Started out great . . . We decided our house and our old arthritic selves needed a hot tub. So we did some shopping. Found an amazing deal at Classic but that has been the only amazing part of this. After finally getting the pad put down and electric run to the tub we were set to fill it and enjoy. Nope Fire it up, test water, adjust the chemistry only to have it shut off and throw error codes. Fine, call and get service out to see what's up. Gent who came out was super knowledgeable and thorough in going through everything to be sure what was wrong. This is where I am now stuck and angry. The main pump is seized from rust. Rust from where? Sitting in the showroom for 2 yrs. That would not be a big deal IF I was not now being asked to buy the new pump for $670.00. Why? It's not under warranty after 2 yrs. From the get go we were lied to. Told we were getting a discount because my partner is a Vet. Wrong, it was to move an old floor model. We were told it had a custom top. Another lie, the top we were given is two+ inches too big all the way around. I was told by service that someone was supposed to show us how to do chemistry for it, never happened or spoken about. Now I am sitting here with a tub that does not work, expected to pay for a new pump or have a useless hot tub. I don't care about buying a floor model. If they would have said it was a 2+yr old floor model I would have said test it first or deeper discount. What really makes it all worse is the lies. It's a crap business conduct, it results in customers that go elsewhere not 'customers for life' like their site says. I will update if/when I get resolution. UPDATE: pump is ordered on the shops dime. Just waiting for it to show up. Cover supposedly has been ordered to replace the one that is way too big. Still not a hot tub yet but working that way. Really thinking I am going to find some place else to service when this is all done. read more

Riley came out to repair our Coleman/Maxx Hot Tub and did an excellent job of making sure the hot tub was in good working order. He did determine we needed a new front panel. We bought this spa from them in 2009, so after 15 years it still runs like new. Riley also brought us Baqua chemicals that we needed. Unbelievable!! If I could rate my experience any lower, I would!! Drove over here from the east side because their east side store just moved and was in shambles the last time we looked there (in their defense, they were moving). Wanted to buy a fireplace insert and was ready to write the check today. First off, arrived needing to use the restroom. Asked one of the two employees if there was one we could use. He responded "no" and turned his back on me. We left to use facilities up the street. When we came back I told the guy at the counter we wanted to discuss fireplace inserts. Even though I'd spoken with him before he sidestepped me and took a phone call after handing me over to the no bathroom guy. Now, in a laughing tone I'm told "I can sell you a diy install because we have no installers". I'm shocked because the first time I was in the store I was told it was about a 5 week lead time. Calling that out I'm told there were no installers when I came in the previous time. Wtf!? The fact that he was laughing about it made my blood boil. This is by far the worst customer interaction I've had in recent memory. I can't believe an owner would allow this kind of behavior. I would think when your store can't deliver a hot tub for 12 months and can't install a fireplace insert, 2 of your PRIMARY PRODUCTS, customer service would be a main emphasis. I went in to the shop and a gentleman there was really nice and helpful. I told him we'd like to have someone come out on a Saturday to give us an estimate he said that shouldn't be a problem and took my info to have someone call us to schedule an appointment. When they called the lady seemed flustered and me asking for a Saturday appointment. I didn't want her head to explode so I said I can have someone there on a weekday but she said she will check with the contractor and call me back. That was 3 weeks ago and no call back. If I could give a zero star review I would. They seemed nice enough when we walked in and willing to work with us, but I got a vibe that we we low class in the gentleman's opinion. We made an appointment for him to come out an review our placement, etc and he cancelled not once but twice and in the 3rd appointment he was supposed to call us when he was on his way and crickets. Our old hot tub died so called a few dealers to get prices and availability of a new tub. Ron at at the Gladstone store had just what we were looking for. He took care of everything to make the transaction very smooth. From the date of failure to new one installed and using it was one week. Very pleased with the whole transaction. The delivery guys did an excellent job of removal and placement of the new tub. They took all the old busted and rotted boards. Would highly recommend Ron and Classic Pool Spa and Hearth. read more

