Pretty fun place, especially for kids or the kid inside of you lol. The pumpkin patch was definitely a sight to see! What made it even more fun was the mud! The hayride was a convenient way to ride to the pumpkin patch (for free) without having to trek through the mud and puddles, but we decided to do that on the way back to the entrance/marketplace. Great ciders and a plethora of food options! Love the kiddie area and animal barn. A very cute experience. The crowd was large, but not crowded. There was sufficient amount of parking right across the street. I liked that the parking staff were even helping those stuck in the mud. Aside from the other pumpkins patches near by this was the most family oriented place. The experience was definitely fun. Wear boots, get dirty, pick a pumpkin and enjoy the food! read more

The Pumpkin Patch is our family's favorite fall tradition. We enjoy all the farm has to offer; farm fresh produce, U-Pick pumpkins, and of course The MAiZE. The Pumpkin Patch is a must in October, when it's fun to ride the free hayride out to the huge pumpkin patch and find our perfect pumpkins. Their pumpkins always have beautiful, healthy stems and a great shape. The people are super friendly and helpful. The food is good at The Patio Cafe and the cute Gift Shop is worth a stop. Can't recommend this place enough! Be sure you find the right place, as there are knock off farms on Sauvie Island. Look for the Big Red Animal Barn and the red and white striped produce market. read more

GREAT SPOT for family outing - esp if you have kids under 10. We go every October. Our kids are under 5, so we usually get there around 10:00 AM. This means BEFORE the kids-have-soccer-in-the-morning-so-we-come-after-that crowds. (And believe me when I say CROWDS). In the morning, close parking is a certainty, all the the other mommies and daddies with small kids are there sipping lattes from the little espresso stand. It's so fun watching the little ones roam the patch, go on the hay ride, pick out pumpkins, then sit and snack, all while their suv-driving, yuppy parents are photographing them with fancy cameras :) (There's a definite demographic there, and you'll see what I mean, but it's super fun.) Love the fresh, inexpensive produce (think farmer's market food, but waaay cheaper), the roasted corn, pizzas, and mirco-brew bus (sooooo Portland, it's not even funny) (and consequently, soooo yummy after a few hours chasing your kids and getting their little rain boots unstuck from the mud). Definitely take rain boots and cash. Will make life easier for everyone involved. read more

I loved this place! We were kind of disappointed with Bella's organic farm so we decided to do a quick stop here before leaving. I have to say the theme of the farm was so cute and beautiful, the staff were also very sweet and nice. They also had a great variety of things to see and do. Over all I feel this farm was a lot more organized and their pricing for everything they have is also better than Bella's. Definitely worth the 40 minute drive and would visit again before fall is over! read more

I am giving them one star because in the animal barn they do not have any staff to monitor the animals while hoards of people walk through the barn yelling and stomping their feet. It must be extremely nerve racking for the animals who are forced to be put on display. I felt like this place has potential but when I saw how the animals were treated I couldn't give them my money. read more

We had an excellent time at "The Pumpkin Patch" yesterday! We were so impressed with the organization and efficiency of how everything was ran. They were well staffed and every person we encountered was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The corn maze was immaculate and had saw dust down to keep the mud at bay. We saw staff members throughout the maze which was nice for anyone who may have been in need of their services. The market was so impressive. We purchased canned goods, and lots of delicious beautiful fresh produce as well as our pumpkins to take home. The Pumpkin Patch will be our new go-to patch for seasons to come! read more

The views are breathtaking. On a clear day, one can see a few mountains out yonder. We visited on a Monday and most of the concessions were closed and take cash only. There are plenty of beautiful pumpkins all shapes and sizes. In the store it is a squash heaven. There were helpful labels describing the best uses for each variety. My daughter loved the petting farm (goats and pigs). We did not have time for the maize or unfortunately the wine/cider tasting. All and all, gave a three point rating because the place is disorganized and had a poor variety of snacks. read more

It was horrible, first it costs $8 to get in!! Than after me and my friends were 5 minutes into the maze a worker comes up to us and says that we have to get out because we were**throwing corn** so after we got out at the main ground I asked him if he had any evidence and completely ignored us, after 30 seconds of silence during the conversation while he is staring at me he say, " oh and if you try to get back in you will be charged of criminal trespassing. This was the epitome of a wasted day. The Pumpkin Patch is fine, if you can get to it. We went on a Sunday morning two weeks before Halloween and traffic getting on and off the island is a nightmare. The 1.5 mile drive from the farm to the bridge took literally over an hour both ways. Most of the pumpkins in the field were rotten and the farm itself doesn't offer anything that any other pumpkin patch wouldn't. Will not be returning next year, or ever. There are plenty of other area farms and pumpkin patches that offer similar amenities. Not worth the wasted time in the car. Avoid the hassle. read more

