Fries- tallow fries delicious fresh cut potato- I prefer crispier but still delicious well seasoned Fruit punch - only down side some herb in there that made it taste like cough syrup- not for me Strawberry shake- delicious real strawberry so the flavor was subtle but legit! Burger and shake joint run by a farm. Located in Vantage right by the west end of the I-90 bridge that crosses the Columbia River. Big sign and decent amount of parking. The space is circular with seating near the window and around the center column, with some outside seating on the southeast side facing the bridge and the river. Bright white colored interior. Busy during weekend lunch time, but managed to get one of the small high tables. Order at the counter, and they give you a number. Pretty small menu, mainly a burger, double burger, tallow fries, cheese curds, milkshakes and other soda/drinks. In addition to these, they also sell a little bit of fruit and veggies, plus cuts of beef which you can pay a small charge for them to grill. I got a single ranch burger with fries, and a strawberry milkshake. $20ish in total, so priced like a fast casual place like Shake Shack. Both were brought out pretty quickly. The burger has a smashed patty. Nothing to complain about. Buns were good, ingredients tasted fresh and not overly saucy or greasy. Patty has the nice crisp on the edge and not dry. Overall a good smash burger. The tallow fries were decent didn't taste any different than regular fries. I do like the orange fry sauce they have which you can try, and they also ketchup as well. The strawberry milkshake was good. Consistency is medium, not too solid or sunny, and has bits of strawberry inside. Overall, a nice place to stop for some quick bites while traveling the I-90 in Central Washington. read more

Very good! Reasonable prices! It's just cheeseburgers or grilled cheese. Fries as well. They cook in beef tallow so no seed oils which is awesome! Side note, the service is very fast! The bathrooms are super clean! They will lettuce wrap your burger. No fountain sodas but you can get a can from Seattle soda company for about $2.79. Water is free and easy to access. Ketchup and fry sauce available as well. They do not have ranch. I can't wait to return. read more

Driving back to Seattle from Idaho I stopped by here for me and my boys. Cute spot. Smaller side inside but still plenty of seating. The restaurant and bathroom was kept very clean. Menu is limited with burgers, grilled cheese, steak, and fries. It's just what we wanted. The burgers patties were like smash burgers. It was on the thinner side but that was fine with me! I would opt for a double if you want more of a regular size patty. Lettuce and tomatoes were super fresh. Onions were tasty, slightly overfilled though. Fries were fried in beef tallow were sooo good. Had a lot of flavor! I did get a lemonade which was good but nothing special. Smoking hot or ice cold? I have been twice in the past week. The place is adorable. Cute interior, warm and welcoming. The first visit, I had the most delicious single patty burger. Literally mouth-watering and so fresh and hot. Excellent flavors. The meat perfectly smashed with some crispy bits on the patty. Absolutely delicious. The second visit- which was yesterday- we ordered our food, grabbed napkins and found a seat and were IMMEDIATELY served our burgers. We were both very surprised they could have been cooked freshly that quickly. Like- impossibly fast. We bite into the burgers, not hot. And absolutely no flavor on the meat. None. To be honest- no flavor at all on the burger. I was immediately disappointed as I had talked the place up and we went out of our way to go there. I also got a strawberry shake. It tasted fine. Very thick. Fries BOTH visits needed salt. Badly. (Worth noting 30-40 minutes after we left we had to pull over on our way up the Pass so I could violently throw up the entirety of the milkshake and burger. I think there was something up with the strawberry shake. I have never had an experience like that. I was completely better within three hours so it was definitely the food.) Have heard and read so many great things about the burgers here, so we had to drive out there and try it for ourselves. The service was great. Friendly and welcoming. Within roughly 4 minutes of sitting down our burgers and fries arrived. I was surprised how fast the food came out. Was a little skeptical whether I got a freshly made burger or if it had been cooked prior to ordering and then reheated on the grill. The toppings were fresh and flavorful. The burger was crispy around the edges but could have used more seasoning. It also just didn't have that "hot off the grill" feeling. The fries were under seasoned (if seasoned at all) but I guess that is why there are salt and pepper packets. The fry sauce is fantastic. I had a vanilla shake and it was thick and flavorful. I've stopped here a couple of times right after they opened and thought it was really good. I stopped again yesterday and came away wanting better. The burger, a smash burger, was crunchy on the edges and overall the burger was pretty flavorless. I guess I don't remember them being smash burgers in the beginning. Fries are good. On another note, the place continues to be clean and friendly and the view is great. As for the burgers, I may not stop again. My experience is that the smash burger fad, which I hope it is, doesn't provide a nice, juicy burger like I'm looking for. read more

5 stars all day and the day after. Stopped through while exploring. It had been 20 years since my previous stop for a burger here. Back then it was quite a different place and greasy spoon was definitely an appropriate term for that. Glad to see this fresh new place here. We got 3 burgers and shakes. I was blown away by the quality here. The bun was some home made affair that was delicious. The beef patties were fantastic. The fixings were excellent. The fries were almost as good as the burger. The shakes were simply durn good. This restaurant is staffed by young people from Royal City and they are doing a great job. I recommend stopping here each time you pass through Vantage. I would skip Moses Lake and Ellensburg and just stop here. Nothing to regret. read more

Have been driving by this building off and on for 20+ years of my life as we've driven across the state. I've had a couple bleh meals over the years at the other restaurants in the space. Never intended to visit this building again. Extremely impressed with the latest restaurant iteration to occupy the space, though. Drove significantly out of the way to try it. The Ranch is all that they advertise themselves as and more. Farm-to-table. (Literally their farm. Your table.) Food was fresh, well-priced, and delicious. Place was packed on the two separate instances we went. Consistently delicious on both occasions a week apart from each other. Young, high school kids working the counter and grills. Refreshing to see. Kids, families, and travelers, alike, all there for great food. Burgers look great and are really fairly priced. Haven't had the chance to try them yet, but looking forward to doing so on my next drive by. Beef tallow fries and the fry sauce are 10/10. Rib-eye was good and tasted as if it was a slab of beef cut off a cow and cooked up by a rancher. Tasted a little like a burger grill and was overcooked for the rare I ordered (more like medium or medium-well). 6-7/10. That was consistently the same when I came back a week later with a coworker and they ordered that. That next time in, got the filet also rare. Came out more medium. Tasted like a significantly better steak. I didn't mind the overcooking. 8/10. Not a steakhouse, but kids cooking up burgers (and ranch-fresh steaks) on a flat-top. As long as that's your expectation, hard to beat the place at the price. Probs won't find a better mid-way spot off I-90 between the two sides of the state. Really enjoyable. Great little spot at Vantage! Love the smash burgers and that the fries are fried in tallow, not seed oils. They also have various cuts of meat that can be cooked to order or taken home. It is a small and increasingly popular spot so there may be a wait to order, but they do have an online order option if you want to order on your way to the restaurant. The prices are quite reasonable. For the same price as a combo at most fast food joints these days, you can get a much higher quality meal. The circular building has windows all around the dining area so you can enjoy the view of the Columbia River or take your order to go and enjoy it at one of the many state or county parks nearby. read more
