Ordered two burger meals. Waited. Waited. By that time three other groups who ordered behind us had their food. Finally I asked the employee who was less than concerned. She looked at the pass through window from the kitchen to the counter and saw our two meals which had been sitting there for over 10 min. She handed them to us and mumbled, "Here." Both meals were cold. No apology. No offer to at least recook the fries. No offer to give us our money back. The cashier was sweet and knowledgeable of their food ingredients. They have burgers, hot dogs, hot/cold sandwiches, ice cream and milkshakes. You can make your burger a meal for five dollars more or order a side of fries. If you like old diner fries order a side instead of a meal and get a small drink. Pretty freaking bad. Staff is friendly, but the service is not what it used to be. Drive thru service takes an eternity. They start your food and then you wait. A lot of the time you get it either leukwarm (when it should be hot) or melting (when it should be frozen). For a little town in the middle of the state, DK's delivers great food and great service at a reasonable price. This is the third time I've popped in over the years, and I'm happy that they're consistently good. Located at the east side of town, there's plenty of parking for many vehicles including RV's, rigs with trailers, or a large group of hungry bikers. As of today (6/1/21) they're still asking customers to wear masks, but not mandating it, and they're still set up for limited seating. There're certainly many little burger joints along remote highways in every state, but few deliver big on great taste like DK's. read more

The food is good. I have gotten the mushroom burger and the double cheese burger with fries. However, is you order online in advance your order isn't always ready when the online system says it will be ready. There has been a few occasions when we have waited 15 to 20 mins after our "ready" time to get our order. We also consistently do not get all the sauces we pay extra for. I would say that over the past few years we are owed $30 in sauces we never received. They do have a lot of high school aged employees who likely are working their first job so that's why we haven't made a big fuss over these issues. read more

We stopped in to eat and sat at a table and we were told we needed to move as the section was closed because it was clean. There were 2 tables in the section that had people at them. Also while we were there a group of 12 people came in and were told they had to sit at 3 separate tables in stead of at a bigger table. This is just plane and simple poor customer service. We're all about dipping sauces for our sides and both ordered the tarter sauce which was very confusing. Although tasty on my fish sandwich, when tried alone it's red, zesty and nothing like a proper tarter sauce. Almost like a southwestern something or another but without the zip. This place is the best place to eat in Ephrata and surrounding area. This was my first job, but before working there I was addicted to this place and it's food. The burgers in this place are absolutely wonderful. The "Mother Burger" is their crown jewel. This is the beat burger I've ever eaten and when ever I come home I have to get one of these. The onion rings, fries, tater rounds are so damn good. The beer battered and old fashioned onion rings are so damn good I can't put it into words how delicious they are. The fries are cooked to order and always comes to you nice and hot. The tater rounds are my favorite and are just perfect with any burger you buy. The sandwiches on their homemade bread are EXCELLENT!!! The fish and chips are my dads favorite and is one damn good meal with the fish, fries, Texas toast and......the tarter sauce. The tarter sauce is the best thing from DK's in my opinion. This goes good with any of the burgers as an extra sauce, great to dip the onion rings, fries and tater rounds in and the best with the fish and chips. This sauce is not like your typical tarter sauce and they are actually no words to explain the taste. When I cone back home I have to bring a few back down to Oregon with me....THE BEST!!! And all this great food is made to order so it is hot and fresh. You might need to wait a bit for your food, but it is so worth it.
