This mess is supposed to be one of their really good watermelons.

These people wouldn't know a good melon if they were sitting on it. The one they selected for me, according to their 'expertise', was hollow and rotten. $20 for a stinking piece of garbage. Don't buy produce from these people unless you like throwing away your money.

This is the Sweetest farm! We had such a lovely time! Not only do they have a great selection of pumpkins to choose from on the hill but they have a really fun playground for kids, obstacle courses, a little train ride and free tractor rides! Def coming again next year!

What a fun pumpkin patch, there is a lot of open space so you don't feel like there's too many people around you. Play area and hay rides are closed because of covid... but there are still animals and some play structures for the kiddos. We were there on a weekday so it was self service you just drop some bills in a box and pick up the pumpkins you want.

Awesome pumpkin patch! Just visited today and got a great assortment of large and mini pumpkins. There's a mini hay maze for the kids and tractor tire obstacles for them to play on. The landscape is beautiful, pumpkins are laid out on a bluff. Kids had a great time. No entrance fees. Staff is really nice. We will be back next year!

This place is fantastic for younger children or for adults looking to find great quality pumpkins at reasonable prices. This is our third year visiting the farm, and while we continue to visit alternate places for cornmazes and caramel apples, you can't beat Olsen's for pumpkin picking! They have a play area for small kids with slides and other fun activities, all which are FREE! In addition to a few goats and mini donkeys to look at. There are apples and other fall produce to purchase, as well as corn stalks and hay bails. Again, all very reasonably priced. I was happy to see a local coffee cart onsite during select days this season, which was a nice addition as we've always felt the only thing this place was missing was a yummy treat. The farm is much cleaner than most pumpkin patches as the parking area and play areas are covered in grass, and it makes for some great pumpkin patch photos! We will continue to purchase our family pumpkins from Olsen's in the future and appreciate them for creating a beautiful, fun experience at very little cost to their customers.

    The Barrel Train!

We had a good time at the Olsen Farm harvest festivities. We are a family of 3 and we spent $30, $3 on the barrel train for our son who is 4 and the rest on pumpkins (we got a very large one, a big one, a smaller to medium sized one with warts, and two small gord-like pumpkins). I really wanted to ride the barrel train with my son who also wanted me to as well but the fella who sold the tickets to us said they prefer it to be for children only. I had the feeling the fella thought I might be too heavy (not huge but pleasantly plump) but we saw a few adult men riding and a woman with her child too. I'm not gonna lie, I almost gave 4 stars only just for that but - big deal. I'm almost 40, I don't NEED to ride on the barrel train. Last year we went to another farm (can't remember the name, unfortunately.. Wooden Shoe Farm) and they let me ride the barrel train and they also went way faster and it was a blast. This train was perfect for my son though, who did not enjoy the faster ride last year as much as me and his dad. I think the "conductor" fella took my son for a longer ride than usual because he happened to be the only kiddo on the train, which was nice. I'm giving 5 stars because we genuinely had fun, the grounds and pumpkin patch were clean and beautiful with plenty of nice pumpkins big and small, oh and i almost forgot!! One of the whole reasons I picked this place (besides it being only 8 miles away from us and on the SE side of Portland and had 5 star reviews on here).... They have a horse-drawn hayride to the pumpkin patch. We never been on one before so the novelty of it was very attractive. Our son I think overheard an adult tell their child it was smelly behind the horses on that carriage so they got on the tractor one.... So our son complained and tried refusing the horse one haha but I told him to suck it up and don't listen to and copy other people and get on or I'd go alone. He tried to make everyone and me miserable but i basically told him to shut up but in kinder words. He sucked it up, stopped whining, and said nothing else for the 5 minute ride and told me later it wasn't so bad AND..... Most importantly.... It didn't stink behind the horses. To be fair, the horses did smell a little if you stood up close to them but no worries on the ride. They were probably tired, sweaty, and ready to poop or something. Anyway, thanks Olson Farm, you got a good thing going on there.

Loved this place. Great experience for the kids. They picked 2 lbs of strawberries for $3. They had slides and tires to climb for the kids as well.

