Great choice from the Mara vista farmers market. Next time I would ask for more hot honey.

Trendy doesn't always mean amazing food…read more We arrived about 15 minutes before our reservation. We easily found parking about 25 yards from the entrance. The restaurant was almost empty, our dining companions hadn't arrived yet. We ordered sparkling water, crispy provolone and the olives, almonds and fries appetizers. The provolone arrived warm, at best, the vodka sauce it was served with was delicious. This would have been fantastic if it arrived in a small cast iron skillet, instead it was a slab of cheese that would have been better had it not arrived at the table. The olives and almonds were small and forgettable. The fries were divine. Hot, salty and served with ketchup and a Chipotle mayo. The place began to fill and I began to think we may have ordered the wrong dishes. The server was challenged. Good thing I wasn't too hungry, I settled on a caesar salad that was...boring. My guy had the Tonnarelli, that was supposed to be cacio e pepe but it was drier than the Sahara and if there were a sprinkle of pepper it ran away, far away. Our friends enjoyed the Tagliatelle and they likely would have enjoyed a shower of Parmigiano Reggiano. There was none in sight. The bread and butter was super delicious. We should have ordered a boatload. At $14 for a slice of bread served with the same almonds and olives was silly...the garlic butter was super yummy. Serve the bread and butter. Ditch the olives and almonds and by all means, slather that gorgeous butter everywhere. The coffee arrived after the chocolate and pecan brownie and dessert spoons arrived after the cannoli was devoured. We learned our server loved our friendliness on what he described was his 1st night. A few missteps, but he was tipped a generous 35% because everyone has a first night. Ignacio was friendly, and will be a fantastic server in due time. He has hopes we'll visit again. I explained we would likely see him in Argentina sooner than that. No visit by a manager. Drinks and food were dropped by alternate staff whose robot demeanor felt like we were inconveniencing them. Best service of the night was the security guard posted outside the front door - he opened and held the door for us as we arrived and as we left and even bid us a good evening. Class act. If trendy is your thing, you might enjoy this place, it was a miss for me. Expensive too. I get it though. Wages, insurance, location, and prices are what they are.

The crisp of each pizza slice is to perfection for me personally, the toppings are so delicious and rich in flavor. I LOVE the fancy prince and I occasion share the four cheese pizza as well with my boyfriend and daughter. The service though!! THE SERVICE BY KELLY/KAILEY (I'm totally misspelling this) IS SUPER GREAT!! She's always so friendly and happy to help us out. She recognizes us now whenever we come in and she's just such a vibe. So, I signed up, went to order a slice, and asked about the $5 and free cookie. Devery laughed when I asked about it, and told me it was "a catch". I was confused and was like "so it's not real?" He then acted like I was an idiot and ver batim said "bro, life's going to be really tough for you" and laughed in my face. Never in my life have I felt so disrespected by a food service worker, or any employee of any establishment. I sat down, and then a bit later just asked him if there was a manager there, and he, again, laughed in my face. Upon inspection of the bottom of the sign, I saw the fine print explaining that the 50 points you get is equivalent to $5, but you don't get the money until you get 100 points. Fine, whatever, shady marketing kind of but I don't really care, that's common. What's uncommon and completely uncalled for was how Devery acted towards me when I was simply confused and seeking clarification. I don't leave bad reviews, nor typically even care enough to, but I left Prince st pizza with such a terrible taste in my mouth (not literally, the pizzas five stars) that I felt compelled to write this.

They are pumping out fantastic, massive 18" pies that are a lovely cross between New York and Napoli styles. The crust has a delicious taste and a perfect chew, but with the structure and size of a large NY pizza pie. The Margheroni pizza was excellent, featuring an ultra-tangy tomato sauce with a lot of bite, though my pepperoni pie could have used more slices of pepperoni. The team has thought of all the details. Service is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and organized. Because they only sell whole 18" pies, you'll want to have family or friends to share in the goodness. While there are a few picnic tables on-site, most people opt for takeout. There is a slight wait if you walk up, but they accept same-day orders over the phone for a specific pick-up time so it's ready when you arrive. Payment is seamless--they take cash, debit, credit, and I easily paid via my Apple Watch. Tip: Remember, they are only open on Fridays! Call ahead to secure your pickup slot.

That place has been around for almost as long as I have lived here and, well, maybe it should not have survived Pandemic? That might have been a mercy killing. But then ... a tech guy from New Haven, Connecticut came in and bought the old restaurant from the original owner and ... wow! What a difference! The pizzas are totally different now and so much better! Think "Mystic Pizza" more than "CPK" and you will see what I mean (check out my pictures for the details)! My surprise has turned into sheer delight! The pizza dough is now a 48-hour sourdough and it is incredibly tasty!!! They have about a dozen different kinds of toppings on the slices and so many of them are terrific! I do not eat meat on my pizza, but my friend just raved about how good was the sausage pizza! Personally, I was torn between the Plain Mootz (yummy tomato and cheese with a great flop; delicious sauce; tangy tomatoes; pure delight!) and the BBQ Chicken with savory sauce and tasty chunks of chicken! Two winners for sure! For those of you who want to eat more healthy, the new owner has kept the Salad Pizza -- and has improved upon the avocado by whipping it with lemon juice so it stays bright green and does not get oxidized and turn brown from the air. The best news of all is that the new owner, JD, is renovating and updating the shop, putting in new, more comfortable seating, and has hugely upgraded the beverage selection! LilGuy will be the new name soon, and this is sure to become a hot spot on Abbot Kinney Blvd., even without "Abbott's" in the name! Fantastic New Haven style pizza; crunchy, chewy, perfectly cooked dough with a great mouth feel; friendly staff; comfortable seating; and very affordable prices. The Lil Guy is sure to be a winner! I look forward to going back next week and trying the rest of the menu! I hope to see you there!

Wow! So, so, so good…read more The restaurant is quite large. It's well laid out, cozy sections, heat lamps for the patio and inviting decor. The service is friendly, efficient, non intrusive and helpful. They clean the plates and utensils each course. Food is served family style. Best size group is 3 so you can try more things. Start with a bread - the focaccia is one of the best we've had. It's soft and fluffy like an amazing donut (from a texture standpoint). Then we moved to the appetizer course and got the fried meatball. A hit, but the least favorite of everything we ordered. Next we ordered 2 pastas - the tagatelli and orchiette. Both are amazing - different from each other but so so good. Then the wonderful dish is the prime rib and crispy potatoes. The steak was over seasoned / salted and the potatoes under seasoned, but if you ate them together- YUM! Had to get the merigata which was one of the best desserts we've had. Delicate meringue, topped with a milk chocolate custard/pudding consistency, then whipped cream (not sweet to balance the layers), topped with Michigan sour cherries (so tart and plump) and sprinkled with pitaschios. Heavenly! Get a cappuccino to help balance the richness. So glad we came here!
