We decide to try this restaurant out this weekend. The atmosphere is really nice, inside and out. They have a complimentary boat ride when you dine there which is super cool, about a 20 minute ride around the quarry. The loss of a star was due to them being out of a few menu items (impossible burger and crab cakes). The side salads also came out warm. They have a lot of Vegetarian option also the impossible burgers vegan when in stock. My boyfriend had the jackfruit quesadilla and absolutely loved it. I had the smash burger, it had good flavors, it was kind of messy though. Everyone else enjoyed their meal and the atmosphere and will definitely be back! read more

I saw the 3 star rating but decided to give it a try anyway. That was an unfortunate and costly mistake. Super disappointed. Had a pickup order. Was ignored for several minutes once I arrived. The bartender was nice but busy so i was not prioritized. I just needed to pay but couldn't get someone to take my payment. Now onto the food. I ordered the strawberry salad with chicken. They barely gave me any lettuce and the lettuce that was in there was wilted. There were 4 little slices of strawberry. Like they cut up 1 strawberry and spread it around. The chicken was dry and flavorless. My mom had the lobster roll sliders. Food was cold/room temperature at best. Had no flavor. We spent almost $60 for 3 meals and will NEVER be going back there again. Pass on this place. read more

This was our second attempt and I've decided the best thing about The Quarry is that it's only a good place to get a nice picture of my sweet wife with water in the background. As far as the food is concerned forget it! We stopped there today for a quick lunch and a chance to try the place again. The first time we tried was a few years ago soon after it opened. We left there disappointed by a seedy crowd it seemed to attract. This time we left disappointed by the menu and the quality of the food. I was looking for a fish sandwich, something that shouldn't be too high of an expectation from a restaurant that features a lakeside dining experience and only a couple of miles from Lake Erie where there's an abundance of perch and walleye. Not one fish sandwich of any kind on the menu except fish tacos! So I opted for a pork bbq sandwich but the waitress messed that up by not changing my cheese choice to pepper jack. And the chef needs to add a lot more bbq sauce to make it a bbq sandwich. Rather than a new sandwich with melted pepper jack cheese my waitress did hand me a slice of just-out-of-the-fridge slice of jack that I ended up nibbling on as a snack. Then there was the sandwich bun selection they offer with their sandwiches. They are horrible and both of our sandwiches quickly fell apart once they reached our table. One positive....my wife's pot roast beef sandwich had nice flavor. But yet another disappointment: tater tots as a side to our sandwiches! Come on, guys! We're paying close to $15 for each sandwich. Do you honestly think your guests are going to enjoy store bought greasy honest-to-goodness real out-of-freezer "tater tots" like my my mom served 50 years ago??? I figured for sure the "tater tot" mention on the menu was just a play on words for some real life freshly peeled potatoes of some kind! No way! Turned out to be just what I didn't want...greasy not-really-potato taters! By the time we added gratuity we ended up spending about $40. Shame on us!! Food is fabulous. But they don't take reservations seriously. We reserved a table for 15. They put us outside on one of the hottest days WITHOUT TELLING US WHEN WE BOOKED THAT THE INSIDE SEATING WAS RESERVED FOR A PRIVATE PARTY!! Out of the 15 seats, 3 had a little shade. One of the better options to eat locally just watch out we got dinner per usual here back before the menu swap and received moldy slider buns. Our second time here, terrible service. We arrived at. 515pm and had to ask for service at 529pm, we watched 4 tables get seated next to us with drinks already. Staff seemed annoyed, especially our server ( I don't even know her know, because she never introduced herself). Half of our food arrives, and I found a piece of hair in my lobster and Bri dip. Well I have heard both positive and negative reviews so decided to try it out with a friend. My friend got the barbecue chicken salad and they said it was overpowered by the barbecue sauce to the point they could only eat a little. I got a medium burger it was nothing to write home about. I also got a side of coleslaw for 3.00, tiny bowl, it was super dry and no taste. For my burger, slaw and a beer it was 25.00. I might go back in the summer because it is a beautiful place and sit outside by the quarry for maybe a beer with friends. read more

We have been wanting to try the Quarry for some time now. The idea of dining outside on the water was very alluring. The temperature was a lot cooler than the 90's it has been lately, so we decided it was time. We arrived around six pm and where greater by a hosted who seemed a little reluctant to seat us outside. The interior of the bar is really cute. Way nicer than the website would have you believe. We tried the shrimp tacos. They where the tastiest thing we had and also the smallest, $12 for 3 tiny tacos. We tried the perch dinner and the jerk chicken. The perch was ok and the portion size was good, slightly bland coating. The jerk chicken was good but didn't taste like jerk not spicy at all. read more

