The Point rocks! Literally, you can see live music here downstairs and dance to a DJ upstairs. It's location is a bit on the touristy side, but if you're out for a bender why not get to know a few out-of-towners along the way, right? The service is good as its general atmosphere is too. I attended a catered birthday party upstairs and it was a really fun. All the birthday girl had to do was show up and The Point handled everything else. So, few hours ago finished work and had a veeeery long day, I decide to visit the Point for a solo drink and to relax. Live music was also on. This was my second visit, first one was very good customer service from the male bartender. So, sat down ordered my drink and the female bar woman that served me was so persistent on me paying up front. I had not even had time to hold my drink. She also mentioned something about handing her my credit card something about putting me on a tab that I have no clue what it was, this is my 5th time ever all in this area. I quoted that I am not familiar with this tab thing and that I dont want to give you my credit card to hold on to. She then quoted that its a typical processes that bars do and that I might leave and probably not pay. I then quoted, "so, you want me to pre pay my drink" and she said yes. After getting my credit card back I quoted "so now am I all set, can I enjoy my drink or do I need to do anything else?" She responded that I am all set. Can you believe this person, asking me to pre pay my drink without me even having touched the glass? I was so disappointed that I left my drink and left the store. I just wanted a drink to relax and go home after a looooong day. That is all. She gave me the sense that I would leave without paying, maybe I miss understood but she definitely wanted me to pay up front. So insulted and disturbing. How do you treat a new customer like that, you should welcome them not harass them to pay up front! This may also be the direction from the owner so I dont want to blame the female bartender at all but her approach was totally inappropriate. read more

The Point is like an oasis in the crowded Fanueil Hall area. While literally surrounded by a combination of overpriced and overly stuck up bars, The Point, amazingly, has a friendly crowd/staff, a good selection of inexpensive beer, quality, cheap food, and a laid back atmosphere - great for firing up their electronic jukebox or watching sports. It's a small haven of neighborhood pub normalcy in a part of town defined by the overdone. I'm so glad it's there and will be back often! read more

My friends and I went here yesterday during a St. Paddys day pub crawl. One of my friends had an e-cigarette, and they told us all of us had to leave because she had used it. In the process of making us leave, one of the bouncers decided to take it upon himself to grab me around the neck from behind and throw me to the ground for no reason. He took it upon himself to use that e-cigarette as a reason to attack somebody, even though I was calm and collected during the whole process. I don't know how they train their bouncers here at The Point, but using excessive force to get an individual out of the bar is not right and I felt I needed to make a comment of that incident here. In my opinion he shouldn't be allowed to work there anymore as he's just getting a rush from trying to use excessive force on customers. There's many other bars around Faneuil Hall, this bar is already sub-par and with this i incident I'll make sure I never go back to the Point and neither will my friends. read more

Whenever I head to Boston, I have to stop at The Point. It's a great little spot to stop in for drinks, no matter what time of day it is. All around the staff is great, but Tiana (aka Taco Steph) is one of the best bartenders I've dealt with in my trips to Boston. As a bartender myself, she exemplifies everything that makes a great bartender; upbeat, always smiling, very personable, engaging and she makes great drinks. Visit The Point, you won't be disappointed. If you find yourself needing to eat a little something, the pizza was pretty good as well. read more

this spot is strategically located near faneuil hall BUT off the beaten path and near the north end but on the boston side of 93. i love this joint, cheap beer, good music selection and an atm that has given me extra 20's on one special occasion! seriously, this is right next to hay market so in the summer it is ripe with rotten produce funk but in the fall and winter is a good meeting place for when you need to meet up in town but dont want to touch faneuil hall with a 10 foot pole. read more

After purchasing tickets to an overbooked New Years event at the point, the manager was helpful in resolving the dispute. A third party called pubcrawls.com blatantly overbooked the event. I don't know much about the point but regardless of the venue stay away from any pub crawls.com events. read more

