The service was polite, but a bit slow and we waited a while before our food arrived. There was only one person who was serving the entire afternoon tea area, so it's understandable that there's a longer wait. The coconut syrup is one of Mostra's signature touches--and honestly one of the main reasons I go--so that was a letdown. And a coffee shop without any pastries or baked goods felt a bit unusual. I still like Mostra as a brand, but this experience didn't reflect what I've come to expect. I'd recommend either stocking key items consistently or adjusting weekend operations if supply is limited. I also grabbed a breakfast burrito from their fridge and they heat it up after purchase. It was a bit pricey for a refrigerated burrito ($11). The Açaí bowl was refreshing. They also offer coffee cubes instead of ice (love it), but there's an additional .50 charge per cup and the barista didn't mention it when ordering. I noticed the charge after reviewing the receipt. I'd recommend The Liquid Bean when in the Del Mar area.
