Cozy spot! Stopped in for lunch and discovered the best pancakes ever. I got the chocolate chip pancakes which honestly blew my mind. With house made butter that was to die for! My boyfriend had a juicy and delicious burger, with some of the best fries ever. Comfort food heaven. The point was perfect! Kind staff, cozy inside and good food. No complaints here. read more

Absolutely one of the best stops on my visit to Boston. Great bartenders, food, and location. I had the pleasure of meeting Cara, the newest bartender at the Point. She was drinking out of a fire hose, but never lost her cool. I was one of the super lucky few chosen to try several entrees that had been prepared for photos. The pork taco bowl was absolutely my favorite and I HIGHLY recommend that it appears on the permanent menu. The bar is clean and offers full service. Sam Adams on tap, of course, is my favorite in Boston - can't get any fresher. Stop in on your trip down the freedom trail and get something to quench your thirst. read more

Awesome service. Server guy with mullet from CA was sooo nice. Very low key and they let you sit and relax without feeling the pressure to order soon which I appreciate. Very accommodating to needs as you can see we got a half and half pizza and asked for some ingredients on the side. The pizza was great, but the salad I wouldn't order again. It was ok, I think they need to work on the ingredients just a bit as it felt like something was off. The olives were pizza olives, not Kalamata Olives and the dressing was thick not vinaigrette. We stopped in for the loaded Bloody Mary mid morning (which was delicious)and saw people eating and decided to come back for dinner. The Caesar Cobb was really good with plenty of bacon, avocado and hard boiled egg. The fish and chips were lightly breaded with good flavor. The waitress was friendly and efficient. I have stopped in here twice now, each time I have been here. I have been greater in a friendly manner. Stopping in here never seems to be a huge wait. They seem to find a way to make the seating work for the customers they are serving. Pleasant staff and a delicious menu! Did not have a good experience here on a weekend night. Management does not know what's going on and bouncers are very handsy especially with women. Came here for a registered party and the hosts of the party were not even allowed upstairs or able to have a conversation with the people that run this place about the issues happening during the party. Owners were gaslighting them, acting like they never had email conversations with the hosts of the party initially. Definitely not coming back here and would not recommend it to people I know. Wish I could give 0 stars read more

This is our first time to Boston, and our last night here before we fly back to California tomorrow. We were looking for a place that had the Monday night football game on with the sound on, and decided to go into The Point. Sooo happy we did.. we went upstairs and nothing but Bears fans enjoying the game! The atmosphere was so fun! Maria the bartender was awesome. The place was packed and she didnt skip a beat. We sat at the bar, and not one person had to wait on a drink. She was on it. So happy we stopped here! We can't wait to plan another trip to Boston. We will be back!! Thank you Maria! read more

Great service. Friendly staff - they were very accommodating to my gluten allergy. Amazing food. Don't leave without having the clam chowder. I'd highly recommend the warm winter salad. We stopped in while on holiday and this left over salad was just as good if not better cold for breakfast. Location is perfect. read more

I don't often write reviews on Yelp. But let me tell you, the staff were some of the NICEST period! One of the waiters beckoned me inside, when it was drizzling out. A lot of restaurants in Boston claim to have the best CHOWDAH but The Point may ACTUALLY have the best chowder! It had a nice little kick to it, not exactly sure what it was. They have a fantastic food menu as well, and can even get pancakes there. I wrote on the check even how fantastic their staff were. Honestly they are flying under the radar a bit in an otherwise very busy area of Boston. I am coming back 100! read more

Seriously the coolest bar/pub in Boston. We came here for the first time for a fundraising event. They have great beer on tap and Downeast cider! Also, they have the BEST ESPRESSO MARTINI IN BOSTON!!! There, I said it. Great pizza and bites. Such a quaint area of old Boston, with cobblestone streets. The Point is my favorite bar in downtown Boston. I frequent the Tuesday night comedy open mic, and the food and drinks are awesome. Taco Tuesday can't be beat, and the bartender Sam makes this awesome space an incredibly welcoming room. She is kind, attentive, and makes everyone feel like a regular. Great little bar that we stumbled into after dinner in the north end. Staff was super friendly and the live music they had was top notch and engaging. Fast forward I asked for a manager right away because at this point we were being accused of "not paying" from not just 1 but THREE different bartenders at different times. After waiting another 20 mins for the manager to come out after watching the tapes, our bartender came right back out and took ALL the money we handed him out of the tip jar... he knew exactly where he stashed it... The manager came out and apologized saying that it's her best bartender and he would never do such thing. And you know what, he might be and it could've been an innocent mistake, but accusing us of not paying and then taking the money out of the tip jar while he looks shakey and shitting his pants...I would say it wasn't and that he did it on purpose. So looks like I will never give business to Cask N' Flagon and I hope everyone pays close attention when paying tabs anywhere!!! Being accused of not paying a tab from 3 different bartenders is disrespectful and very low of a big company.

