Silly name but good. Our entrees were a mixed bag. Was informed they had no crab legs. Very disappointing. Should have been on the website. Was really looking forward to it. Got perch instead. Good. We are rather new to the area and unfamiliar with the local restaurants. Saw Angelo's a few times driving into Monroe. Saw it was always busy so decided to try for my birthday. Amazing food and lovely staff. Our go to is the Rib Steak. Absolutely melt in your mouth delicious. We also took out of town visiting friend here and they loved it! Don't understand why the many negative reviews of this place. I came in for an early dinner. Found the restaurant to be pretty nice. There were not many people there when I came in. Looks upscale but not really and the prices are reasonable. Ordered a French onion soup for an appetizer and the Filet Mignon for my entree, medium rare with mushrooms and vegetables. The French Onion soup was very delicious and rich. Its seems that the French Onion Soup is very typical for this area in Michigan. The Filet Mignon was absolutely perfect and cooked perfectly to my liking. Perfect pink center. The sauce around it made it even more delicious and the mushroom and veggies were delicious as well. We couldn't have been more pleased with our meal. The escargot was delicious, for starters. We then my dinner mates had the ribeye (pictured) and I had the chicken piccata. Both were well prepared and delicious, quality ingredients. The Greek vinaigrette dressing is a must try and the soups were good as well. Also, the prices were very reasonable. The food was pretty good until we asked for a dessert menu. The server went to get one and came back to say that they don't have any because desserts rotate. We said ok, what do you have? She said we have Espresso Cheesecake, Blueberry Cheesecake & Chocolate Layer Cake. We ordered Espresso Cheesecake and were served Espresso cake. Considering the previous yelps I was reluctant to come here for dinner. I did anyway due to the lack of options. I sat at the bar and Amanda waiter on me. Order taken right away and my soup came immediately soup was very good. Entree came out in a reasonable time. Very tasteful done. This place has only been open five weeks. The rib steak rocks. The Bourbon selection is the best I've seen anywhere in the area. The bartender is very knowledgeable.

We went here unexpectedly May 2023 while in travel and we were very very impressed with the service and the quality of the food. The Lamb chops were made perfectly. Went with my husband for dinner. There was only a couple of ladies seated at the bar and us, the rest of the place was empty. After being seated it was at least 5 minutes before we'd we saw anyone again. We finally got our drinks order and dinner in and it was almost 30 more minutes before we saw good. The salad was sad, a bowl of lettuce with a cucumber and slice of onion. The bread was hard as a rock. The chicken Alfredo had good sauce but the chicken was paper thin. The steak was very good and came with mushrooms on top which for us was welcomed. We tried it it and had high hopes as we live nearby and there are not any good steakhouses, but with service that slow in an empty night, I'd hate to see how long it would take when busy. read more

Maybe we hit it on an off night, I would try it again, but wasn't crazy about the service, slow and "off". Had to ask for our drinks, which were ordered 15 minutes prior. The steak wasn't to die for ... had better, and not everyone likes mushrooms and gravy on steak, but they ALL come that way, sorta covers up the lack of flavor on the steak I guess, not much seasoning. Scallops had a strong fish flavor, good ones are mild. Overall not too bad for the area, but Longhorns has my business for steak. I will drive the distance to Toledo. read more