There is just something iconic about what Vancouver has done with their waterfront. Every time I…read morecome down there, I find myself looking around thinking, man, this place feels brand new. The buildings, the walkways, the parks, the restaurants, everything is so polished and clean that it almost feels like somebody took a movie set and turned it into a real city. I love a good Portland Saturday Market, but Vancouver has this fresh waterfront energy that really sets it apart. It feels classy without being pretentious, like a fancy neighborhood where everybody still smiles at each other. The Vancouver Farmers Market has been around since 1990 and has grown into one of the largest farmers markets in Washington, which honestly makes perfect sense once you experience it. There are vendors everywhere, local products, handmade goods, flowers, sauces, hot foods, food trucks, and enough things to look at that you accidentally spend three hours wandering around pretending you are "just browsing." Turns out my version of browsing includes walking away with flowers, hot sauce, hot honey for a barbecue trip, and about six other things I absolutely convinced myself I needed. One of my favorite moments was talking with the flower vendor. This lady had me laughing within about thirty seconds. I walked up acting like I knew something about flowers, nodding seriously like I was some kind of botanical scholar, while she could probably tell immediately I just buy flowers based on whether they "look cool." She was hilarious, incredibly friendly, and honestly part of what makes this market special. It does not feel cold or corporate. It feels like a community. The food truck situation completely blew my mind too. I remember when there were only a handful of places to grab food around there, but now it feels like every direction you turn there is another amazing option calling your name. The smells alone should probably come with a warning label. You walk in thinking you are there to shop local and suddenly you are holding three different snacks and discussing dessert like it is a life decision. What really puts this place at the top of the list for me is the atmosphere. Most farmers markets are stuck in random parking lots or crowded side streets, but this one feels elevated. Sitting right there by the waterfront with the clean streets, beautiful setup, modern buildings, and open space, it honestly feels like one of the best hidden gems in the Northwest. Perfect date spot, perfect Saturday outing, and one of those places that reminds you how cool local communities can be when people actually care about creating something beautiful. Huge shout out to everyone involved with the Vancouver Farmers Market. The vendors were friendly, the products were awesome, and the entire experience just left me stoked to come back again.

The flowers looked fresh, vibrant, and thoughtfully arranged -- definitely didn't look like a last-minute grab at all. I also stopped at a small plant stand called Hearth & Hollow where I picked up herbs and vegetable starter plants for my mom's new garden beds. They had an amazing deal -- 3 plants for $10 -- and I ended up leaving with nine plants total because everything looked so healthy and well cared for. Perfect little starter garden setup with herbs and veggies ready to grow. The owner was very pleasant and helpful. The overall vibe of the market was really enjoyable: lots of flowers, plants, local vendors, and people out enjoying the day. The only reason I'm mentioning this is because I expected a little more variety in food options since it's a farmers market, and there honestly weren't many food vendors compared to what I'm used to. Still, overall I absolutely loved walking through it and would definitely go back, especially during springtime. Between the flowers, plants, and atmosphere, it ended up being one of my favorite little stops in Vancouver

The price point is a little higher then some other CSAs but the bounty of high quality produce each week easily justifies the cost. This season I paid $540 for a half share; at 24 weeks (much longer then some CSAs!) it comes to $22.50/week. The return is around 10 different items per week. As an omnivore household of two, it is a lot of veggies to get through per week! This year the lettuces, cucumbers, and carrots have been remarkable. We've had some form of garlic and onion almost every week and have had beautiful dill, basil, and cilantro throughout the season. We are just now hunkering into juicy red tomatoes and sweet corn. 47th Avenue Farms has me covered on all my veg needs and makes it so my grocery store trips are quite minimal. The produce is fresh enough that nothing spoils within the week and , if I can't finish something one week, it is still good the next week too. At the weekly pick up, you bring in your own bags and pick out your share. Next to each item is a sign with the quantity you are supposed to take and you get to pick the stuff that looks good to you! Laura and her staff are around to chat with and they seem to do at least one farm party day each season. I appreciate the weekly recipe packet which is full of not only recipes, but also tidbits about how to prepare some of the less common veggies (I totally needed the help with the fava beans). The only thing this CSA is missing is the occasional fruit but with all of the farmers markets around Portland, I can still get what I need.

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOOVE LOVELOVE LOVEEE LOOOVE! LOVE LOVE LOVE LOOOOOOOVE!!!…read more Was I supposed to say something else? Well, OK... I have a half share...this season it costs $540, so it's a bit of a chunk to come up with. But wowie zowie!!!! it is worth every penny. And this season, Laura worked out a payment plan with me, so that the cost is spread out over time. Veggie pick up is every week in the Summer, and every other week in the Winter. Here is how they do it: A long table is set up under an awning. both sides of the table are decked with the same selection of boxes. Each of those boxes contains its own particular delicacy. We bring our own bags, and load 'em up. The quantity we are to take is posted on each box, and it works on the honor system. (I have only cheated once, and only by a little...OH! fingerling potatoes, you made a cheat out of me!!) Can you say FRESH? I first realized how UN-fresh grocery store vegetables are by the shelf-life of Laura's vegetables. Tonight I made some kale that I got from a pick-up 2 weeks ago. It is still crisp, dark green and very yummy. Another thing? She offers veggies I would never buy in the store. So along with your normal staples like broccoli, carrots, tomatoes, etc, you also get...Rutabaga? Celeriac? WTF is this shit? I'll tell ya what it is: IT'S FUN! I love trying new veggies I've never tried before, and lest you think those super-cute helpers behind the table are just there to reload the boxes, think again! They know a lot about the food being grown, including how to cook it. Did you know that parsnips are good thin-cut and fried? Neither did I. :) Oh, and I have a new love...something I've never seen in the store, they are long skinny, bright red and super sweet peppers. OH THE JOY!!! This place is a total win!
