Placed a curbside order for myself and kids. I have to be gluten free. I ordered my burger with the GF bun along with sweet potato fries. I got a call after I was there to say they were out of sweet potato fries and the gal immediately suggested the tater tots. I specifically asked her if there was any breading or flour on or in them and I explained to her I have to be gluten free. She responded quickly and said "no. But there is cheese in them". Ok fine. Yeah I ate one (slightly distracted because we are eating on the road). These are NOT gF. When I was able to pull over I checked their gluten free menu. These are definitely not listed. Also I asked for pink in my burger-it was cooked well done. The kids milkshakes were room temp and thin like chocolate milk. Educate your staff!!!!!!!! Food allergies should be taken seriously. A whole lot of amazing packed into a small space! The freshness and quality of meat & seafood is unmatched! Their seafood is delivered daily. The variety of accompaniments available in the store are also carefully selected and the highest of quality. We love grabbing a container of truffle butter for our steaks! If you love charcuterie, you'll find great items for that as well. The only drawback I can share is that it's a small space that draws a crowd. It's usually busy. Awesome kids menu This location is attached to the mall and an easy walk from the entrance. Menu had a selection of burgers and sandwiches. Lots of side options to choose from. Avoid this place. It's not good. Well I am sitting here at The Rail and wondering if this review will go up or down. So far I've had to remind my server to bring my beer (drinks should get served first), I've waited over 30 minutes for a burger. And when the burger came it was not done the way it is stated on the menu. It's a Local Yokel burger with bacon, Swiss and an easy over egg. The egg came well done not easy over. So I took it back. I'm looking at both seats in my banquette and the backs are ripped. So while the place looks generally clean, I wonder how much care is being given as well. So far I'm not very happy that I chose this place. Ok. So an update - I got the burger. Looked like it was just haphazardly made. Egg was fine this time but cheese was half off the burger. Burger was OK but not stellar. I can get a burger like this nearly anywhere. The meat is not really seasoned. Frankly the Royal Burger at Red Robin is much better. Also my fries were hot the first time the burger came out but they have sent me back the same fries with the correct burger as they were cold by the time I ate them. I complained to the manager and got a discount off my burger. That's nice but there's still nothing that makes me want to come back here. I don't care if the owners have one of the top rated steakhouses in the country. This place doesn't live up to that. OK. This place had a three star review. Dropping to one star. This place is dishonest. If you get any side other than regular fries or salad they charge you an extra amount. However, all sides - regular fries, sweet potato fries and salads are all $5 on the menu. But order something other than normal fries or salad and you pay more. This is dishonest and a rip off. The menu does not indicate that there is a charge for anything other than normal fries or a normal salad. If they want to charge more that is fine but the menu should say so. It doesn't and that's misleading to customers. This dropped the review to one star. Again - don't go to this place. There are better burgers out there. read more

First time being here and was very impressed. Definitely the best "burger joint" that we have found here in Ohio. They have lots of Ohio beers/liquors. They also have kind of an open kitchen so you can hear and see the cooks. Our waitress was incredibly helpful on tips and tricks for the menu. I got the Hidden Bacon Wonton Burger and it was fabulous. Cooked to a perfect medium rare. My wife got the 4 cheese Mac with bacon and it was very creamy and delicious. Our extended family had an early Sunday dinner here before heading to an event at Blossom. Everything was great. We were seated immediately and our server, Emily, was friendly and attentive - even taking her time to reassure my concerns regarding food sensitivities. Among the group, we tried the Local Yokel Burger, the Buffalo Chicken Salad, the White Cheddar Mac, and several chicken sandwiches, both grilled and crispy (the latter my teenage son even declared the best sandwich he'd ever had). Everything was delicious and the service was prompt. I also truly appreciated the availability of a gluten free menu online and the addition of mocktails to the drink menu (the raspberry mint mule was wonderful). I've had the opportunity to eat here twice and have never been disappointed. Not a bad location, good service (almost overzealous at times), and a price matching the food quality. The first time I came in I had a burger, a beer, and some of those dope gouda mac and cheese bites. The most recent visit I ordered their restaurant week special - a three-course arrangement that included full size app, main course, and dessert (a buckeye pie for me, thank you). The buffalo chicken dip is delish, and arguably a meal within itself. While they do have quite the extensive drink menu on its own, I opted for a Rail bourbon on the rocks that they say is made in conjunction with Western Reserve Distillery. And yeah, I barely got out of here under $50. The atmosphere and vibe of the place works well with their branding. It's really the first place I found in the area that feels more like the restaurants I'm used to back home. Also worth noting is their location by Summit Mall. Plenty to do either while you wait for a table or after your meal. read more

