Escargot is okay, burgundy sauce is nice with the white bread. No Alaskan king crab legs at all, they are out of the crab meat. No lime for my water. :/ The Greek salad is good, like the dressing. Lots of croutons, had to discard them off the salad. I wouldn't have expected croutons to be in my Greek salad at all. The feta comes in blocks, nice. The side Caesar is not bad, covered in croutons as well. The white Italian bread is soft and billowy, not bad. The honey butter is good. Stuffed salmon is okay, the crab is maybe just tiny bits in the mascarpone sauce, was hoping for some bigger bits of crab. Service is good. Went for Mother's day, my son ordered prime rib at $40 a serving, and the cut was sad, the meat was no way 20 oz, the middle to end was cut paper thin, disappointing !! and my filet was over cooked, and I hate sending stuff back but I did,, to end up with a much smaller filet. I should have just stuck with my over cooked one as that was a nice piece. My husbands steak was also on the lean side and prices were higher for the Mother's day crowd. We visit here alot but I don't think I will choose this restaurant for a holiday meal again. The rib steak and NY strip were 3.5 stars and the filet was 5 stars. However, since they were out of crab legs, I chose the scallops, and they were some of the worst I have ever had at a nice restaurant, rubbery and fishy. I expected much more for the price. The salads were great. Service was good and the ambiance is typical for a modern steak restaurant. We will probably not return to give this one another shot. read more

Service was fantastic my waitress was professional prompt and friendly. Steak lacked seasoning there zippy sauce was not very flavorful. Side of ravioli was a big let down. Straight from the freezer and the meat sauce was gross the meat was dry and gritty like it had been cooked for hours but there were pieces of undercooked onion and tomato in it. The bar had several intoxicated people who at times were quite loud. I found that rude and very unfriendly thankfully I was alone no kids present. For the money it's not a place I'd return. Amazing Place, Amazing Steak !! I stopped at Angelo's for dinner while in the Monore area for business. I was in the mood for steak and after looking at reviews for steakhouses in the area, Angelo's was the best choice. When I entered without a reservation, the hostess brought me to a lovely table in the center of one of the dining rooms. I had a chance to take in the place and see what people were ordering. I decided on the Soup De Jour, which that night was beef soup. My main course was a classic 14 oz New York Strip. Angelo's serves all steaks with their in-house seasonings, mushrooms and their proprietary steak sauce. The soup was very good and a nice precursor to the main course. I chose not to have any bread or any other appetizers as a 14oz steak for me is filling enough. I watched as many tables got their steak and saw what I was about to eat. When my steak came, I had it medium rare, and Angelo's grillmasters made it a perfect medium rare. The steak had so much flavour to it, and you could tell the cut was a high-quality cut. It was a very well-made steak !!! My server was great and although I was dining alone, he made sure to check on me and make my meal and the experience was top-notch. Next time I'm in the area, I will return as I had a great meal and experience at Angelo's. read more

Yikes...I see why the reviews currently reflect 3.5 stars. I was just charged $32(!) for an old fashioned with Sazarec rye. When I inquired as to why, the management response was "it's a double pour". Mind you this information isn't posted anywhere on any menu. The listed price on a 1.5 oz pour is $18...if that was true I'd expect $36. I can buy a HANDLE of Sazarec for $50...what an incredible business model - a 92% margin/bottle - the owners should be studied and emulated by all!!! Buffalo trace is listed at $10/1.5 oz pour. A Buffalo Trace old fashion is listed at $14, a 1.4x up-charge. The up-charge apparently differs based on bourbon/whiskey/whatever on the list. That's not noted anywhere on any literature - beware and ask before ordering. I was expecting $18 or perhaps a tic more for a dash of bitters and a sugar cube or simple syrup. Not nearly double for a rye I can find on the shelf at a gas station down the road. The cherry in the old fashion was muddled and the slice of orange was gigantic and also oddly muddled in the drink. It's certainly an interesting take on an old fashioned and certainly not worth $32 much less the "single pour" rate of $18. Save yourself the frustration - go buy a top shelf bottle - the price/oz will be SIGNIFICANTLY less and the atmosphere of your home certainly better. The going rate in the area for the same drink seems to be between $9-$18 at peak times, not even as a happy hour special. I feel like I've been taken advantage of - what a gross place. read more