It's hard not to be critical when we had to wait ridiculous lengths of time for everything and there were clear opportunities to improve service. Coffee baristas: BREW the next shots while you steam milk or clean or take money. Seriously, your machine is slow...you can do two things at the same time, wait on two different customers especially when there are two of you and the you know the next order will include two shots of espresso SINCE EVERY DRINK YOU SERVE starts with two shots. This was the most painful experience of the day. Cow ride people: Fill the cars, seek out singles in the line, don't send out empty cars when people are waiting 45 minutes to ride. Elephant ear people: you are making wildly differently sized ears. I felt ripped off that my ear was half the size of the two ears given out right before mine. Market people: great job, you are carrying the team! Clean, organized and short lines especially given how crazy busy it was. Pumpkin patch: maybe it was a rough pumpkin year, but I had to search hard for pumpkins with green stems that will actually last until Halloween. So many were moldy or rotting or drying up already. Would have been nice to have a much larger ghost pumpkin selection, all were small and pretty picked over. Other Food: corn great, pork sandwich - meh, water only a dollar! read more

A nightmarish experience trying to leave this pumpkin patch yesterday. We got into our car to leave at 4:30 and didn't make it out of the parking lot until 6:30...yes, it took 2 hours to exit a Costco-sized parking lot. And then another 40 minutes to get off the island. There was no one directing traffic at the pumpkin patch until we had been waiting in the exact same spot for over an hour. People were begging/harassing the poor guy whose job it was to pick up trash in the parking lot. It was a stressful situation and a safety hazard. As for the pumpkins, they were pretty picked over and there were quite a few moldy ones. Be warned - this place can not accommodate large holiday crowds. I think I'd be much happier getting my pumpkins at Safeway next year. read more

We went here for the first time this year and we won't be back. Hugely crowded with a "Disneyland" atmosphere. Nothing that feels local or "home-grown" here. It's a money maker and that's it. The corn field maze was OK but not that interesting. The worst part were the animals who obviously aren't well taken care of. One of the cows was sick and the pens were unclean. There wasn't anything here that would compel us to go again and next year we'll choose a small, more "local" place to purchase our pumpkins. read more

I enjoy going here every other year. The place is great for autumn time fun. You can easily spend a leisurely afternoon here. They have large jars of pumpkin butter for sale for only five dollars, and I bought a butternut squash here for only 50 cents. This is Cheaper than most places this time of year. Next door is Bella Organics --- and you can pick a pumpkin here or at Bella's for a fair price. The Corn Maze is always fun, and the last few years they've been running specials on Groupon and Living Social to bring the price down. I did the haunted maze at night a few years ago. They had some people dress up as ghosts and a few haunted people, but nothing too unusual. It often can be dark, cold, and crowded at night so prepare yourself for that. So this year I went during the day to the corn maze in September with a friend. The trivia contests for the maze were fun, and the maze was worth venturing into. They have a garden, a barn with chickens and alpaca, and a quaint gift shop. It was pleasant and one of the best stops you can make on Sauvie Island. Kruger's farm is nice too.......so check out there produce and flower farm too if you have the time. I think they used to have scarecrow contests here, but I didn't see that here this year. Great place all year around! I go for the pumpkins in early October to beat the crowds. I have been strawberry picking in the summer and it wasn't very busy. Their store is amazing and has great local produce. I wish it was a littler closer to home because every time I go there I get lots of produce. read more

I used to come to this patch when I was a kid, and now this place has become so crowded and hectic that ordering food becomes a huge ordeal. My low score is mostly attempting to address that it's not equipped for the crowds of people that attend. My husband and I decided to go and get our pumpkins and enjoy the maze. Once we hit highway 30, the line was so backed up it took us over an hour just to get to the patch. Once we were there, we realized everything was cash only, so we went to the ATM line. We stood in line for 30 minutes just to withdraw cash. When we had our money, we stood in line for another 25 minutes to order food from a girl who seemed stressed and inexperienced. Again, more waiting once we ordered our food, by now we've been at the patch for over an hour and have done nothing but withdraw money and order food (which was over-priced). After we finally eat, we are both less enchanted with the whole experience, so we went out to get our pumpkins on the hay ride. Unfortunately the pumpkins were well picked over and most of them were green. We settled on one of the only orange ones we could find, and took the hay ride back. We took the pumpkin to the car, saw the long line headed to the maze, and finally just decided to go home. It took us another hour to get off the island. For me, the constant lines and long waits are just not worth it. I'll be finding a lesser known patch next year. read more