I'm shocked by the one-star reviews here - we have a replastered in ground pool (done by a third party) and have been learning all about pool maintenance and water balancing all summer, now we are learning about closing procedures now that it's getting cold. 75% of what we've learned the last 6 months has been from these folks - they are SO helpful and informative- always willing to test our water and explain how things work. They never make me feel bad for asking a million questions (because I like to know how it all works) and they don't try to sell us stuff we don't need. Will continue to be my go-to pool supply store! read more

They test your water for free and explain in detail what you need. I brought my spa filters in to replace them and they said I didn't need to replace them yet that they were still in good shape. They are always friendly and helpful. read more

STAY AWAY. We ordered a $10k pool on a Friday. Was told it would get ordered the following Monday. While I have no proof this happened, I suspect it got forgotten about. We called after the pool was supposed to be in and were given some excuse that the manufacturer was closed for inventory. Right. A pool company closing for inventory in the summer. They then told us it would be in the next week. Here it is the next week and now they claim it's yet another two weeks because a part is not in stock. I canceled the order. Will never do business with them again. More to come on whether they refund my down payment in a timely manner. read more

Very unpleasant experience. Someone from the service department came to try and fix my pool heater. He arrived and spent maybe 30 minutes trying to figure out why my heater wouldn't turn on. He told me he had "no idea" what was wrong and he would get back to me. 2 weeks later I called the office and spoke to Jessica. She had quite a sassy mouth and was very rude. She then said she "didn't know what was wrong" and would research and get back to me. Another week went by and I called again, she still had "no idea". I then received a bill for $169 as well as an estimate for something that "MIGHT" be the problem, which was an additional $309. She didn't guarantee it would fix the problem. She sat there and talked down to me for 5 minutes and interrupted me when I tried to explain or ask additional questions. I will never return to this store or call with any pool related problems, questions or purchases. I was charged $169 to be told "we don't know what's wrong." read more

I had to give one star to post or else i would have put minus 10 stars!! we were very dissatisfied with our fireplace insert and they did nothing to correct the problem. I even emailed the owner for help and he sent me back to where I started from. 5 months later and we still have to look at what a crappy job they did everyday. we kept going in asking them to at least remove it then and were willing to pay the restocking fee that's how bad it was. and they threatened to send the remaining bill to collections! Such a HUGE disappointment! I should have know not to get my fireplace insert form a pool and spa place. we ended up paying almost 4000$ and now I am going to have to turn around and pay someone to get it out of there. read more

Worst pool company ever. I needed our current pool heater inspected and advice given on what kind of shape it was in. I called Classic Pools to make an appointment and one was scheduled two weeks out. The day of the inspection they never showed. I called to inquire where they were or if there was a mix-up. The guy I scheduled the appointment with gave me no explanation and began to ask my what I needed and wanted them to do at the site... TWO WEEKS AFTER OUR INITIAL CONVERSATION AND THE MORNING OF THE SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT!!! Needless to say our business with one another ended there. ...or so I thought. Today I received one of their cheap newsletters in the mail. This would not be an issue normally. I would just toss it in the recycling (or use it in the fireplace) except I noticed something interesting on the auto-printed label. Along with my name and address, they had apparently added an internal note that read, "Do not work with this customer". So they auto-print labels that include internal notes and info. Unbelievable. They act like idiots, flag a client that calls them out for it and then continue to send that client promo material! These guys are the most unprofessional, unorganized outfit I've ever had the displeasure of working with. I would suggest to ANYONE that they not contact this company and stay as far away as possible. Apollo Pools is a class act. Use them and you won't be disappointed like you will with these jokers. read more

