The interior is very cute - there was a red checkered tablecloth on our table. Our waitress was super nice and friendly. When we ordered the espresso martini and mentioned we only wanted one to share, she came back with it split into two mini glasses! We've never had that happen before. The french toast was really good, esp. with the lemon curd. I was scraping every last bit of it into my mouth. I'd love to try other menu items next time!

We had a 10:45 reservation but ended up waiting outside on the sidewalk for over 40 minutes. We got a couple of "it'll be soon" updates and one offer to sit at a picnic table on the sidewalk. That wasn't an option for my husband's back. And, by that point, it felt like we'd already had the full sidewalk experience! To add to the frustration, we watched a table that would have fit our party turn over and be given to a group that had arrived well after us. Once seated, things didn't improve much. Our daughter has celiac disease, and after talking through options with our server, she ordered a modified breakfast plate. When it arrived, it had two slices of (gluten-full) toast placed right in the middle. We asked for a remake. While we were waiting someone came over to tell us (firmly) that the kitchen isn't dedicated gluten-free. We fully get that, but that's different from putting bread on top of everything on the plate, especially after we'd already discussed the restriction. As I was saying that, the staff member walked away. The interaction felt more like a lecture than the apology that would've been appropriate. The food overall was okay, but not memorable. My husband said the "special" Bloody Mary was the worst he's ever had--memorable, just not in a good way. On the positive side, the gluten-free coffee cake was excellent, and thankfully the company made the day worthwhile. My guess is there may have been an issue with our reservation. We made it in person previously and it was written in a notebook. When we called to confirm the day before, they initially couldn't find it. It felt like it might not have made it into the system, and they were trying to accommodate on the fly once they realized it. If that's the case, a little transparency upfront would have gone a long way--we would have appreciated the option to adjust our plans rather than end up waiting outside for so long. Overall, this felt like a series of misses and mishandled opportunities to improve the experience. It's also an excellent reminder of why I normally steer clear of dining out on holidays.

Very warm inside - a lot of nice funky seating and a great bar. They have slots/drawers you can tuck your phone to focus on dinner/company. I was curious and I will say... it was absolutely delicious. I do wish it was a little room temperature but it was smooth and flavorful. Crust is a great texture combo. They sell out for a reason... Broccolini was a bomb ass dish. Get this. The toasted sesame seeds.. chefs kiss. I'm putting this on my salads from now on. Duck was a favorite. Very earthy and comforting. Very tender and a good mix with the tomato and starch. Not the usual way I eat duck but I was happy. Sturgeon was probably my favorite. Not really used to eating this type of fish - it was very meaty, not flakey. Almost Filling. Had mussels, clams and squid in the white sauce with toasted bread. Hella shareable. Finished off with the L'Orange cake... they toast it with a crème brûlée ish cardamon topping. Definitely get this. Amazing experience. Will be back soon.

Beautiful restaurant, we really expected a bit of a crowd. We were seated and greeted, waters were provided with menus. We started our meal experience by telling our waiter that we planned to do a progressive dinner down 3rd Street. We were met with a rather disappointed / disheartened response. Their menu was absolutely stunning. Lots of great options. As this was our first stop of the evening, we went for an appetizer. The Albacore Confit absolutely out of this world. Ridiculously good. Huge portion, plated beautifully. Wonderful for the three of us to share. We all raved at how lovely the dish was. Drinks were absolutely fabulous. Gin martini was SOLID. My partner didn't care for his wine but it was a first-time try, that isn't the fault of the restaurant. The Dolores O'Riordan martini was absolutely wonderful. The bar was timely with drinks, which is always appreciated. Overall, ambiance, food, and drink were AMAZING! Absolutely a 5-star experience. However, service just did not slap. We could have survived with the disheartened response at us only staying for one-course but the end of our time with Grounded Table kinda kicked us all in the butt. As they handed me the check, we were met with "We hope you can join us for an entire meal sometime". The inflection was just catty and unnecessary. Trying to look past it, I continued to complete the check but after they departed the table, my dinner-mates both whispered under their breath "that did not just happen, how rude!" Meh, this could hae been the easiest 5-star review ever. The attitude of our server kinda blew the entire experience, the comment was unnecessary.

The food is beautiful and artfully presented, but still approachable and unpretentious. The shrimp toast seems to be a standby, and is one of my faves. On a former visit, we enjoyed a duck for two dish that was perfectly prepared and so good. All of the snacks are tasty nibbles that set the tone for the meal, and the pastas are simply sumptuous. The wine list, of course, truly shines. This is a place where you can ask your server for recommendations for wines to pair with your meal, and you know you're going to get great recommendations. The interior dining space is larger than it looks from the outside, and the vibe is perfect for date nights, after work hangs, and girls' nights out. I've also always seen at least one family with children when I've dined here, so I like that they are welcoming of families. I basically chilled in my room after checking in and took the time to relax before my reservation. I walked over from my hotel which took under 10 minutes. The perfect amount of time to work up an appetite. The last time I was here, I did the tasting menu with a couple of friends. This time around I was by myself which meant it was less food. I chose the seat at the very corner of the bar. I had a full view of the kitchen and the chaos. Plates of food came flying down my corner. I went in so hard in the beginning and crashed so hard at the end. I couldn't hang by the last one, but saved room for the dessert. They ended up wrapping my leftovers along with the snacks I didn't finish. I went to town on all the food the following morning. Just like last time, the dish that stood out the most was the pasta dish. One of the servers caught me mid shimmy after I took the first bite. I have to mention how amazing the service was. I'm always impressed when a busy kitchen staff has their shit together. It's poetry in motion. How they don't crash into each other when so much is happening. Every person who dropped by my corner was so nice and friendly. Most importantly, I didn't feel rushed. The post meal calamansi treat was a nice touch. It woke my senses. I'm glad I had dinner early. By the time I was finishing up, more patrons were checking in for their reservations. I walked back to my hotel with my bag of leftovers and a j to enjoy on my stroll to end a fabulous Friday. See you again next time.

It was good but definitely overpriced for what it is. You can tell the bagel is not a normal bagel, I think it was gluten free or something? That didn't bother me at all but just be aware of that. Also, the smoked salmon was not like typical lox, you can see in the picture that it's more flakey, more like cooked salmon with smoked flavor. I also got the muffin in the picture. It was a little dry/not fresh tasting, even after I asked them to heat it up. It definitely has a healthy/homemade taste, probably that it was made with some type of wheat or oat flour. I also got the oat chia pudding to go (not pictured) and it was good too, still on the pricey side but at least the portion isn't tiny. Overall, the ambiance is nice for a cute brunch and I like that they supposedly use clean ingredients (no seed oils and refined sugar).
