said that was not necessary. AGAIN-- THEY DID NOT GO ON THE ROOF TO ASSESS IT! On the bright side: If I decided to go with the $13K repair or the $20K repair, they would credit back the $3K for the tarp! I was very happy with Reliable Roof's customer service and quality of work. Our Project Manager, Sunny, was very responsive, courteous and informative. Once we agreed of what needed to be done (roof replacement, attic cleanup and sterilization, insulation, and gutter replacement), Sunny gave us a schedule that we agreed on and it went like clock work. The project started on a Tuesday morning at 8:00am and the attic cleanup, insulation installation, and roof replacement were all completed by 5pm, Friday... just in time before the weekend rain. The only thing is that our gutters were not installed until the following Monday. But overall we are very happy with our new roof, clean attic with new insulation and new gutters!!! Also, Sunny brought us an assortment of sweet surprises from Krispy Kreme on the first morning of the project!!! Very professional and caring towards the customer!!! read more

**DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME** From the very beginning this company gave us a very weird - very intrusive vibe. My husband called, they asked very personal questions - ex : is your wife going to be there? What is her name? How many kids do you have? We want to talk to both home owners, your wife will be there too right? - like over and over. They called back saying their 6pm appt canceled so they could come to do an assessment & give us a quote. Once again, asked if I (wife) was going to be home and If we had an uninterrupted 45-60 mins we could give them to listen. (My husband could.... so sure let's have them come) 6....6:15.....6:30..... ahhhh 6:45 they show up, almost knock our trash cans over and hit the curb. Super weird. But ok. Let's just get this show on the road. They are outside w my husband. They go on the roof, they do their assessment & then they ask to come inside to access the attic. This is our 3rd quote, no one had asked this yet. Bizarre. We have 2 little kids. So we just went into a room and waited. They went back outside. The boss on the phone still pushed the 'let me ask you something' my husband said "you are really not understanding me. it's time to go." They left. FINALLY. 30 mins later, a phone call - from the "boss" - his name is Eddie. They go back and forth on the phone for a few mins. Needless to say, we will NOT be using this company, we will NOT recommend this company & we are hoping that everyone that is interested in getting their roof done, reads this review and understands that I didn't go through all of this just to be petty. What stopped me from writing this review on my 1st interaction with this company was the fact that I didn't want to get this guy in trouble and I didn't want to shed bad light on a company during these challenging times. I've changed my mind because of the the 2nd interaction with the same guy. I have a small leak. I found this company through Angie's List. I received a call back from a gentleman that was friendly during the initial hello, but then the conversation took a turn. I provided my address, I assume the guy Googled it to see my roof. He complimented my home then said, " I wish I had a balcony off my bedroom". I chuckled to be nice but-REALLY GUY!? He made a few more inappropriate comments then had the audacity to tell me not to tell my spouse that he was flirting, he was being friendly. During the beginning of this year's rain storms, our roof started leaking, with the water exiting right over our bed. The roof is covered by "antique" clay tiles (the house was built in 1920) and solar panels. The first roofing company I called clearly did not want to deal with panels (saying "leaks are always around the panel brackets" and refusing to inspect further, even after I explained that a thorough examination had already ruled out the panels as the problem). Fortunately, I was then referred to Reliable Roofing. They also conducted a thorough inspection, crawling up into our very shallow attic space and showing me, through photos, that the water was coming in at the roof ridgeline, well above the solar panels. Due to interruption by further rain storms it took them a couple of weeks to complete the repair and replacement (of about 750 feet of roof), but we suffered not a single leak during this period due to the quality of their temporary waterproofing measures. The work was completed to our complete satisfaction and was immediately tested by the "atmospheric river" that dumped a season's worth of rain on the roof in four days. Again, no leaks. I found Reliable's representative Greg very knowledgeable, cooperative and responsible. They've earned their company's name. I heartily recommend the company. read more

A California Roofing Company taking advantage and price gouging Texans during the 2021 winter storm. I was needing a plumber to fix a frozen pipe in Houston. I went on the Home Advisor (HA) App as I've done in the past for services. Only difference this time I have Home Advisor calling me and recommending Reliable Roofing & Retrofit. Odd, as-if Reliable Roofing had paid HA for such promotion. Reliable Roofing came down and estimated $4400 to fix ONE pipe in the bathroom wall. I was shocked because it was 10x what others estimated. I ended up paying $425 by a "reliable" and honest local company. I asked the Reliable Roofing rep who came to estimate the work if they had plumbers and if they did bathroom remodeling and he said YES yet that service is NOT offered on their web page. Obvious they get sub-contractors to do the work. They were out to be opportunists during a crisis in Texas. Not what we do here in Texas. $4400 to do ONE pipe repair by Reliable Roofing & Retrofit that took 2 hrs to fix by 2 plumbers from an honest company for $425. Let that sink in, if you want to use Reliable Roofing & Retrofit for any work and trust them to pay 10x more. Not very "Reliable" read more

Our meeting with Reliable Roofing began with a friendly individual taking the roof measurements and then discussing the company and the proposal. The meeting ended with us feeling like we were being scammed. After a lengthy sales pitch, we were presented a very high number on a piece of paper. We swallowed hard at the amount, at which point he offered to call his boss (with the speaker on so we could hear) to see if there were promotions to bring the price down. The man on the phone said he was unable to offer any discounts. Then, magically, he remembered that they just started a job a few blocks from us and that he could save us a lot of money if we could piggyback off this other project, but we had to sign the contract and write a deposit check for $1,000 right there and begin demo the next day. The new price offered was almost cut in half. We were still hesitant so then the rep offered, in his words, "free money" (which was financing with no interest for 18 months, goodness knows at what rate). This individual continued with dialogue that he was "on our side" (trying to get us the best possible price). At this point, we were very nervous, and let him know that we needed to do our due diligence and continue getting bids. He called the next day to say he was in the neighborhood with his boss and would like to stop by for 10 minutes. We said no. Company us called a few days after that, but I cut call short since we already did not trust them. Since this experience, I have done some research and found more than one review of this company that describes virtually the same process: the high number, the phone call to the boss and the resulting offer to cut price if you sign right now. This is a high-pressure tactic to lock you in. I have no idea what the quality of their work might be, but the entire meeting presentation was a scripted and dishonest set-up from the start. I now have three other bids and they are all a lower price and the companies feel more reputable. read more

They sent Berg to come look at the roof and he did a nice job walking me through all the issues with the roof and explained that my solar panels shouldn't have been installed on my roof because of the condition of the "entire roof" . I contacted them a few days later and explained that I would need something in writing explaining what issues they found on the roof and why the solar panels should have never been installed to begin with. I needed this so I wouldn't get charged another fee from the solar panel company (the panels were just installed in Feb), to take the panels back off and then reinstalled after the roof was replaced. Thats where things get a little funky. They completely refused to put what they said in writing. Why? If you stand by your claims then it shouldn't be a problem to put it in writing.