Do Not Use! The only reason we're giving one star is because we should have been smart enough to NOT purchase a gas fire place from a business whose primary source of business is pools and spas (which we'd highly doubt is any better service). Shame on us for making that decision but regardless this has been the worst experience with contractors, customer service, and general business that we have ever encountered. They gave horrible customer service which caused more grief then necessary during the time we had to deal with this company. They did not return phone calls when messages were left, and they did not call back when they said they would. They knew BOTH times we had to deal with them that we were having a horrible experience and yet they have never bothered to follow up to ensure their contractors took care of everything for them. Our initial installation took several weeks between the installer and inspector coming back and forth to the house, not agreeing on meeting codes. The installer actually asked us to print out a manual for the fire place so he could figure out how to install it. One of the days, the installer was 3 hours late without giving us a phone call. Another day the installer did not bring all the materials to do the installation so had to schedule another day. After the installation we had to take another day out of our schedule so we could have a professional carpet cleaner come to the house because of the mess that was left from the installation. During this entire time, several calls were made to the home office with no response. The installation was almost a year ago. Now we just had to deal with them again because our fire place was not working. We made a phone call to request someone to come take a look at our fire place since it was not working, and we were told that we'd get a call back to schedule an appointment. After at least 4 more phone calls to them, and over a week of having to convince them that it was NOT because we couldn't light the pilot light. We've never been treated like bigger idiots in our lives. Finally they sent someone out to the house and determined a part was broken. Once that part was fixed they realized that the initial installation was done so badly that the vent was bent and wasn't allowing proper air flow. They had to re-install the entire thing again, and we were told that this was a very busy time for them so they'd do their best to "fit" us in the schedule as long as we were flexible on time. This entire process to over a month. We appreciate them actually fixing it but the amount of time between phone calls and house visits, and the lack of respect they gave to us by not returning calls, following up, or showing any sign of concern for the work/service they provided to us was unappreciated. We will never use their services again nor recommend anyone we know to use their services. read more

Unfortunately I have to give this place a bad review. Everyone seems nice enough, but the management seems to be incompetent. We bought a pool cover from them (which actually was fine) but the purchase included a pool opening. Over a five week period they must have come out five or six times, each time saying they needed to come back in a couple days to finish, but then didn't come back and didn't return calls until the pool had gone green again. Then the next guy came and the process started over, for literally five weeks during prime spring pool use weather. By the end it was left with the latest algae bloom flocculated to the bottom of the pool, never vacuumed out, and with no chemicals. I had to go buy all the chemicals myself to stabilize it and try to vacuum it out myself, which I wasn't able to get right. Since they don't return calls I don't know if they were planning on coming out again or not but no one has ever appeared to finish the work. I am just going to hire another company to come finish opening the pool and ask for a refund, although I have no idea if I'll get it because they don't return calls and are always away during the day. Hopefully it doesn't become a small claims court issue. As I said, it's too bad they can't get more organized because everyone here really is very nice. Maybe they are just way overloaded. But the end result is that the service is over the edge of anything nearing being acceptable and I wouldn't recommend their service to anyone. read more

BEWARE!!!! We just had a motor replaced in our hot tub... I wish I would have read all the reviews on this place first! We thought it was going to be a simple seal replacement, however as soon as the technician arrived, and before inspecting the unit, he did tell us that we would most likely need to replace the entire motor. While he was inspecting the unit I looked online to get an idea of cost of the identical unit they would actually be installing. Online cost: $237.95 .. their cost to me? $489.95 An over 200% markup. I expect an upcharge on equipment, but 200+%? MORE SERIOUS ISSUE: a few weeks ago their electrician charged us $224 to replace a gfi head on the power cord which was broken during a recent move. During the above mentioned motor replacement debacle, we discovered that the 'new' head he installed was broken and called him to request that he return and replace it with an undamaged one. He denied the unit was broken & asked us to send pictures to prove it, which we did. Never heard another word from him after that and he hasn't responded to any further communication. A broken electrical head at a hot tub .... sound really, really, dangerous to you? Personally I would be terrified of the potential liability of knowingly leaving an electrical component in that condition near water. When I called the Classic office to alert them of the problem, they simply said he was a sub contractor and therefore there was nothing they could do. I have learned about the Oregon CCB and how they can help however. 9/30: update to above - I finally received a callback and he repaired the head today. read more

I have an above ground pool and not very good at getting the balance correct, these guys are absolutely awesome and super helpful. I have worked with a couple of different people, and I am sorry I don't remember the names but I primarily have had the pleasure of working with Tim. He and the others are always very helpful when I bring in my water sample and take the time to explain what is off and the best way to go about fixing it and getting it right. One thing I appreciate the most is that they never pressure you to buy any products from them, which makes me only want to buy from them. It has paid off every time and truly appreciate the knowledge and the time they are willing to take to explain what is going on and the best way to fix it. Sunday my pool looked like a swamp, spoke with Tim and after he went over my water sample he took the time to show me what we needed, two days later my pool is perfect!