Hands down five stars. I've been meaning to write good review on this place. My daughter loves the free barn yard show, the food at the burger stand is pretty good, service is excellent. Produce is always fresh and reasonably priced. I love the gift shop, great original items at a great price, I buy most of my gifts for family there and the main lady who runs the shop is very nice. Too bad Bella farms down the road tries to take away business from the Pumpkin Patch, they don't even compare. Also, the haunted Maze is well worth the price, safe and always fun. read more

This pumpkin patch was nothing special and felt like a wasted day. It took 2 hours to get to this pumpkin patch when it should have taken 20 minutes. Parking was impossible to find. The pumpkins are very over priced but fortunately the person collecting my money couldn't do math so I ended up only paying 6$ for two medium sized pumpkins. Then when it was time to leave, the parking lot was a disaster. The farm needs to have more than one person directing traffic. People were driving over cones and through ropes in order to cut people off and get out a few minutes faster. It took me an hour and a half just to get out of the parking lot!! Basically a trip that I wanted to take 2 hours ended up taking 5 hours. Huge waste of time for a very unsatisfactory pumpkin patch. I would NOT recommend this place unless you want to sit in traffic for hours and hours. read more

This is a great place if you want to be able to take your (on leash) dog to the pumpkin patch. We take our pup every year and take photos of him in the pumpkins. This is the only patch we found that allows dogs so even though its a good drive for us we think its worth it! They also have a wonderful little farm shop.... But (some) of the staff were a little cranky this year and we always seem to miss when most of their outside booths are open (elephant ears and the like). read more

It's hard to believe since I love all holidays, that I've never been to this Pumpkin Patch. I had the opportunity to go on a sunny Saturday morning with our monthly doggie meetup group and had the chance to stay and hang out afterwards. The dogs were allowed to be off-leash amongst the pumpkins and we were able to hitch a ride back on the hay tractor where we did the corn maze! Afterwards we rewarded our finish by having some deliciously sweet corn on the cob, freshly popped kettle corn, and a creamy baked potato. A visit to the pet barn where we saw peacocks, pigs and a pony topped off our fun day trip. Of course, we picked up a few pumpkins as a souvenir of our amazing day! I've been to several of these since moving to Oregon and this was by far the best! The cheapest too...The patch you get your pumpkin from is where they are actually growing! Your not picking for a bunch of pumpkins that were dumped in a grassy field. Great food and super helpful staff. They also offered u-pick flowers! I'm a picky broad and I loved this place :) Its great also for those who are looking for a more adult visit. There are totally things there for kids but unlike other farms I've been too...they aren't running around screaming and crying everywhere. read more

This place wasn't worth the drive! Went on a Wednesday afternoon. The pumpkins out in the field where in various stages of rotting. There were two guys working there; both were rude and lacked any sort of customer service skills. They were blasting techno music through a PA system...I didn't know techno music was the soundtrack to the average American family activity... The corn maze was...a corn maze. Nothing special at all! They advertise a cafe. which seemed completely deserted. The only positive aspect of this pumpkin patch was that they had a special on huge pumpkins: those over 30 or 35 pounds were all $9. Holy cow! We spent about 45 minutes in line on the highway just to get to the bridge, another 25 to get over to the farm, then another 10 getting into the parking area. The hayrides were short and not very interesting. The pumpkins were ok, but I have one just like it at home from the Fred Meyer down the street. The food was served by people not wearing gloves or nets over their hair (who wants a beard hair in their food?). It was worse than fair food, but I made the kids eat because who know when we would actually make it off the Island! We waited as long as possible to get into our car to try to get away. I had to wait about half an hour just to get out of my parking spot on the end (trying to make it easy for the kids to find) as there were cars in line in front of me and behind me that weren't moving as they had to merge into the exit route that wasn't moving. There was very little direction or control of the lanes so a lot of people were able to cut in and get out while the back of the line just sat and didn't move. I even saw a lady carrying a red gas can back into the parking lot (have no idea where she got the gas). Once we got out of their parking area, the cars were moving at a walkable pace, which was faster than the parking lot. We passed a line of people heading towards the patch that had already closed. All I could think about was how miserable it would be to actually live there and have some emergency and not be able to get help soon enough. We left for the patch about 1:00, with a 15-mile drive to get there and finally arrived about 3:30. We got back into the car to leave at about 5:00 and got home about 7:00. My insight: it was a miserable experience and this patch was not worth the wait, nor the expense. read more

I try to do most of my fruit & veggi shopping here during the growing season because it's clearly marked if it's locally grown & cheaper than the big grocery stores. I avoid it like the plague on the weekends during the Halloween rush. This past fall they didn't seem to have the same variety, my choices seemed limited but maybe that was just me.