What was supposed to be a quick bite to eat turned into one of the most fun nights I've had in a long time! The portions are big, but they don't skip out on flavor. The clam chowder is the best soup I've ever had. As a Californian, the pulled pork nachos made me forget that I was actually on the East Coast. Needless to say, we were definitely in a food coma so we decided to stick around for a little. The ambiance and the DJ upstairs was next level! I have come here a few times and have always had a good experience. I can't complain about 2$ Bud Light drafts and live music! This past Saturday was a different experience. I first started my night downstairs at the Point drinking and listening to the live music. I got great service from the downstairs staff as they were quick to notice me at the bar and get me more drinks. They also closed out my tab quickly and CORRECTLY. I then decided to go upstairs to the dance club part of the Point and it was like a completely different bar staff. They were rude and would take forever to get people their drinks. I first ordered two Bud Light Bottles cause of course they were out of 2$ drafts in the dance club scene. The male bartender told me it would be $7.50 for two 16oz bottles which I was ok with. I gave him my debit card to start a tab. I drank the two beers and then ordered two more. Now this is where the fun starts. After I had finished my four bottles of beer I approached the blonde female bartender to close out my tab. She was cleaning up from a drunk customer who had just spilt half of his order on her bar. I was patient and waited for her to finish and did not ask her right away to close out my tab because I could tell she was frustrated with the previous customer. FINALLY she finished cleaning up while glaring at me and giving me the "What the &*%$ do you want?" look. I asked politely if she could close out my tab. She comes back after 5 minutes of looking through debit cards and credit cards and says my tab was already closed and that I am not in their system. I then tell her that I never requested the tab to be closed and that the staff never gave my debit card back to me. She then goes to speak with the male bartender whom I ordered my beers from originally. He pulls a piece of paper out of nowhere and she gives it to me. The tab was for $21. Now I'm not sure how how my bill is $21 because i ordered (4) 16oz bottles of Bud Light that were supposed to be $3.75 each. My bill should have been $15. I decided to forget about it and just call the bar tomorrow to dispute it because the female bartender had a crazy look in her eye. So after looking at the tab I stayed standing there at the bar waiting for my debit card back as anyone else would do that is trying to close out their tab. The bartender notices I'm still at the bar staring at her now because I'm wondering how she has not given me my debit card back yet. Finally she says "What else can i help you with". So i said "YOU STILL HAVE MY DEBIT CARD!!!!!!!" She then throws her hands up in the air and gives me a look of disgust and goes back to the cash register and starts looking for my card. She eventually finds it somewhere and gives it back to me with a nasty look on her face even though it was HER FAULT. I leave the bar pissed at the bar staff and think I will never go here again. The next day I wake up and notice an extra charge on my debit card for $68 from the point that was not mine. I have tried calling the bar over and over again to dispute the charge and have them remove it before it goes through. They have still not picked up their phone after two days of calling them non stop. I now have to go through my bank to have them dispute it and get the $68 put back into my bank account. I will never go to the Point again and hope everyone will consider this review before they visit. read more

We had an unbelievable time at The Point. We ordered the Clam Chowder which was in my opinion the best in a Boston. We also ordered the Point Pub Pizza and a Cheese Burger , both were great ! i stopped in the other night and had an awesome time! The bouncers were super nice, they had no cover and had a couple talented guitarists/singers that played really fun renditions of cover songs. I also tried the $4 margarita and was pretty impressed- it wasn't some pre-made concoction- the bartender made it on the spot. Where else in Boston can you get a beer for $2 or a mixed drink for $4? The bathroom was clean compared to these reviews, and they actually do have 2 bathrooms on the first floor. read more

The Point hosted a corporate event and scotch tasting for us in their upstairs bar area. The event was fantastic. The bartender Heidi provided amazing service. We had over 50 people upstairs and were still able to make a presentation (including using audio/visuals!) The hors d'oeuvres were amazing with a beautiful fruit and cheese table and our guests made a meal out of sliders and delicious thin crust pizzas. The Point's management was incredibly gracious and accommodating. I would highly recommend The Point for any event. read more