The food was absolutely fabulous and the service we received was top shelf. We arrived a few moments early on my Wife's Birthday and were seated almost immediately. Then I requested to eat by course and the waitress actually remembered that's when I knew it was going to be a very good night. We began with Shrimp cocktails and hot buns which were delicious with the honey butter they provided. Then the famous French onion soup covered in fresh mozzarella cheese. As we enjoyed our appetizers and enjoyed the great atmosphere of the chophouse you could smell the wonderful aroma of the main course of porterhouse steak and fried shrimp. My wife who happens to be Filipina and Hawaiian enjoyed the seafood platter along with her clam chowder. Next we received Greek salads and bread sticks followed by the 24oz porterhouse prepared to a perfection. Too full for dessert but they have some great ones. I guess the only negative of the evening was that the market had switched from crab legs to lobsters tail, and crab is my wife's favorite. We made do. All in all a wonder evening and didn't even mind the $150 they lightened in my wallet. Great place to try all steaks and chops and Angelo's Chop House is now our go to place in the Monroe area. My husband and I went into dinner thinking it could be a great choice--or a terrible one. Unfortunately, it was the latter. The evening started with a high school aged hostess dressed inappropriately (her chest spilling out of her shirt) for the type of restaurant they advertise. From there, it went downhill: the sparkling water was flat, my steak (ordered medium) was raw and cold inside but hard and burnt on the outside. Drinks and salads arrived fairly quickly, but we waited over 40 minutes for our mains. After finishing our salads, we sat for 20 minutes without a single update from our server. The ambience was dark and uninviting, with numerous burnt-out lights. Throughout the night, we kept comparing the food to other restaurants--sadly, this place didn't come close. Service was slow across the board, from food timing to paying the bill, despite the place not being busy. Overall, very disappointing. We love the Angelo's North Town Villa so we gave this location a try. There are some differences; they don't have villa bread at this location, but they have a brown sugar butter and they have some different items on the menu. We usually can't get an appetizer at north town because only one is vegetarian but it's mushrooms and one of us doesn't like mushrooms. They have a spinach artichoke dip at this location. It is one of the best spinach artichoke dips we've ever had. That was a great start to the meal! I got the NY strip which is what I order at North Town Villa location as well. I would say it tasted just about the same, it was a little over cooked here though. My boyfriend had the Alfredo and thought it tasted similar to the Alfredo at the north town location. It also felt cleaner than the North Town Villa location. We would highly recommend giving this place a try! read more

Super low key environment, friendly and inviting. Menu was AMAZING. So many great options. I opted for the filet and king crab legs...chefs kiss! The bartender was so friendly! The cocktail menu is fun and there are some great options. The dessert options were also outstanding. It was so amazing and I had such an amazing time, I went back the next night. My experience was just as legendary as the first. I am really upset that nothing was done to make up for the experience. I ordered a ribeye medium, came to me well done, when i told the server she said she could send it back but it would be at least 20 minutes before i could get one remade, so i could have watched my husband eat his overdone steak while waiting, he ordered medium rare and got medium, he noted the wait and decided not to bring it up, his was smothered in mushrooms which is how they normally come and i hate mushrooms so it was not an option to share his in the meantime, the baked potatoes were very small and overcooked as well as the side shrimp, 10.00 for 3 rubbery shrimp in oil. Yaaay! Ranch dressing was white water, dont order that-pick a different dressing i guess. Just got a "sorry" from the server but did not alert the kitchen or manager that the kitchen staff needs to learn how to prepare steaks. Never again i say!!! read more

A very cozy establishment, subtly dim lighting and the warmth of a family gathering. The French/Italian options available are superb! Starting with the escargot and French onion soup was a terrific choice as the escargot were divine, cooked perfectly and resting in a burgundy sauce with fresh lemon squeezed over for the perfect zesty twist. The soup was the perfect portion for a pre-entree and cheesy as imaginable, although a bit more onion could have been added. For the main course, the linguini pescatora made the evening complete; scallops gently seared, jumbo shrimp, and succulent mussels smothered in a flavorful garlic and white wine sauce, with tomatoes, sautéed shiitake mushrooms, and minced parsely for garnish, all over a bed of al dente noodles. It appears there should have been crab meat, as well, but it went unnoticed this go around, if it was included. There were drink options aplenty, a whiskey selection above and beyond, but a Founders Rübæus draft seemed most appropriate and was quite refreshing. The service was courteous and most professional given the slight bustle of a Saturday evening rush. Overall, this restaurant is a tremendous place to visit and would be highly recommended to anyone looking for a fantastic date night, a great family meal out, or a place to treat yourself and enjoy a little nicer fare. read more

Ally, my bartender, I really pleasant, and attentive. I ordered the filet minion. It was flavorful , tender, and perfectly cooked. It came with roasted Parmesan asparagus (to me this was horrid but some must like it), my side choice, and a loaded baked potato. STILL Omaha Prime has the best filet I've ever enjoyed. Tried Angelos in Monroe. I think it is in the old Bob Evan's. Anyhow, exactly what I expected from Monroe, busy, lots of locals etc. Got drinks and an app to start which were good. Dinner was the Swordfish special, filet and lamb chops. I would say the Swordfish was the thinnest piece i have ever seen, the meat was salty and in was doused in sauce. The sides were what you would expect from rice and veggies. The filet was not hot but cooked well, quality was a little on the tough side. The lamb chops were market price and cost $61! They were way overcooked and were just barely warm. This was all after our server kept telling us that our dinners were coming but we were behind a big order. We guessed that the meats were cooked early and sat while they were waiting for the swordfish. Service was good, ambiance was ok, extremely loud! 3 stars is a gift! read more
