A great salesperson makes one feel confidence in the outcome as well as enjoyment during the purchasing process, and that's Sumi Douglass. As great as the experience was with tire-kicking, choosing, and buying, I have to give some positives to their installation folks. They did everything they were supposed to do, and they did it in difficult circumstances (such as taking the old tub out and putting the new tub in during a long trip around the house, going uphill part way). Friendly. Communicative. Efficient. Our spa servicing guy had recommended West Coast, and he was one hundred percent right on. It's not the cheapest, but it's also not the most expensive; he told us that these were the people he'd be buying from if he were in the market. What West Coast is: the best value for your money.

Stopped by the Pool & Spa House to see how bad the damage could be and what I would need to do to fix it. Can I just say that Don was the greatest. He totally eased my fears and told me that hot tubs frequently get pin hole leaks in some of the joints and fittings. He even took me over to some of their systems on display to demonstrate where and what to look for in determining the type of leak. The best part was his recommendation of a product called "Fix a Leak" and how to apply it to my system. With one bottle and little expert instruction from Don, I fixed my hot tub in no time and it barely cost me any blood, sweat and tears as I had feared it might. Thanks Don!

We use it several times a week, it is amazing to use sun, rain or our favorite when it is snowing I frequently stop here to get my supplies for managing the spa. The employees are always helpful and friendly when we come in. As a Marquis owner we also get a discount on supplies which always beats Amazon. The employees I always notice when helping customers are not pushy and very respectful of the folks looking. Getting a spa is life changing and requires regular maintenance too. It is not something you can just toss in place and expect to work. But with weekly attention it stays clean and ready to use for a few minutes of maintenance. I appreciate all the help we have received from the store and their service department. The spa is great and we will enjoy it for many years to come.

I purchased a Marquis hot tub a little over four years ago, only to learn that the model has…read morealready been discontinued. I was never informed that this would happen, and as a result, essential replacement filters are no longer available. Within the first two years of ownership, I was also required to replace both the pump and the control panel, incurring approximately $300 in service call fees alone, not including the cost of the parts themselves. Now that critical replacement filters can no longer be obtained, I've concluded that it is no longer financially reasonable to continue investing in this unit. Before reaching that decision, I contacted Marquis to inquire about purchasing a replacement cover. Because this is a single-person hot tub with a unique shape, it requires a custom-fit cover. I was quoted $600 for a cover that Marquis already has in its warehouse. When I asked whether the price could be reduced given that the model has been discontinued after such a short time, I was told the quote already reflected a $200 "discount." For a product discontinued just four years after purchase--especially one for which essential parts are no longer supported--this response feels unreasonable and deeply disappointing.

We were trying to purchase a hot tub for about a year. We had visited various places, looked at…read morevarious brands and kept coming back here. The quality of the hot tubs, the professional attitudes of Dustin and Nick and the warranty all contributed to us purchasing a J-345 from them. The purchase of the hot tub was fairly simple, they presented options for us, went through the warranty, how to setup the water, the site, electrical, etc. We never once felt pressured to buy a tub at all -- which is unlike some others I won't name. The warranty on these tubs seems to out class anything else in the area as well. This bodes well with me since it usually translates to a quality product. Jacuzzi has been around for years, so the name already has a sense of trust. What struck me the most was how professional they were AFTER we purchased our tub. Still bending over backwards to make sure we were happy, calling to check in to see if we had any questions and giving tips when new things came up. Would definitely recommend them to anyone that is interested in a quality hot tub.

I do not recommend The Pool & Spa House for pool maintenance, repair, or product sales. Despite…read moretheir many retail locations, their knowledge of pool equipment and proper maintenance is extremely limited, and they frequently recommend unnecessary services and expensive replacements. We used them for years simply because we didn't know better. One of our earliest red flags should have been when we hired them to balance our water. Two days later, the pool was completely cloudy and burned everyone's eyes. I watched the technician pour in gallons of muriatic acid -- something I now know will crash pH to unsafe levels. That was our first clue that they were not the experts they claimed to be. We continued using them, even replacing an expensive piece of equipment at their recommendation. But the final straw was when our heater stopped working and displayed a "lo flow" error. Hayward heaters can throw that error for many reasons -- up to 13 different causes -- yet the technician didn't even check the heater. He took one quick visual look around and immediately tried to convince me that I needed to replace the sand in our filter, which costs thousands of dollars. When I repeatedly asked him to actually inspect the heater (the actual equipment with the error), he reluctantly opened it, said he "didn't see anything wrong," and then became rude, aggressive, and defensive about his "years of experience." After he left, we called another company. They found the real issue in minutes: the flow switch simply needed adjustment. If I had listened to the Pool & Spa House tech, I would have spent thousands of dollars and still had a broken heater. Their retail stores are also extremely predatory. They refuse to sell basic pool chemicals unless you provide your full address and personal information -- something they claim is "policy," even though it's not required by any state or federal regulation. It's simply for tracking and upselling. I still tried to buy from them to support local business, but even when I tried to buy stabilizer they argued with me about the amount I wanted, tried to push additional products I didn't need, and eventually refused to sell to me when I declined to give my address. People should know: you don't need all the specialized products they push. You can easily maintain your own pool using the Trouble Free Pool method with basic chemicals like borax, muriatic acid, chlorine, and baking soda -- all available at local locations that carry pool supplies like Ace Hardware in Happy Valley and Milwaukie for much less. What you do need is a company that can diagnose equipment issues correctly and honestly. For that, go to Classic Pool Spa & Hearth. Their technicians actually know what they're doing, they don't upsell, and they've saved us money and unnecessary repairs. I will say the people who answer the service line at The Pool & Spa House are very kind -- but unfortunately, kindness doesn't make up for poor training, aggressive sales tactics, and inaccurate technical advice.
