If you've seen the movie, this experience is the closest thing to a live action version! Doors open one hour before the show, and parking is free which is a great bonus. Arriving early is highly recommended so you can pick up your tickets, visit the restroom, explore the old railroad tracks, browse the gift shop, snap some photos by the Christmas tree, and even write a letter to Santa. When booking, aim for seats toward the middle of the train car. That's where most of the action happens, including the singing, dancing, and monologues. Don't forget to treat yourself to some hot chocolate and a tasty snack to complete the festive experience! One downside is that the windows are covered, so you miss out on any scenic views, leaving you with just the sensation of the train moving back and forth. Other than that, my kids absolutely loved it! It's a magical experience for families, especially during the holiday season.

Took the kids here and they had a ball it was fun and the hot chocolate was oh so good and the people here are amazing

Such a fun experience! I'd recommend this to everyone! This interactive train ride performance experience was so fun and immersive. We really enjoyed the performers, the hot chocolate, and the biscuits. This is great for kids and families.

Could not recommend this enough! We booked a daytime experience, I was a little unsure if it would be less magical, but I assure you it was not! It was amazing for adults and children alike. Every moment was special, there was never a second where you were not entertained. The cast were amazing, the hot chocolate and cookies were great, and the experience itself was everything we had hoped for and more! Every detail was so thoughtful, from the bells being engraved to the name on the cups of hot chocolate. The youngest in our party was turning 2, and the oldest is of the elder persuasion. I could not recommend this enough, we are all looking forward to hopefully coming back next year!

They actually read the entire book to the children on the train. Very interactive.

Outstanding presentation. The entire program kept true to the storyline. All of the cast and employees were extremely polite and did everything they could to involve all children. The train was nicely decorated, and all of the actors were very believable. The conductor and Santa Claus did outstanding as did the individual host in our car arctic circle. I would highly recommend going, and it's well worth making a family tradition.

Five out of five stars. Honestly I would do more if I could. If you are a fan of Polar Express this is a must see for you. I don't want to give too much away because the surprise of the experience is a huge part of the enjoyment. Ticket purchases online were easy. Parking at the location is ample. It's recommended you arrive early to have time to enjoy the area prior to boarding. There's a gift shop to peruse offering PE items at reasonable prices. If you're hungry this is the spot to pick up snacks. You then have time to enjoy the grounds which contains various types of train and rail artifacts. It was fun to play with the signal lights. While waiting to board you will have time for many pics and the opportunity to write a letter to Santa. Soon after, you're waiting to board. You're welcomed aboard by the conductor who has a surprising resemblance to the original animated version. A few moments later you find yourself boarding. This is where the magic begins. You're provided with a genuinely unforgettable train ride and journey. The rest you have to partake in yourself. I truly enjoyed this and experience and recommend it to all PE fans. I'm looking forward to boarding again in the future.

The most amazing experience. Comparing to friends it seems superior to the one in AZ 10/10 would go again and again

Ask the Community - The Polar Express

Is this a good activity for a 3 year old?

I would say so! I took my 4 and 8 year olds and they both equally loved it 😊

How is the seating? Is it better to sit closer to front?

Near the center of the car seems to be the best. They do a lot of the skits there in an open space. But they do walk up and down the aisle performing and they are good to interact with everyone.

I have to share how impressed I was with the event from beginning to end. The JROTC or other military program was there volunteering their time to put on this event. When boarding the trains, they asked if I needed assistance with Tristan's wheelchair and getting him on the train. They also asked if we needed a quieter cab because Tristan has Autism. This made us feel extremely welcomed because my son and Godson both have Autism. It was not only inclusive but equitable. There was also plenty of handicap parking when entering. Have your placard up so they know where to direct you. The entrance fee includes a ride with Thomas and is $30.85 per person. If you'd like, you can also ride Percy for an extra $10. Of course we rode both. This event is not super large and it wasn't overly crowded. That could've been due to the rain. They do allow outside food and drinks in which helps with cost. The only suggestions I'd make is to offer more seating areas. Seating seemed to be limited even with the small crowd. Another suggestion would be to have a quiet tent for kiddos to wind down in. They had games, a hay maze, bouncers, dance tent, infant changing tent, access to the museums, opportunities to ride, photo opportunities, the museum guest shop, the Thomas guest shop, and food vendors. If your children love trains, definitely take them. Next week is the last week for Thomas and he won't be back until next year.

They have planes outside and a memorial for all the veterans. Upon entering you pay $18 per adult, $10 per child and toddlers are free. They had a scavenger hunt going on for the kids so that was super exciting. The upstairs area was closed and the events hall was also closed for an event. The employees were so nice and even gave us clues about the scavenger hunt. There's lots of cool places for photos and a coloring section inside the NASA area. We got candies in the 25 cent machines, dropped coins in the donation funnel and bought toys at the gift shop. We turned in our finished scavenger hunt and got slinkies. Outside there's a massive exhibit of different aircrafts used in different wars from all around the world. There's a radio museum outside as well. Overall we had such an amazing time. What a great way to learn. I highly recommend it to anyone.

If you purchase Metrolink tickets you can take the bus free and get dropped off right in front of Disneyland. The bus I took was the blue Art bus #15 ( Check the Away-We-Go app). Future trips can also be purchased at the Kiosk only. This means you can buy a ticket for the next day, board the bus for free, and get back on the train. This train was clean and not crowded. It didn't smell. I have fragrance / chemical sensitivity so I feel that's important to mention. There was plenty of parking and really friendly people. I highly recommend using the Metrolink app to live track any transfer trains and know which platform to stand on. Best of all the ride is fun and you don't have to be stuck in freeway traffic. If you are going to Disneyland, you can also head to the Anaheim Canyon station but Artic station was nice with plenty of security and it connects to Amtrak trains and other bus services.