This review is based on the St. Patrick's holiday weekend in March. After checking out Boston's new Frost Ice Bar in town my friends and I continued to party at The Point. At this place there are two floors, so you could either be on the first floor or go upstairs to the 2nd floor. From my experience the 2nd floor is like a party scene once you get to the top of the staircase. They play great songs that you can dance to and all which dancing occurred. This is the place to be at if anybody is looking to have a great time for a St. Patrick party! read more

Bar staff got drunk, doormen all had egos and tossed out a bunch of people (threw out the wrong people) and then to top it off, they clearly overcharged my tab by manipulating the tip on my bill. I've been to the Point quite a few times prior to my night there this past Saturday. The place is usually empty compared to the madness that is the Faneuil Hall bars and the live music tends to be decent. Although, they could use a lesson in sound level vs. small space. The music is always waaaaay too loud for the tiny bar area. The prices aren't too bad - I only drink beer here so I can't review the mixed drink menu, but 2 Sam Summer draughts and a Corona total about $13. Apparently, this past Saturday night was makeout night. I counted three couples madly making out at the bar... before 11pm. There was a lot of slurping, tongue action, and bra showing. Obviously, very wasted patrons who continued to be served shot after shot by the lovely bartenders. If you're looking to get completely bombed without getting cut off, this must be the place. If you're looking to enjoy your beer and music without the added octopus sound effects, maybe you should try another night or just go later when the drunken lovebirds have stumbled out. I will definitely go back here if only to kick some ass on Big Buck Hunter pro in the corner. read more

I have been going here for some time and it has only become better with age. This is the last true local bar in Boston. Food is great and they have brunch on Saturday's and Sunday's. Very inexpensive ! Now, if you are going here and expecting something fancy, then turn around and leave. This is a cluster of white collar and blue collar professionals that enjoy top notch food at a VERY REASONABLE PRICE, especially when you consider the tourist trap area that they are in. Many of my friends as well as myself have been there througout the years on several occasions. The prices are high and there is a cover charge. It is a viable option in fanuel hall amongst others. The downstairs is empty because everyone wants to go on the upper floor. The upper floor is somewhat crowded but plays generic dance music. I have seen the "supposed owner" kicking guys out for no reason at all. After what I have witnessed on my personal experience there are many more fun bars to go to in Fanuel Hall. read more

I don't go to The Point because I have good taste. Strike that. I do have good taste, because I only go there in the afternoon, when the hot bartender is working. If you're under 80 and don't look like an extra from "Gone Baby, Gone", you'll probably get as much attention as I do during the day, if you don't mind day drinking. Because that is all this place is good for. Don't go at night. And don't eat the food. The bathroom is in the middle of the dining room, and everything smells like toilet cake. This place is an absolute joke and not worth the $10 cover charge. I was here last night, 2/5/16. We waited in line for a bit to get in but the line seemed to move pretty quickly. The only reason we chose this bar was because we had friends already inside. I was with 3 other girls and one guy. (Not sure if that has any relevance... I know some bars like letting in more girls...) Anyway we get in and my friends start walking up the stairs. The bouncer in the Patriots hat shoves me out of the way and rips my friend down the stairs then goes up and tells my other friends they need to go down and wait in line. We had never been there before and we had no idea their was a line because the place was complete chaos and no one was standing at the stairs monitoring them when we got in. We wait in line and watch as the other bouncer (that is now monitoring the stairs) lets about 8 girls and 2 other guys go straight up right as they walk in, so we confront him and he says "that's the owners daughter nothing we can do about it..." Sounds like complete BS to me... I will never go back here, definitely not to a place where the male bouncer thinks it is okay to shove girls out of the way and physically pull them down the stairs. These kinds of situations are received a lot better if one uses words and is polite rather than acting like a complete dbag. I felt completely disrespected after the way we were treated. read more