My husband and I have lived in Monroe for years and never made it out to try The Quarry until tonight and our server, I believe her name was Presley, was amazing. She checked in with us several times, but not to the point where it was annoying, she was up front with us about wait times, she had a smile on her face the entire night even though it was really hectic, and overall, she made out experience. The food was great, but good service really bumps a restaurant up and she was great. She even checked in with us after her obligation as our server was met and our bill was paid while we were just checking out the views outside. Best server I have ever had! read more

But I've been served a cold faux chicken sandwich (it's not really chicken, so just make it hot), also fish tacos that came at about 45 minutes after ordering. Our friend NEVER got her meal until after we complained and THAT took another hour. "The Manager" said she couldn't force the cooks to cook and aren't allowed in the kitchen. We wanted to really like this restaurant- location - view - menu offerings - but sadly, the management needs some help. Our first visit was good with a fabulous waitress too! We were a large group of 12 that kept growing and we were accommodated appreciatively on the patio. Our cocktails were well made. We were attended to well. The food came out together, lovely presentation, generous portions and piping hot. This was on a Tuesday night. Our waitress had no problem with the many separate checks and she was tipped well by all. We came back Friday night and brought some others with us for a total of 5 this time. Instead of the deck, we opted for an umbrella table closer to the water. This time our waitress did not seem well-trained or versed in customer service. Our drinks came out slowly and we were never offered refills or an opportunity to order another round. Our food took over an hour to arrive and only 4 plates were brought out. The waitress asked if we needed anything else and of course, we said -yes - the fifth plate. She acted surprised said she would check on it. Fifteen minutes later, we flagged her down and again, she seemed surprised but also like she hadn't heard this request before. Again, she said she would check. When reminded of the amount of time that's passed and that we had not been given any update, she retorted - I can't make the chef's cook your food! What!?!?! So we ask for the manager. 10 minutes later, we flagged down a different waitress and again asked for the manager. The woman who came out as the manager was not kind, receptive or understanding. She was confrontational. She said we wouldn't pay for the fifth dinner but it would be 12-13 minutes to cook it and - Did we still want it!? By now everyone has finished their dinners and drinks. No offers for additional drinks or to order desserts. Our friend says yes she still needs to eat so please make her dinner. ... it eventually came out after another 20 minutes. The manager was despicable to us as if it was our fault and insisted our friend pay for her one drink! The night ended very poorly. Also, our first four dinners came out room temperature to cold! The extremely awful customer service by the waitress, the manager AND the owner assured that we will not return, nor can we recommend this restaurant to anyone else. Sad. read more

It's just sliders bar food extremely expensive for what you got. The whole table except for me got there food timely . Another server gave my food to another table on father's day. The waitress didn't really give to shits twenty minutes later I got my perch sliders . Six of us 150 dollars later for sliders. The view is nice. My advice is to go somewhere else . I feel like this place is a hidden gem. Getting to have dinner outside on a beautiful Saturday night overlooking the water where there were some really talented musicians providing live entertainment is almost perfect. The only thing that would have made it better is if there were some healthier options on the menu for the vegan/vegetarian club. They had a few, don't get me wrong. Highly recommend the fried green tomatoes (ignore my unhealthy choice) because dang they were good. And the fact that there was a pontoon boat available for rides around the quarry (for a donation) really felt like I was on vacation. After our boat ride, we sat in the cool swings around a fire pit and listened to the music. Realized corn hole would have been an option but didn't see it until we were leaving. I'll keep it short and sweet. They have 3 owners here and apparently they're trying to stay afloat because if you order a double margarita, you will pay double price. Service was ok but very slow however that is not uncommon anywhere lately so not going to hold that against them. I'm not sure where to start. My in laws (80 yr olds) were returning home after a months stay and this was our final time seeing them. We were all very excited (nine of us) because we came here when it was Bedrock and the place looked like it was going to be even better, menu included. Wrong. I started out with a strawberry mule ($10 btw) and it was mostly ginger beer. After ordering the brussel sprouts as an appetizer (best thing all of us ate) this thrash band starts playing! Are you kidding? A nice relaxing place on the water just turned into a grunge concert! It was so loud we couldn't even talk to each other. On top of it, the band sucked. I mean sucked. After about 50 minutes or so, the waitress comes out and tells my MIL that they had no more Portobello mushrooms for her meal and would she like something else. Irritated and not very hungry after the appetizers, she orders the chicken TENDERS from the kids menu. Our meals all come out and hers are literally the frozen dinosaur chicken NUGGETS. I had the Honey Balsamic Thai Chicken, mediocre at best. To the chef, I do not recommend throwing a slice of cheese on top of anything but a hamburger, it just looks bad. Use shredded. Not to mention, this was a supposed gourmet meal for $18 and it was not even close to worth it. Every single person in our party said they were disappointed and will not likely be back. Husband and I went to the quarry for a much needed date night. It did not disappoint. We didn't realize it was reservation only but decided on the hour wait (our fault, not uncommon lately). They have a self serve area with a cash bar. We ordered some drinks and enjoyed the view of the lake. It was pretty hot out so there were not very many people out. Our bartender, Mariah, offered to run us food. She went way above and beyond what we expected as did most of the staff. Fantastic service. Not to mention our food was superb. Good food, bad service. I've been there twice thinking maybe it would be different. My server was a blonde woman, shorts with gems on the back, kind of a little bigger. She was very rude. Giving very much Karen vibes. She yelled at me when I told her my burger was still very much red. I said it with a lot of respect so I'm not sure why the bad attitude. I felt very uncomfortable as well as she got on the phone with athe police and had them block off the entrance to the quarry. Had all families and friends kicked out. She then proceeded to yell at everybody coming out telling them to leave and they know not to come back here. Terrible. read more