My wife and I have been going to Angelo's chop house in Monroe MI. for a few months now and everything has been outstanding, Last night we headed over for dinner got in and ordered first up the French onion soup to die for, came out Luke warm cheese barely melted. Ask the waitress why it was cold she said I wouldn't know . not what I was expecting anyway moving on I got my normal was great. my wife switched it up and got the crab legs and asparagus on the side. We began to eat and the crab legs and the asparagus were cold to the touch and had a salty flavor on them. So we asked to talk to the manager just to let them know didn't care about the money the part that is weird about this interaction was the son of the restaurant came out and was very very defensive before we were getting ready to talk to him. My wife started to tell him the soup, crab legs and the asparagus was cold he fired off I'm not eating $110.00 in crab legs that's what the butter is for wait what we both said that's not what we're are saying we are advising him to let his staff know. The Food came out cold let your staff know. Then he said I need to fix the soup thing and walked away very un professional. It sucks as this was one of or favorite restaurant to frequent on data night. Just want to say thanks for screwing up our data nite.... Terrible Alaskan crab legs!!!! I don't usually write reviews but I feel compelled to write about this place. However, tonight we ordered the Surf and Turf and while the Filet was wonderful, the Alaskan King crab was awful!! It was prepared in a way that ive never seen before - already cut open and grilled or something. It was very tough and fishy smelling and fishy tasting. Im very particular about my seafood especially crab legs - they should be sweet and tender. These definitely were not sweet, almost sour and very fishy and they were very tough! We let the waitress know we weren't happy with the crab legs and she took the plate back with the crab legs, leaving the filet. She returned a few minutes later with the plate of crab legs and said the chef said they were fresh from Alaska (!!??) so there was nothing wrong with them. It seemed strange that they returned the plate back from the kitchen - who knows what they did to it. She said they would not be able to take the crab legs off the the bill. okay fine but we did not want the crab legs now so husband said chef could eat them. A few minutes later, a man approached our table without identifying himself, with his arms folded and said do we have a problem here? It was a very confrontational pose and tone of voice which my husband did not respond well to. He just told him to leave while we were eating dinner. The waitress said he was the owner, which is very poor customer service. They charge a ridiculous amount of money for mediocre to bad crab legs. If we wanted mediocre crab legs we would have gone to red lobster. These were literally the worst crab legs I have ever eaten. And horrible horrible customer service. We will never be back here again, which is too bad since there are very few good steak houses in the Monroe area. read more

The establishment was clean and staff courteous. My Manhattan was too warm and uninspiring. The vegetables were over cooked and baby-food soft--both the asparagus and the vegetable medley. The vegetable medley consisted of onion slices and zucchini--disappointing. The rib eye was cooked to temperature, yet the quality of cut was not better than a choice Costco selection. Recommend by a local hotel. A friend and I came in to get a bite to eat around 8 pm. Decided to eat at the bar. Waited forever to get menus and water. Waited even longer for the bartender to take our orders, I ordered a Greek Salad she ordered a Fruit and nut salad. Description said "a bed of field greens dried fruit and mixed nuts. She asked that feta cheese be added. Bed of field greens consisted of ice berg lettuce, no field greens, dried fruit and the mixed nuts contained pistachios still in the shell. My salad had olives with the pit. Both salads were terrible, we're lucky we didn't break a tooth. Service was very slow and way understaffed. The real story is that my friend is very sick today. My friend, a nurse, is talking to state health department now. Food poisoning of some kind for sure. Since we were on the road and hadn't eaten all day this is where she got it. Be careful read more

I would say this is a good place to visit in Monroe. Other high end restaurants open up out here and there's some competition and this place would score fair. BUT your in MoNROE MI, probably the best to offer, great service, good steak, Bar tender does a great job. Lots of people visiting maybe they have never heard of yelp to post honest reviews. Service was decent, I went today (Friday night) with a co worker for what we thought was gonna be a nice dinner considering the prices and all but ended up being disappointed. I ordered the appetizer "pig wings" my friend but into 1 wing and the outside of the meat was hot but frozen on the inside. I didn't believe him so I kept eating my wings and sure enough I bit into a piece with a cold center they took the wings back and offered me another plate but I passed. Disgusting. My main dish was the pork chops. Those were very delicious. But nothing spectacular. Clam chowder was 10/10. But for the price I was expecting a lot more so I wouldn't recommend this place read more

I tried Angelo's tonight with a friend, as we have passed by it frequently and wondered how it would be. I often see a number of cars in the parking lot so that is a good sign. To clarify - my friend and I did not order steak - after all it is a chop house. So maybe not ordering a steak was not a wise decision. We both ordered pasta. We also ordered the Baked Potato Boat appetizer. These were good, not great. Our pasta was so-so. I ordered the Ravioli Raballa and the sun-dried tomatoes and the mushrooms were extremely tough and chewy. The sauce in the Ravioli wasn't that tasty. Again, it wasn't bad, just not great. The prices were not exorbitant, so that was good. Overall, not a bad meal just not great. The service was just fine. I did see another server chomping away on a wad of gum in her mouth...very unattractive for a restaurant trying to be of this caliber.
