Baked clams
Kim N.

We dined here with our friends who are getting married at Westbury Manor in the fall. Dim lighting and lively music really set a wedding vibe! We started off with an order of baked clams and burrata. delicious! For my meal I had the truffle gnocchi. Wow. So fresh and delicious! We ended the night with cremé burgled and the apple crumb. Also awesome!

The Polo lounge at Westbury Manor is just like walking back into time to at least the 1940s. A Beautiful old quaint, inviting, warm, friendly restaurant with the most comforting atmosphere as well as the most delicious food you'll ever be served! All the wait staff and the restaurant staff are flawless and their service is impeccable! They always make you feel welcome and like it's your second home. To me I hope that when I get to heaven it looks like the Polo lounge, Not Kidding. They're all booths no tables and there are those beautiful red booths with wood trim that go in really deep and are really comfy to sit in. The waiters make many of the dishes on the side of your table including some of the salads and do it the old-fashioned way like Caesar salad. The bar is huge and it's round. Mikey the bartender is Always smiling and remembers everyone's name. He is the best. Francesco is the maître d' but he runs that restaurant with a fine tooth comb and there's nothing in that restaurant that he doesn't or won't do. He works harder than anyone there. He's got a dynamite personality and all the people that go there to eat love him and always look for him when they come in. He's incredibly accommodating and personable. The desserts are all homemade in the kitchen. They're really good about improvising if you would like some changes made on the menu. My favorite is the mixed wild mushrooms that I have with pasta. And for a salad I'll have some fresh mozzarella with tomato. they have a lovely happy hour and live music always including a pianist 5 days a week starting at 6 o'clock. They're closed on Sundays and Mondays. If you haven't tried the Polo lounge restaurant yet you must try it at some point. find a reason you won't be disappointed

The kids' menu is great, which is always a big plus for families. The arugula salad is also delicious, and if you get the chance to try the butternut squash ravioli when they have it, definitely do, it's one of my favorites. Overall, a great spot for a family meal with a nice variety of options.

The restaurant has a beautiful, bright, modern atmosphere that feels much more upscale than its surroundings. Based on other reviews, the standout dishes seemed to be the grilled Spanish octopus and the SB Smash Burger, so I ordered both. Unfortunately, the execution fell short in several areas. The East Coast oysters arrived with mignonette but without horseradish or oyster forks--small details, but noticeable oversights. The oysters, octopus, and burger were all tasty, but the presentation of octopus and burger was surprisingly sloppy, as though little attention had been paid when the dishes left the kitchen. The bar also was understaffed. A single bartender was serving both the bar and the entire dining room, which led to waits for drinks. My bartender was friendly, attentive, and worked hard, but one person simply wasn't enough. I finished with the Key Lime Custard, which had what appeared to be a layer of shredded cereal on the bottom. I wasn't sure what it was. The dessert itself was enjoyable, though I think a base of toasted sliced almonds with a few fried blueberries on top of it would have added better texture and complemented the flavors more effectively. One nice perk is the validated valet parking, for a reduced fee, which makes arriving and leaving especially convenient given the mall location. The whiskey selection could also be improved by adding a few more interesting, off-the-beaten-path single malts or blends. Overall, the kitchen shows promise! And perhaps I came on an off night. With better attention to presentation, appropriate bar staffing, and a more adventurous choice of spirits, Small Batch could deliver an experience that better matches its reputation.

Overall we had a great time at the restaurant. The service was great, our waitor was friendly, and the food came out in great time. I honestly didn't love how I had to leave the restaurant in order to find a bathroom and I didn't love how I got a little lost but it was a small factor compared to the rest of the meal. The food was great. The everything was perfect, and the ingredients were fresh and delicious. I can't really see myself coming back anytime soon due to scheduling reasons as well as location but if I happen to be at this particular mall again, I would love to come back.

Normally, I don't start a review on a negative but after we left and counting up all the missteps, I felt off. My wife is more forgiving, she liked the Frito Misto and Bolognese. It's hard to believe this was a BBQ spot a few years ago. The glass garage door is still in place, back in the day it was enjoyable during the spring. There's a reason why it's called Sparrow Cocktails. I ordered the Smoked Old Fashioned. Made with Angel's Envy Bourbon and wood smoked chips, this was a great cocktail before dinner. The Frito Misto had a delicate coating, it wasn't overly battered. The green dipping sauce served on the side was bland. It didn't add to the dish and was thin. The Malfalde Bolognese was a hearty portion, we were able to share this large dish between the two of us. Made with beef, veal and pork and simmered in San Marzono tomatoes, this entree satisfies all my pasta cravings. I was looking for some grated cheese, none was offered.. The Back Sea Bass special, IMHO we should have passed. My wife asked about bones and was told they de-bone the fish table side. What was served to us was a fish that was cooked well but was full of small pin bones. We passed on dessert, it was time to go. an expensive meal that doesn't warrant a return visit.

Having made a reservation, we were promptly seated by the hostess, who greeted us warmly at the entrance. We were immediately struck by the beauty and elegance of the bar. The entire restaurant is classy, elegant, and beautifully decorated. For appetizers, we ordered the bread and baked clams, which were delicious. Next, we shared a pasta dish, Cacio e Pepe, which we both thought was bland. Our entrées consisted of eggplant Parmesan and chicken Parmesan, accompanied by a side of broccoli. Everything was perfectly prepared and flavorful, but the tomato sauce was especially delicious. For dessert, we ordered chocolate gelato and espresso, which made for a thoroughly satisfying finish to our meal. The service was excellent, attentive, and responsive to our needs. Most notably, our water glasses were continually refilled without our having to ask. Overall, we greatly enjoyed our visit and look forward to returning to try some of the other entrées, which all looked excellent. Yelp gives the restaurant four stars, and I agree. However, I would rate it four dollar signs ($$$$) rather than three ($$$), as the meal was quite expensive--even with the gift certificate helping to offset the cost. All in all, it was an excellent dining experience, and we look forward to going back again for a special occasion!

And honestly, the food is just not good. Nothing stood out, nothing worth waiting an hour for, and definitely not worth the price. And the thing is... if they were busy, I'd honestly be like "okay, fine, it happens." But I was literally 1/3 tables in the whole place. Hard to give any grace when it's that empty and still this bad!!! When it's finally Friday and you're excited for dinner out... this ain't it!!! No wonder OpenTable offered me 1000 points to come here lol. Update: We were so over it that we asked for the dessert (included with the prix fixe) to go. Ended up eating it at home in sweats and that was actually the best part of the whole night. The s'mores cookie skillet wasn't bad. So yeah... 2 stars instead of 1 and both of those stars belong to the cookie!!!