I want this restaurant to make it, but even with all of their attempts at improving, the service and average food is pulling them down. This was probably my sixth attempt to eat here, and it's really struggling. The outdoor atmosphere is its best quality and that's what takes it from 1 star to 3. Seriously, nothing else. We entered, and the very young hostess asked if we wanted to sit at the bar... No, we are here for dinner. Many, many open tables were available inside and out. We requested outside and she proceeded to sit us at a table and had to check if it was ok, because this was her first day. Ok, no worries. We waited 15-20 minutes for a server to greet us, ordered drinks and waters. She returned 10 minutes later without them and asked if we wanted an appetizer. Ok, sure, so we ordered one. Still no drinks. Appetizer came, no drinks no water, no plates for the food. I asked the young girl who brought our food for some water, and she needed the name of our server. We had no idea. Finally our server brings drinks and water and we ask for plates please and she looks annoyed, but brings them and slaps them down on the table and walks away. We have long finished our app and she takes our dinner order. I ask about specials, and she says they have none then remembers there is a shark steak special and "maybe a Philly cheese steak." No description of either. Our dinner arrives and is set down and the empty plates remain on our table, so I attempted to stack them. My son orders a second drink and we both ask for more water please, and eventually it arrives. I'm certainly not asked if I need another drink. We have long finished our unfortunately, very average meal, and she eventually returns to ask if we need anything else. Nope, just the check. 10 minutes later, she slaps it on the table and again just walks away. We immediately put our credit card down but still wait forever for her to come back for it. There was a " thanks, have a good night," when she drops off the receipt, but seriously such a slow, uncaring, young server who just did not care, and it showed. Unfortunately it also showed in the tip she was left. The atmosphere is beautiful on a nice day, the food is average, and dinners are $18 and up. Seasonal drinks menu was unimpressive, but my old fashioned was very good. I'm happy to pay the prices, but the service is So Bad! I get it that help is hard to find, but someone needs to rethink their training so much more. And maybe stop the gathering of all of the youngsters at the hostess stand, and utilize your hostesses more at refilling waters, and something else useful. read more

I don't often comment on restaurants unless they're exceptionally good or exceptionally bad. Unfortunately, the Quarry modern eatery was exceptionally horrible. My brother and I were given our food lukewarm. The corn was shriveled and looked at least weeks old. My brother's steak tasted like dog food and my fish was obviously frozen previously. The only good thing about this place was Monroe lake for the view. The worst part was the waitress was also very slow and not very nice to us. When she brought out the food she acted as if it was edible and nothing was wrong with it, when the corn on our plates was not even something I'd feed a dog. When I asked for more corn she just brought me creamed corn from a can instead. The prices are also very expensive. (18 dollars for the mahi dish) We were still hungry after we left because the portion sizes were so small. I just want to save others from having as bad of an experience as we did. read more
