Our favorite annual summer activity is coming to Grossen to pick fresh peaches! So many varieties to choose from, and the farm is beautiful, great way to spend your day especially if you're looking for a family activity We eat a lot fresh, freeze some, make some jams/compote and then at the end of the season I like to make a few cobblers to freeze and enjoy while they aren't in season!

Great orchard--easy to get to, especially if you live on the west side! They provide boxes, and have carts available to pull your haul. $2/lb, they accept credit cards. The peaches are beautiful and delicious. And the trees are short, no ladders They're really good about updating their website daily regarding whether they're open and what varieties are available. ETA: as of my visit 8/18/23, peaches are $2.50/lb

I'm almost don't want to post this because this is such a hidden gem of a place!! The people are friendly, it's such a nice farm with spread out areas to pick, not too big not too small, and it is a fantastic spot. Call ahead and listen to the voicemail message that they always update, they're not usually open on Saturday's but today they were and it was great :) The peaches are so juicy and delicious with a number of varieties!! Please check this place out, you could totally have a fun and nice picnic there too (bring your own food of course) :) Totally going back next year!!

We went on the first day of U pick opening. The red haven peaches are our favorite. We didn't get there till 1:30 pm and the trees were bare. We were lucky a lady showed us 2 trees that still had plenty of red haven peaches left. Peach season is short so go early and grab as much you as can. We are planning another trip this Friday but sounds like there aren't many peaches left by this weekend.

This peach farm has been my favorite for years. A few years back they didn't open to the public, and i was (just a little) heart broken. However, I always check it out around August, and am glad they started to open to the public again. They have different types of peaches. All are healthy looking and delicious. The farm is quite large, so sometimes the owner will give you a ride (in his speedy golf cart) if it's not busy. I was able to pick 1.5 boxes of peaches within 20 minutes in a Saturday morning, which I am thankful to avoid hauling peaches under the hot summer sun. Also, you can sign up for their newsletter to keep up with their schedule and fruit availability. I find it really helpful, and am always looking forward to see the "peach alert" in my inbox. The best part is, the newsletter will let you know the pricing so there will be no guessing game. Overall, I'd highly recommend Grossen Peaches farm. Friendly staff, delicious peaches, on time/accurate newsletter notification. It's like U picker's dream come true!

Cute and delicious U-Pick peach farm in Hillsboro! They are open Monday to Saturday, 9 AM-5 PM at $1.75 per pound. We picked about 36 peaches and it came out to $38ish. They have boxes for free and wagons for you to borrow, but if you bring your own boxes make sure to get them weighed beforehand.

What a great little place. Signs were posted for the U-pick making it easy to find. Parking was in the grass next to the peach trees. They had a stand outside with already picked peaches and people to show you where to pick (and give you tips on how, if you haven't before). The best peaches around! Nothing like what you would get at the store. The season here is very short, so watch for it and go!! U-pick season can change a little every year with the weather and with the season being so short - the best way to know when Grosssen has opened their U-pick season is to like their facebook page. They post when the peaches are ready for picking and about when they will be done so you can plan your trip out there.

It's just past Helvatia Tavern (a must-visit if you come to pick around lunch time) and in the same turn off as Roloff Farm.

I just wish this market was more of an actual legit market and less tourist gift shop vibe. On to the details of my visit: I'd been looking forward to a solid local market and this one had been on my radar for a while. Unfortunately this wasn't it. It felt more like a typical Oregon roadside tourist trap with the standard "Made in Oregon" stale chocolates, granola, sweets, etc. The produce sections was relatively tiny and only about half of it looked really good. The frozen meat sections was almost entirely out of red meat, there was a tiny amount of fish and then frozen chicken too. However, the prices are tourist gift shop too. Think $10/lb for asparagus, $18/lb for chicken thighs, $10 for a dozen chicken eggs, $14/lb for ground beef, etc. I eventually just looked through their baked goods and noted the bread was date stamped that it was baked 2 days prior and priced at for a $14 loaf of sourdough. My favorite Portland bakeries all offer freshly baked (as in that same day) sourdough and other loaves for $9-$12. Anyhow, I ended up choosing some local brownies and which looked good but ended up being chalky, dry and clearly several days old. I'd love to see a larger selection of prepared foods to enjoy on the pretty back patio too. They just had a bunch of those pre-packaged sandos & wraps like one finds in an airport. Why not add a little pizza oven and or grill for weekends? Anyhow, there's much potential with such a pretty place like this one but it isnt quite there enough for me to make the 30min drive from Portland again.

An enjoyable place to visit in rural Helvetia not far from Hillsboro, OR…read more Upon arriving, I was impressed by the beautiful large rosemary bush with lots of bees busy enjoying the lovely little lavender flowers blooming! When inside the large red shop, so many options of local food, beverage & handcrafted items for sale: cookies, pastries, candy, honey, fresh milk, meat, wine, coffee, sandwiches, chips & so much more. Once done wandering thru or shopping, there is the expansive views out back where one can picnic on the grass, sip some beverages or munch on goodies purchased inside. Also available are table & chairs on the side of the market structure that allows for looping back inside or towards the front parking lot. The grounds are nicely manicured with a variety of beautiful specimen plants to be in awe of. Hopefully you'll go with intent to slow down, relax, linger & enjoy this jewel of a place to visit. Be sure to check out their posted calendar of events as also available on their website.