I don't see the point in coming to The Point. This review is regarding the after midnight atmosphere, I don't know what it's like during the day. For a $10 cover charge, all you get is a super crowded bar and a mediocre band playing cover tunes. I felt too old and sober to enjoy this place. The vast majority of the crowd looked like college students who don't mind going to a crappy bar to hang out. A couple of guys in my crew headed upstairs where they have a dance club. They came back down minutes later to report that everyone upstairs were just wasted throwing drinks on each other; they were also playing the same bad music upstairs as they were downstairs. Bathrooms in bars are notoriously bad and the one unisex bathroom they have downstairs is no exception. The toilet handle was broken so there was no flushing possible, pee pee all over the floor, the soap dispenser was broken so you couldn't wash your hands properly (thank God for the antibacterial gel I carry in my purse). As soon as our party of 4 arrived after dinner we found an empty bar-height table. It was Friday night around 9:30. There was only one chair at the table, but that didn't bother us because we were just there for a quick beer. The general manager noticed that we were chairless and within two minutes he rounded up 3 chairs from all corners of the bar. We thanked him profusely and tried to tip him for his troubles but he refused and told us to tip his bartenders instead. He walked away and we talked amongst ourselves about how friendly and generous he was for bringing us chairs without us having to ask. He recirculated a couple of times and then suddenly appeared with a round of free shots for us. He knew we appreciated him and wanted to return the favor. Big shout out from the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation located in PENSACOLA, Florida. On November 30th, our group was among 75 plus patrons attending a special event at The Point. The owners, Larry and Valerie Post were spectacular hosts. Chris, their manager did an outstanding job of taking care of the guests. The servers and bartenders obviously love working there! Great food, great service and the ambiance of love of the city of Boston is evident in the pride and professional service to their patrons shown by the staff. The Point is the place to be!! We hosted our non-profit trivia night at The Point last week and truly had an amazing time. The staff was amazing and helped us with everything we needed. Jimmy was literally my right-hand man during the event!! Please give him a raise!! He made sure the music was right, the food got delivered in a timely fashion and the drinks kept pouring!! With The Point's help, we blew past our fundraising goal by $1,000! I'm a local who lives in the North End and the food is some of the BEST I've in a while! I came in for dinner on a Friday night around 8pm. Guys at the door were helpful and got us a seat. Servers came over and were attentive. We had the clam chowder which was excellent. For our meal we spilt a pizza which was surprisingly awesome. Our server told us that they make their own sauce and dough would definitely recommend swing by this place. The Best part was they have live music that starts at 9pm with Pat Dowling. All in all drinks were fair priced, beer was ice cold, would eat here again and it was a great atmosphere! My husband and I decided to take a nice stroll through Boston today. We wanted to stop off somewhere for a quick beer and some chowder during our walk. We passed several little taverns and stopped at The Point. We saw a sign outside advertising "the best clam chowder in Boston". I looked at my husband and laughed stating how all restaurants like to claim that so we decided to give it a try. Hello, Those of you look n for a great time, get to The Point. The staff was great. Fiday night " Me and Julio" blew the door and windows out. I felt the staff was friendly. Yes the bathrooms could be bigger. I also felt it attracted a good crowd, in a fun mood. The place is small, but an excuse me works just fine. Moved from Boston to Charleston, SC 6 years ago. BEST NIGHT EVER!!!! I was there two weeks ago with a group of bachelorettes looking to have some fun. Only a five dollar cover for great music, great people, great drinks. Crowded but we were always able to make our way to the bar for drinks. Doorstaff let us jump the line because we were dressed to impress, and the people in the line weren't looking too bad either! Two dollar beers got us started, but soon we were on our way to martinis and blueberry muffin shots (the hit of our night)! All I know is we'll be back for another great night. read more

The bouncer felt the need to put his hands on my friend when he was walking in despite not being near the front of the door like any bouncer should. This African American bouncer with a beard walked from feet away to grab my friend and pull him outside so he can check his ID. I get needing to check IDs outside of a bar but you do not grab someone's shirt and pull them out. Completely unprofessional and was a few seconds away from a negative reaction if he continued his aggressive unnecessary behavior for no reason. read more

Best bar in Boston!!! Visiting from Kansas, came here on a Saturday night to watch football and so glad we did! All the bartenders and staff were completely awesome!! This place is awesome. If you are looking for a cheap way to get as many drinks as possible, the point is the way to go. The food is great, and the drinks are even better. The cute bartender started off by giving us a round of free drinks, then we ended the night with $2 beers. I decided not to as we were walking and taking the train home, but I might come back to get one so I can have the memorabilia. The downstairs bar is very cozy. It's sort of centers the room and around it our tables where you could eat at. I overhead the staff say the tables are just for food and drink -- I think because it's so busy. When you continue on past the bar, you get to a mini gift shop right before the bathrooms, they also had name tags where you could write your name on, which was cool. My boyfriend surprised me with a magnet because he knows I collect them, which was cute. Next to the bathrooms are stairs to go visit the replica bar from the show. This is also where they have the main gift shop with plenty of things you could take home, including shirts, sweatshirts, mugs, magnets, and other cool stuff too. Honestly working in the hospitality industry I will recommend this bar to tourists and to locals. Even though it is very touristy, there is quality behind it so it works well. I will be back to try a cuppa chowder!