Ordered 2 burgers and after 30 minutes still hadn't received food. People who sat and ordered at least 15 minutes after us got their food (also 2 burgers) before we did. The tater tot appetizer was really good and the Mac and cheese balls were not that great and wouldn't order that again. The spicy chicken sandwich was good but not very spicy and the skinny fries somehow were a little cold and not crispy at all. My dad loves the milkshake there and my mom liked Her salad. Somehow a server, food runner and manager asked us how we were but they couldn't take the dishes we stacked right in front of them. All in all it was a 3.5/5 stars and I was not really impressed. The Rail sent out emails regarding Happy Hour 2pm to 4pm daily including weekends. On their menu they have five dollar burger and fries, five dollars for two cans of platform basic and 50% off bottles of wine. The food was delicious as due to the environment I haven't been there for a while. I picked up cheese burgers, fries, onion rings and two shakes one chocolate and one vanilla. I like the rail because everything is sourced locally ,even the beer. The reason I only gave three stars is because they are not staffed to handle the Happy Hour rush for food. It's not a staff issue as they were doing their best but it is a management issue. They foyer is not set up to pick up food and safely socially distance from others. I would suggest doing what others have done- have people stay in cars and call when they arrive. Someone could run the food out. Unfortunately I won't be back unless they can fix the pick up situation. read more

We had the opportunity to eat at " The Rail " in Fairlawn. Right off the bat, we were greeted with a very kind and warm welcoming, not just by the serving staff but there AGM Heather and the service Manager Dan. Since Covid was still into affect strongly, the Restaurant was still recognized as a clean and healthy atmosphere. It was good to see employees wearing mask in consideration for the patrons safety as well as their own. Our food was absolutely delicious. The staff was very professional and friendly and attentive to our wants and needs. Its been a longtime since I have been somewhere to eat where we felt comfortable and able to enjoy ourselves. I've had good experiences at other locations, but this place isn't great. Went on a weekday for lunch and service was slow. There were maybe 5 tables in the already tiny restaurant and it took 45+ to get 2 burgers. The food was good after all of that, but... Both my friend and myself got horribly sick about 36 hours after eating there with food poisoning. After determining it was our food at The Rail, I'll never eat here again. Sucks because the food is normally good, but the Summit Mall location is too sketchy for me now after getting so so sick. I've reported this to the Dept of Health and am waiting response. read more

If you are looking for an amazing burger place that also has great apps, quick service, and decent prices, the Rail is the place for you! The actual seating area is small, but nice, so expect a wait. However the food comes out fairly quickly so the wait won't be too long. The staff is friendly, and the food is fantastic! What we tried: Apps- Smoked Gouda Mac & Cheese Bites: Crisp on the outside, smoky and cheesy on the inside! The smoky flavor is just enough without being overpowering. We actually ordered a second round of these after we blew through the first. They come with a buffalo ranch dipping sauce. Pulled Pork Nachos: A mound of chips covered in queso, piled high with succulent pulled pork. Very tasty. Buffalo Chicken Dip: A wonderful mixture of buffalo sauce, chicken, and cheese. Served with tortilla chips. Big pieces of chicken make this not very spicy, so even the anti-spicy crew can enjoy. Ohio Pork Belly Bites: Best thing we tried!! Thick cut pieces of pork belly with a crunchy skin, crisp bite, and an inside that literally melts in your mouth! Entree- Crouching Burger (Hidden Bacon): Crispy, crunchy bacon on top of juicy, fairly thick burger patty, piled with tender pulled pork, slathered in a bourbon bbq sauce, and served on a thick bun that hold all the juices together! I want to preface this review by mentioning that the entire front-of-house was awesome. They were nice, attentive, and great all around. I came here with two friends for lunch last weekend and while their dishes were without issue, mine was the exact opposite. I did the build-your-own burger with brussels sprouts and a side salad. However, my side salad never came, and when the burger came out all of the toppings I ordered were missing. It also looked as if everything had just been thrown on the plate as the sprouts were all over the place and literally falling off. When I brought up the missing items to the server, I asked to just not be charged for the toppings as I didn't want to send the burger back. Eventually, she did bring out the salad and said it'd be on-the-house since it'd been forgotten. I thought that was the end of the story. But, after paying and heading home, it dawned on me that my bill was a bit steep considering. Well, it turns out they still charged me for the salad and all of the toppings I never even received. I'm not sure if the restaurant is understaffed or anything, or if this is just the normal quality of output. Either way, the whole situation left a bad taste in my mouth. Paying for things you didn't even get is quite frustrating. I might come here again. But, it's unlikely given the number of other eateries in the area. read more

I could almost copy and paste my recent Shake Shack review, ok never mind, I will use some of it :) "Yes I'm a fan, If you're a red blooded American that likes staying pudgy, you'll be happy you came here! Milk Shakes, fries, burgers and beer, yes please!!" -Ok, not used on Shake Shack, you get a little less milk shake and pay more for it, but it IS better! then the burger, yes it too is a better burger! Only complaint was the dipping sauce for the chips, I'm ALL about sauces on anything, but that stuff sucked! We'll still be back, I love the Rail and this time I split a burger with my wife, so enjoyed saving a few bucks and saving calories for a "Shake!" It had been a while since we had eaten at the Rail due to slow service. I decided to give it a go tonight and was further disappointed enough to write a review and never to return after attempting to share my concerns with the staff. The manager stated he was color blind and could not tell me the cooked temperature. When I noted that it lacked flavor, he brought more sauce. The quinoa salad lacked flavor, and received more dressing. My Son's burger was missing the egg it was to have. We never received napkins or attention from our bartender throughout. Another bartender, bussing our plates, asked how our meal was and attempted service recovery. Such a disappointment! read more
